Grandfather Glory. A Luxury Condo With Spectacular View of Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Glory is a sensational (Newly Renovated) 7th floor, two bedroom - two bath, Condo in the SugarTop Resort on top of Sugar Mountain NC. The resort is centrally located in The High Country and is a guard gated community with round-the-clock security and a 24-hour front desk staff. The resort lobby has a library for reading or games. The activity area is conveniently located just off the lobby. This area features: Heated Indoor Swimming Pool, 2 Hot Tubs, Sauna, Steam Bath, Fitness Center plus Men's and Ladies Locker Rooms with personal showers. Common outside areas include lower level community sundeck, picnic tables and outdoor grills. There is a special place just off the lobby to keep your skis and ski boots so that such items are not brought into the condos to clutter and get in the way.

Grandfather Glory is a fully-furnished unit with a mountain theme and features a wood burning fireplace in a spacious living room with wet bar. The beautiful scenery is viewable from nearly every room. The Master BR has king size bed and Guest BR has a queen bed. The Master Bedroom has a 40in smart LCD TV, and the Second Bedroom has a 40 in LCD TV. The Living room area has a 55in smart LCD TV. We also have wifi in the condo, password will be provided after unit is rented. The upgraded kitchen has the latest appliances and everything you may need to prepare a full meal.

A private outside balcony with a spectacular view of Grandfather Mountain is the centerpiece of this wonderful mountain condominium. Laundry room w/full size washer and dryer are available on the same floor. Complimentary shuttle service to and from parking for all guests. During ski season no need to drive to the ski resort as Ski Sugar offers free shuttle bus service from SugarTop Resort to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort during weekends (peak season) and holidays. Sorry, no pets are permitted due to HOA policy. This is a smoke free unit. Local activities include skiing, snow tubing, Wilderness Alpine Mountain Coaster, golfing, biking, swimming, hiking, fishing, wild life watching, zip-lining, gem mining, rafting or just relaxing in the mountains. Nearby sites include Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, Lineville Falls/Caverns, Boone, Blowing Rock, Lees-McRae College and Appalachian State University, Tweetsie Railroad, Overlook Barn, Beech Mountain and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Perfect vacation spot

This was our second stay at Sugar Top and Grandfather Glory was perfect for our family of 4. The kids love the indoor pool and the board games were perfect to keep them entertained. The condo had everything we needed for our stay!

Great Place!

The condo was clean and well thought out. The place is well stocked with essentials like soap, paper products etc.. Small details like extra blankets, board games etc.. were appreciated. No complaints at all about the condo and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Best Christmas on The Mountain!!

The condo was perfect for our Christmas vacation. The owner had the place spotless and perfectly decorated for Christmas Day. My wife and I took my little girl here for the big day. The views are spectacular and it feels just like your in a log cabin. The host are so friendly and they helped make our stay that much better. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a perfect mountain top adventure with views to die for!!

Getaway

The condo was clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. I went with my 17 year old daughter and her friend. The beds were comfortable. The view was amazing. There was Food Lion about 5 minutes away from the condo. There is Walmart in Boone about 25 minutes away. Sugar Mountain resort had amazing and friendly staff for skiing and snowboarding. Sugar Top front desk was friendly and helpful. Thank you for an amazing time.

Winter wonderland ski trip

Grandfather Glory was a perfect condo for our family of 4! It was very cozy and well furnished. I loved that there are lots of hooks to hang damp clothes after a long day of skiing and sledding. The large dining room table was a perfect spot for family board games. We loved the mountain views and we really enjoyed our stay here! (Just make sure you have 4WD if coming up when there’s a lot of snow).

