"The Deer Bungalow" Pine Hills Large Custom Home in Julian that is Pet Friendly

When you arrive in Pine Hills, you will see why it's Julian's preferred area. Mature oaks & pines await you with abundant wildlife. There is rarely a day when deer or turkey do not come to our back door to say hello! A nice variety of beautiful birds & big bushy squirrels also frequent the property.

We have a Jacuzzi Spa, which is in the backyard, and you can watch the views while you enjoy the bubbles!

The house is large (2400 sq') with a wrap-around deck, swing set, horseshoes & hammock.

Only a few minutes from famed William Heise Park and downtown Julian, This amazing retreat has a 75 " TV in the media room and a second TV in the giant fireplace room, where you can cosy up and watch your favorite shows.

There is plenty of hiking nearby, and this area is very quiet and private. We expect our guests to be the same! We do not allow parties or events that cause a lot of noise.

Added guests will increase the price of your stay. So be sure and put in the correct number of guests when you book. Pet fee is per pet per stay.

This place is an introverts paradise. It is quiet and peaceful. The animals that come by and feed in the backyard is a real treat. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings and coffee in the living room with a book in the mornings. Kitchen cabinets were stocked with cookware, though a touch unorganized. There is no drinking water and the tap water is a bit rough. A nice addition would be a water dispenser. This place was clean and extremely comfortable. Ahhhhhh…

I came to stay with my dog and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at the home and around Julian. Everything was perfection and I can’t wait to come back! John was responsive , attentive and even had a famous apple pie waiting for us upon arrival. The home has everything you need to relax and recharge.

Loved our stay. Lovely home. The host was awesome with communications. We dis encounter some ants when we first checked in , found some food under a chair . We quickly found some spray and were able to control the situation so don’t leave food out. Overall it was nice. Deer came to visit to the backyard every morning , as well as turkeys , the kids enjoyed it very much . Got some yummy apple pie from Julian Apple pie company .

Comfortable and Relaxing Home in the Woods

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at this home in the woods. It was fun to watch the turkeys and the birds. The beds were very comfortable and the space was great for hanging out and enjoying our family, including our 3yo granddaughter, both inside and out. Very quiet neighborhood near town. We also thoroughly enjoyed attending the 4th of July festivities.

Perfect family reunion, grandma's 80th birthday celebration. Spacious inside and out

This beautiful home met all of ourexpectations and the outside wooded grounds, trees, privacy far surpassed what we could have hoped for. We gathered from 3 different parts of the world (flatlanders) and we loved the very private spaciousness, habitate for deer, birds even wild turkeys.The hot tub was a bnus. In a word our stay was Perfection..and we loved Julian. We highly recomend this beaitiful home and definitely would return. Thank you, John, our Host, for being so accommodating and sharing this bit of heaven with us.

The hosts were so gracious- they provided such a nice welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walked in. The house is spacious, tidy and the yard is like something out of a magazine. It was the perfect way for my family to start off the summer and celebrate many accomplishments together.

Our Bungalow Stay in Julian

House was very family friendly— large table for meals with views of turkeys and deer coming through the yard in the morning. FirePlace was nice to sit around in the evening to talk or watch tv.

Enjoyable Weekend Getaway

Thank you so much to John and his family for letting us rent this cozy home. This VRBO was easy to find in the dark. There was enough parking for all 3 vehicles. Although the listing stated that we would have to purchase firewood, the property manager we spoke to said the wood/kindling was available for us if we wanted to build a fire. We were surprised by an apple pie waiting for us in the kitchen. We would like the owners to define "fully stocked." Altho the listing said fully stocked, a few essentials were missing like a vegetable peeler, paper plates, cups. There were mixed messages on the paper work. Like "please don't eat our food", yet the fridge had condiments. We weren't sure what that meant. Were we allowed to use what was in the fridge? We have used vacation rentals and "fully stocked" included condiments/salad dressing etc in the fridge. Yes we appreciated the teas/hot chocolate packets, but some were expired. Please check your supplies periodically. We have had Owners who were very particular with their properties and we want to comply with every rule by the owners so we won't get charged extra fees. We enjoyed our stay very much,but the mixed messages were unnerving because of past experiences with other Vrbos. Thank you again for making your home available to us.

Beautiful family get together in Julian!

This house was perfect our family party. Beautiful mountain area, with wild deer and turkeys literally in the backyard! Nice back property for dogs to explore. Big, comfortable house with wood burning fireplace that everyone loved. Host was super easy to community with and even provided balloons, little party favors and a pie for my 60th! I would def stay here again. Oh, and neighbors sell fresh eggs across the street, I believe my family bought them out :)

We have 4 vacation rentals and cabins in Julian to Choose from. We love Julian and cannot get enough of beautiful surroundings. My wife Sarah and two children have made it our go to place!

Private with deer, turkey and lots of the big fluffy squirrels all over the property. The absolute best part of Julian. Level for walks and the trees are just gorgeous. Large home with large 2 acre lot and set back from the road. William Heise Park close by for more hiking options and picnics.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Large Home with plenty of deer and other animals. Private and quiet. No parties and great neighbors. The wrap around deck is amazing for the views and stargazing. The large fireplace and great room make for an outstanding stay.
