Cozy Beach Getaway With a View!! Refreshed for 2025!!

This is a family beach located in Emerald Isle, NC. The house is a duplex; one side is the rental unit and the other side is for the owner's use. Very quiet location and super relaxing but also a short drive to several great towns with shopping and dining. The house sits high up and has great ocean views from the covered porch! There are stairs from the yard to the street, then only about 3 houses down to the beach access stairs. Super convenient!

This cottage was absolutely perfect and the listing is accurate. It was well stocked, very clean and welcoming. The hosts were also on site for a part of my stay and were delightful. Thank you. I hope to revisit in the future !

Vacation

The house is very comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. It is located on the second row only a short walk to the beach. You can see the ocean from the living room couch. We saw a dolphin from the back porch. The beds were comfortable. We really liked the “hidden” kitchen table drawers where the utensils were kept. The greenery in front of the house provided privacy and a sound barrier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely home

This duplex style house is conveniently located near the beach and with everything else. House is private and quiet. Got everything we needed. I love the back yard lounge chairs to just hang out with friends / chat. Watch sunset. Enjoy the ocean wind. We all slept well. One thing I regret is I didn’t book the trip longer. - maybe next time!

Good location

If you are out to enjoy a good neighborhood and outdoor activities,- it is a perfect spot to be! House interior and study of supplies were very lovely. Unfortunately, we vacationed at the property at the hurricane time and mostly stayed inside. Strong smell of the mold was unevitable.

Quiet beach remedy

This property was perfect for me. I was looking for something with an old beach cottage feel on a section of beach without high rises or condominiums. I was able to sit on the back deck and watch the ocean while reading or enjoying a meal. It was a very peaceful location with a very short walk to the beach.

a great week!

We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and sitting on the outdoor patio watching the waves feeling the breeze. We all slept great, too. The cottage was cozy and we had everything we needed.

You don't REALLY want to stay here do you?

It is with reticence that I write this review. I will regret it. Deeply regret it. I want to tell you not to rent this place. I want to tell you the view was terrible; that Paul, the owner, was unaccommodating. I want to tell you this place was not charming, not comfortable, and that we had a terrible time. I want to tell you it was not perfect, not romantic, not at all a great week. I want to tell you these things. But I cannot. Not with a clear conscience at any rate. Because you see the thing is, Melissa and I want to come back, back to this very place. The place where we watched the moon set on a cloudless night, the place where we saw an endless stream of satellites quietly speed by overhead while we traced out constellations with a flashlight. The place where we marveled at the vivid lightning show fifty miles offshore safe in the knowledge it was not coming our way. And we want to come back again. And again. But dear reader, prudent and savvy VRBO user that you are… If I tell you how great our week was, well, then YOU will want to rent the Cents and Centsability. And I am not sure how I feel about that. Maybe we feel like we want to keep this genie bottled up for ourselves. Because you see, we have not figured out next summer yet. Or this fall. Or next spring. But maybe you have. And maybe you will rent the week we want. Or maybe you will wreck our growing thoughts of “What might TWO weeks in Emerald Isle be like?… Or three? OR EVEN A MONTH?…” So please, I beg you. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE. Because, well, it is just that awesome. Thanks Paul… It was a tremendous week. We will be back.

Perfect weekend getaway location!

This duplex was the perfect place to spend my 40th birthday with my mom and sisters! It was so quaint, clean, and quiet. The patio was perfect for relaxing and for enjoying meals with lovely views - I watched many a dolphin swim by!! The outdoor shower was a great perk to keep sand out of the house. Beach access was easy and quick to get to. Paul was a great host and very attentive and easy to get ahold of. We all loved our stay so much and feel so relaxed! This vacation home is on our favorites list and we’ll for sure be back!

Great weekend getaway

Very close to the beach. Short driving distance to restaurants, PuttPutt and the Aquarium. Comfortable for a family getaway.

Great week

Property was ideal for a couple looking for a quiet week. Owners occupancy of other half was not intrusive at all. Privacy fence on front porch separating the two units' respective sections would make sense. Listing could more openly identify the photo taken towards the ocean from the front porch as that view, not a photo of the property itself.

Lovely stay!

Great little place with a beautiful of the ocean in between houses. Property was exactly as listed and just what we needed for our stay. Exceptionally clean. A bit longer of a walk to the beach than expected, but still manageable. Love the addition of the outdoor shower! Owner is very quick to respond if you need anything. Would definitely stay here again.
