First time visiting South Carolina. Loved the location of the house! Less than 10 min walk - mostly in the shade - to the beach. Very short driving distance to the beach park and other restaurants. House was clean, spacious, comfortable. More than enough essentials for the stay.Area was quiet and fairly private.. Although we definitely made some new friends - lizards, birds, deer!Would definitely stay again!

Quiet natural setting very close to the beach

Spent 2 weeks and enjoyed the quiet setting and the layout of the condo. The kitchen was a nicely stocked room and a short walk to the beach. The bed was comfortable however the carpet should be replaced. We were surprise to even have bikes, chairs all included. It was a good value for us and would be plenty of room for a family.

Great stay

Loved everything about this property. The home was impeccably clean and inviting. The location is just a couple of minutes away from the beach in a nice quiet neighborhood. The available pool, tennis court and pickleball courts make this a great place for the whole family.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our stay. Very cute little villa. The beach was close by. Only a 5 minute walk.. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We will definitely return to this location.

Cute and quiet

We loved this little villa, it was perfect for our family of four. There are lots of pathways to the beach, no more than five minutes from the beach. It’s close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Definitely would stay here again

Relaxation!!!

This property was very well furnished, tasteful artwork and just minutes to the beach. We walked right off our deck to the pool. Kitchen was very well appointed. This was a relaxing, quiet area and we had a great time!

This condo is very nice except the carpet is very dated and dirty! The rest of the condo has many new features and is in a perfect location. If the carpet is replaced it would be great for four guests.

Great Location

Was very clean. Close to beach and pool. Had a fully stocked kitchen of dishes, etc. Bed in Master very comfy. Lots of books for reading. Carpet badly needs cleaning or replacing and deck is in need of some repair.

Great Spot and Property manager!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great spot near the ocean. Short walk but take a wagon if you have very much “stuff”. Very well stocked condo, managers thought of everything! Our new favorite place to stay.

Not great

We spent a week at this property and they were very gracious getting us in early since we were already on the island. The rest however was less than. The property advertises a pool which was not opened and will remain closed until April 1. It also advertises shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms which there was none. The carpet is atrocious and needs to be torn up and replaced. The staining and grime in it forced us to keep our shoes on the whole time. When I move the couch there was food, crumbs and loose change for the finding. The property appears to be a DIY fixer upper. If you're operating on a budget it works fine. Please do not come here if you're expecting a clean environment. Once we found our way to the beach we spent the majority of our time there.

Love Ocean Gate Villas

We have staying in Ocean Gate Villas several times. It’s close to the beach and the pool is not packed with people. The house has been kept up nicely and is one of the nicer units. It was great having supplies and real soaps, etc available. We could not get into our unit at first so we had to call them super late and they were very nice about it. Only drawback was paying way too much to add an extra night on the front of our stay. This might have contributed to our issue getting in. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

summer week at the beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the unit is ideally located and having a pool and tennis court just in the backyard was great. The location was quiet, very close (5 minute walk to a nearly private beach). In general the unit was good, size layout etc. Beds were very comfortable. A few specific comments; the carpets are in very bad shape and be better changed out to a tile/linoleum at least downstairs. Also the sofas and oversized chairs did not feel clean, there were some recepticale covers missing downstairs and outside, also some lights did not work. Handles on appliances, light switches and cabinets were sticky and needed wiped down. with a little better cleaning, a few minor repairs and a changed flooring the unit would be great.

Great Stay at 12 Ocean Villas (July 2022)

A few quick notes to add to other recent reviews: - Host2Coast were fantastic, providing a very clean home, pool towels (in addition to the linens and bath towels), and a welcome gift of a beach bag and 2 cold-koozies and cookies, as well as some cookies and popcorn - Great home for 4 (we were mom & dad and 2 sons) - would have been a bit tight for more than 4 (as that would have required someone on a pullout couch) - We timed the walk as between 6-7 minutes from the villa to the chairs at the end of the man made path; might be a bit longer if you are lugging beach chairs and any equipment - The pool was nice, and incredibly close to the backyard deck, but we never made it in (although we washed the sand off at the faucet outside the pool each day) - If you like to bring large/closed containers of cold beverages, bring your own holders or buy when there (otherwise, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need, and a freezer that made ice) - Really enjoyed the stay - the only thing in need of potential upkeep is the carpet (a bit worn), and the rug under the dining room table (which looked to be taped down, but did not stay put - likely just needs to be swapped out). - Great stay, villa was convenient to all areas of Hilton Head, and very comfortable for our family!

Great location, comfortable accommodations, and very responsive

The Property - perfect for a family of four. Plenty of space. Fully stocked kitchen. Two good sized bathrooms upstairs with a convenient half-bath on the first floor. Fantastic Smart TV on 1st floor. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Amenities/beach gear - this way my biggest question going into the visit, so hopefully this review helps other future renters: beach/pool towels (3 upon arrival but they promptly brought us 2 more), wagon (0), boogie boards (2), beach umbrella (1), bikes (0), helmets (2), beach chairs (0). There are a lot of games & puzzles in the closet and a wide variety of books by the main bedroom. Location - about 100 feet from the Sea Pines gate off Cordillo. Short drive to shopping (Harris Teeter, CVS) and an easy bike ride to Coligny. The beach is a 10-minute (sandy) walk thru a man made/cut-thru path. If you have a lot of things, I definitely recommend a beach-wagon that can easily be pulled along & over sand. I attempted to count the number of steps from “door to umbrella” but lost track around 400 steps. Don’t hesitate to ask for specific directions! Other/Various - there was a good sized pool a dozen steps or so from the back door with plenty of poolside space with chairs and a few tables. Please note - there are landscaping/pool caretakers who are there most mornings. The full-size washer & dryers (with detergent provided) were daily life-changers. We only had one vehicle, and we took full advantage of parking in both spaces out front. Recommendation - highly recommend this property to others! It was very convenient and met our needs and expectations as first time visitors to HHI. One thing I also wanted to note was the warm welcome package & note left for us prior to arrival. It’s a really nice touch and as someone who had just driven many hours, it was even more appreciated. The text messages were also a great example of the communication & responsiveness of the management team.
