Step into the lap of luxury at this home - if you're not dipping into the pool first! From the moment guests step inside, they'll have the option of relaxing at the breakfast bar around the full kitchen, the lower level living room, or at the built-in bar. The second floor features two bedrooms with two queen beds each (plus a balcony and en suite bathroom in each room). The third floor includes one room with a queen bed and twin bed, balcony, and an en suite bathroom. Walk down the hall (past the indoor hammock and upstairs deck) and guests will find a bedroom with two twin beds, one queen bed, a balcony, and an en suite bathroom. For guests with special accessibility needs, a specialty bedroom built for handicap access. Every one of the rooms in this house has air conditioning and guests can enjoy daily housekeeping during their stay. After everyone's settled in, guests can head out to the pool area enjoy a meal cooked on the private gas grill. Don't forget to shower off before coming inside!

What's nearby:
650 meters (just under a half-mile) from the house lies Carrillo beach, gorgeous with its white sandy shores, palm trees, and occasional marshy retreats. But don't let the rural beach town vibes fool you - popular restaurants such as La Catrina Tequila and Grill and Hula Jungla are less than eight kilometers (five miles) from the home. Casa Guarumo Carrillo is set on the local bus route, so you're free to try a local way of reaching your destination.

Beautiful beach home

The house was pristine and looked even more beautiful in person. Great location right by a beautiful beach with lots of cute restaurants and shops within 15 min. The house was ample and the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. The property managers were incredibly responsive and helpful. Great pool and outdoor space.

Outstanding house and team!

The house was perfect for our large group. We used all of the bedrooms and spent nearly everyday in the pool. Location was fantastic - could get groceries across the street, walk to Playa Carrillo, and short drive to Sámara. The cleaning team was easy to contact and great, and we had the recommended chef service make breakfasts and dinners and they were outstanding. Would highly recommend! Everything was homemade and delicious.

The BEST house!

I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful our stay was here. This house is GORGEOUS — the pool, the high ceilings, the huge windows, it was all so lovely. We had a group of 11 people and we all fit very comfortably. The house is a short 10-minute walk to Playa Carrillo, which we loved more than the beach in Sámara: it’s a long, peaceful stretch of sand with gentle waves and lots of palm trees for shade. There are a handful of restaurants and little grocery stores within walking distance of the house for anything you might need. And of course, Sámara is a short drive away if you want more variety. But I’ve saved the best for last — María, our host, was the most wonderful part of our stay. There was no request too small or too large for her and her husband to help us with, no matter the time of day. They warmly welcomed us, cooked multiple meals for us, provided recommendations for anything we wanted to do (surfing, horseback riding, massages, you name it), cleaned the pool every day, and helped us navigate a flat tire situation. We joked that we wanted to take María with us on the rest of our trip. Stay here, you will love it!!

A big Villa for the best experience!

Our family stayed in this beautiful Villa for several days. It is perfect for a large group because it has 6 rooms, each with its own private bathroom and large social areas. You can walk very quickly to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Carrillo is a safe and quiet place. But if you are looking for fun, a small town called Samara is very close with many bars and restaurants in front of the beach! Kenneth cooked us delicious typical dishes at home. We will surely return!!

Casa Guarumo is possibly the best place my family and I have stayed. The house is very well equipped. The pool area is beautiful and very comfortable. The impeccable rooms and super close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Communication with the host is easy and fast. We will definitely go back.

Family Trip to Costa Rica

The house was beautiful and well stocked. The pool was perfect- you could sit in the shallow end and enjoy the hummingbirds and watch the monkeys in the trees above. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were a nice size. Within walking distance are a few restaurants and a well supplied store for last minute pickups. The beach is a steep walk down the hill, but totally doable. The property manager was easy to reach when we ran out of propane for the dryer. My only concern was when we booked the house it said it had air conditioning in the bedrooms- but about a month before we were set to arrive, the air conditioning was crossed off on the listing. But, after many email, it was some how "fixed".

Casa Guarumo es espectacular, viajamos en familia, un grupo grande con niños pequeños y bebés y todos estuvimos cómodamente instalados, las habitaciones son de lujo, espaciosas, limpias y muy privadas. La cocina está totalmente equipada, no hace falta nada si se quiere cocinar durante la estadía. Las áreas comunes son suficientemente grandes para compartir en diferentes actividades a la vez. El área de piscina es grande, apropiada para diferentes edades y se puede disfrutar en cualquier horario. Don Sergio y todos los que trabajan en la casa son muy amables y siempre estuvieron disponibles para hacer de nuestra experiencia algo memorable. Niños y adultos disfrutamos demasiado durante nuestro hospedaje y definitivamente volveríamos.

Our trip to Puerto Carrillo and Casa Guarumo was beyond our expectations. The layout was very spacious. Our party of 12 never felt crowded or cramped. The house is fully equipped with everything. Pablo cleaned the pool and outdoor space every morning. Xinia surprised us with a homemade breakfast our first morning. The local market was so convenient. Casa Guarumo is centrally located, five minute walk to the white sandy beach, three minutes to great Restaurants. We hired Xinia to make a Costa Rican dinner for us...the best meal we had!!! Such a great experience, great people, hospitality and culture. Definitely returning!! I would recommend zip lining with Manu/Freddie at Wingnuts. We also traveled the short distance to Samara and enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner at El Lagarto’s.

Casa Guarumo is as perfect as all the pictures and better. The location is great, with 4 very good restaurants just a few minutes walk away! The grocery store across the street had everything we needed, from fresh fruit to drinks to shampoo. The pool was cleaned every day by Pablo and the patio swept. Xinia cooked us typical Costa Rican breakfast 3 mornings. She would have cooked us supper to, but we wanted to explore all the restaurants in the area. Xinia booked excursions for us and had them pick us up right at the house. We enjoyed many species of birds right on the patio and a big highlight was howler monkeys filling the tree right in front of the house and we could watch them from the patio. The kitchen was well equipped with 2 fridges, microwave and lots of room. The washer and dryer came in handy. The pool area is well setup with a bathroom and shower off the patio. Playa Samara is only 10 minutes away by car. There were many more restaurants, shopping, grocery stores etc. Playa Carrillo is only a 10 minute walk down a really big hill. Morning walks on the beach were amazing and the sunsets were breathtaking! All the bedrooms were air conditioned, so no worry about the heat for sleeping. The temperature went down slightly in the evenings, so we enjoyed the patio all day and night. Sergio was great, he helped us arrange drivers to and from the airport! He responded quickly if we had questions. If we needed anything Pablo was close by to help us. This is an amazing property, well maintained and the location is perfect! We can’t wait to start planning our next trip back to Casa Guarumo!

Gorgeous place! We had a great time and because each room has a balcony and a private bath, our families were very comfortable. It has several levels so not appropriate for people with disabilities. The beach is very close however you might want to drive as the road has a small hill. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, we hired Xinia also for cooking a few meals and she did a fantastic job!

We rented Sergio’s Place, Casa Guaramo for a family reunion (12 members) for 6 days. Our children love the pool! The pool has a shallow side for the children and the deeper side for the adults. Sergio was very responsive in answering all of our questions before and during the trip. The house is located near a small market and a couple of restaurants that you can walk to. It is also very close to Carrillo beach that has shade and tables where our family enjoyed spending our last day. Sergio’s place is large enough to cater for a large group and the pool is lovely to lie around and relax after a day at the beach.