Magical Family Trip

My husband and I took our children (ages 4 and 6) from Charleston, SC on a 3-day trip to Sugar Top resort and stayed in Grandfather Glory. Upon arrival, the parking and unloading of luggage was a bit backed up so it took a while, but once we got inside we never had another issue. The views from our condo were spectacular. Our kids spent so much time on the balcony playing and enjoying the snow. The condo overall was very clean, comfortable, functional, and spacious for a family of 4 with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Randy was incredibly helpful and replied within minutes any time we had questions. The lovely people working the resort from front to back were outstanding. Ellen, the shuttle driver, was fantastic and really sweet to us and the kids. A young woman working the front desk one evening even helped source some cold medicine for me since it was not sold at the resort. Less than 5 minutes later, my husband was at the elevator when an older couple dropped something off their cart and it shattered on the ground. A gentleman who worked there was on it in less than a minute, kept reassuring them it wasn't a big deal, and got it cleaned up in no time. After everyone got on the elevator he stayed behind with a flashlight to look for all the tiny pieces of glass to ensure he got it all. It was impressive! Our kids loved swimming in the pool and warming up in the hot tub. We went tubing at Hawknest and had an absolute blast. We plan on making this an annual family trip!

Absolutely gorgeous mountain retreat

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The pictures do not do this place Justice at all. The views are breathtaking. The building was nice as well with a convenient little market in the lobby and a beautiful indoor pool. The unit itself was nicely decorated with a cabin feel. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed and more. I would like to point out that the beds were also very comfortable and that’s a rare find in a rental. I could stay here forever…. All communication with the owner was good too. Super sweet people. We will definitely be back again.

Wonderful stay!

The pictures do not do this place justice. The view is unbelievable. We worried it would be hot without AC but the breeze was nice and cool in the evening. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the bathrooms spotless. The shuttle to your car was not a big deal and came quickly. Used the hot tub and gym while there too. I will definitely be back. This was one of the nicest places I have stayed.

Beautiful views

The condo was clean and had everything that we needed. I didn’t care for parking away from the condo but it was just a little inconvenient because it was so cold. The shuttle runs very often and they’ll call it whenever you need it. We enjoyed the stay.

Such an amazing stay!!

My husband and I so enjoyed our stay at the condo. It was such a convenient/quick trip to the local ski resort, the condo was so clean, had so many amenities and the view was to die for. Also, they have decorated the condo so wonderfully and it really gives you that sweet cozy cabin vibe. Can’t say enough good things!!!

Awesome stay

I was over impressed with how nice our stay was! The condo was super clean and accommodating for our family (with 2 boys aged 6 and 8). The kitchen was well stocked and convenient to cook at home. The rooms had lots of storage and beds were very comfy. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Front desk was super helpful with all questions. The pool and hot tub was perfect for after skiing and utilized it every day! The location was super convenient to grocery store and ski slope. The owner was very helpful in answering all questions in a super timely manner! Overall, it was a 12/10 experience.

Perfect Mountain Condo

The condo was perfect and had everything we needed. The decor was done so well and made it feel super cozy. The only issue, which was not at all the owners' fault, was checking-in. It was snowing hard and we were not able to get to the front of the resort. The employees working at the resort that evening (guard shack, front desk, and shuttle) were not friendly nor helpful. I was not confident that we would make it to our condo that night. Fortunately, the staff working the next day made up for it! Shout out to Frank (front desk) and the female shuttle driver from Chicago. They were both very nice, friendly, helpful, and welcoming!

Great time on sugar mountain

The owners were very accommodating after a mixup on our check-in. The unit was clean and as advertised. The inside pool and spa were great after a day of skiing. Views from the balcony were beautiful. I would recommend the rental to anybody going to the area.

Great Place

We had a great experience renting for this unit! The unit was great and very cozy for our family. I will say the resort itself was having a few issues, but nothing that was not manageable. We went during a very busy time, and the location was crowded and busy. Everyone was helpful, and we enjoyed our trip!

I'd almost say "Accuracy of Listing" wasn't completely accurate because this condo was BETTER than the listing and pictures! Absolutely gorgeous, perfect location, and amazing hosts!
