This location was perfect for our group of 5 ladies. Very spacious, kitchen was well-stocked with dishware, cookware, utensils, etc. Lots of extra towels and blankets. Beds were very comfortable. The view was outstanding! Wall of east-facing windows with a view across the bay and on to the Cascades, framed by madrona trees. The sunrise and evening moonrise, led us to the large deck for endless photo shoots. The south-island location was close to so many beautiful walks and beaches, and yet still close to Lopez Village for stops at the market and coffee shops.Highly recommend, and would stay again!

We had such a lovely time at this property. The home is very comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and the view is spectacular. We spent every sunrise down by the water watching wildlife (harbor seals, otters, herons, ducks, and deer)! The only thing that would have improved this property is use of the kayaks locked up on the beach to explore mud bay. I would 100% stay at this property again.

This beautiful home was the perfect place to stay on Lopez Island. It encapsulated the feeling of the island. The location was great. The view was spectacular! We really enjoyed our little bit of beach area. We certainly hope to be able to return.

Spacious Lake House

This was a wonderful and pleasantly surprising spacious home. The views of the lake from the living and dining room was amazing at both sunrise and sunset. The home was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend.

Unruh reunion

Loved our stay, very spacious and comfortable. Our family enjoyed the deck and hammock. Loved the big dining table for family dinners. Just wish we could have had some kayaks or canoes at the house. Would recommend this location. Thank you!!!

Dear Anonymous, Thank you so much for the excellent review. Because of the waters around Lopez Islands and the waves and turbulence nearby, we feel there is a potential liability for the owner if they supply kayaks or canoes. Some of the guests do bring their own watercraft type items, or rent them in the village. Because we do not know the water skills of our guests, we feel we cannot supply kayaks and canoes. Views!

Great house for our family of four. Had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well equipped. The views are spectacular. The kids enjoyed exploring the rocks and beach down below the house and all the games in the house. And I loved that it had a roomba. So nice to come home to a clean house everyday after exploring.

Amazing property

Greatly enjoyed our time here overlooking Mud Bay. We were treated to a pair of eagles putting on an aerial acrobatic show just off our deck that seemed to go on forever. There is plenty of parks and hikes within just a few minutes. If you brought your own kayaks it would be an way to base your explorations.

Beautiful, Secluded View

The view is what this house is all about. The beds, pillows, etc were comfortable and cozy. There are some things that the property managers could/should take care of. I recognize that it rains and can get muddy from Mud Bay, however, when people have rented to stay there, it seems that the outside adirondack chairs need some TLC as does the main floor bathroom. There was also a window blind in the back bedroom that feel off, when we tried to lift it up. Otherwise, the house well appointed and the view is magnificent.

Not what we hoped for..

Unfortunately we checked out this rental early so we could spend some time with friends elsewhere but also as we had so many issues with the rental. We had to clean much of the house upon arrival. The downstairs floor had to re-swept along with the downstairs bathroom floor and that bathroom shower floor was dirty, had clumps of hair in the drain and looked like cleaner was sprayed but just left there and not scrubbed nor rinsed down the drain. Upstairs bathroom had to be swept of hair, dead bugs including flies and bees. Like much of the house, the dishwasher was outdated and needed a serious cleaning or better yet, full replacement as it did not clean dishes well causing us to rewash dishes. The dish sink strainers also had food in them and weren't cleaned out. The greater concern was the Poison Hemlock plants that were all over the property that we weren't made aware of was and we had a 10 year old with us who almost went exploring through a bunch of it! Someone had cut a bunch of the Hemlock down and left it in piles right by the back entrance. The Hammock was not very useful as when anyone laid in it, the netting would open up causing you to fall through it to the ground. Those issues along with us not being able to use the Kayak boats or being to enjoy the outdoor firepit did not make this rental enjoyable nor as impressive as we read about it for the money we had paid and we have been renting from VRBO for 30+ years.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. We sincerely apologize for the aspects of your experience that did not meet your expectations. We are committed to providing our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and it's clear we fell short in this instance. Regarding the cleanliness issues, we regret that the property did not meet our usual high standards. Although our inspection manager personally inspected the cleaning, it appears that some areas may have been overlooked. We appreciate you bringing these to our attention, and we will review our cleaning procedures to ensure a more thorough preparation of this home for all future guests. Please be assured that the debris was from non-toxic ocean spray plants, not Poison Hemlock. However, we recognize the importance of clear communication about the flora on our property for the safety and peace of mind of our guests. Regarding the hammock, we are assessing whether to replace or remove it to ensure our guests' comfort and safety. We are evaluating the dishwasher to ensure a better experience for future guests. We regret that the fire pit could not be used due to the local burn ban, we hope you were able to enjoy the gas fire pit available on the deck. As for the kayaks, we do mention in our marketing materials that they are not available for use due to safety concerns. Had we been notified of these issues during your stay, we would have done everything possible to resolve them promptly.

Lovely house on Lopez Island

The view is beautiful, the house is as pictured. Very private area. The wifi at the house was appreciated, given the notoriously rough cell service on the island.

Relaxing spring break island escape

Our family enjoyed a pleasant week on the island at this lovely and comfortable home. The location was convenient, the views from the living space were beautiful, and the house was nicely furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen. We would stay here again. An earlier review noted that the beds were uncomfortable, but the reviewer was not specific. The mattresses were firm and comfortable, so no complaints as we don't like sleeping on marshmallows.

Amazing location and house, bad beds

We loved this house and its location, marred only by its bad beds. The master bedroom was so awful that I dreaded going to bed & would toss & turn all night. My son reported that the couch was better than the gameroom bed. But the outdoor furniture was wonderful and kitchen was well stocked. The view was outstanding and it was easy to drop kayaks into the bay from the property. Horrible to pay this kind of money & not be able to sleep! Other than the beds issue, this is an outstanding home.

Perfect Lopez Location

We loved this house. It was our first time staying in the south end of the island and we loved the quiet. I spent quite a bit of time too sling around Mud Bay. Best part was cocktails on the deck at water level.

We had a wonderful time for our first visit to the San Juan's. Very pleased with the house and property - perfect for our stay. Beautiful view!! We did receive instructions about how to use the hot tub but no hot tub on the property.
