Classic ocean front cottage

Summary:

The Cahill is a classically, beautiful 7 bedroom, 3 bath, oceanfront cottage overlooking the short sands bay. Relax and enjoy the ocean view on the large wrap-around porch and watch the boats go by. You are an easy walk to both the Nubble Lighthouse, Short Sands Beach and the busy downtown area.



The Space:

The Cahill features a master bedroom on the first floor complete with attached bathroom. There are two living rooms, both surrounded in glass with a picture perfect view of the sea, both have electric/gas fireplaces. One living room has a bar. The kitchen is spacious, modern and complete with all the amenities you could want. The dining room includes a long dining table with seating for 8 and another table that seats 4. In the kitchen, there is a kitchen island that seats 4 and a high top table that seats 2. The remaining 6 bedrooms are on the second floor divided by two separate wings. Washer/dryer, cable, wifi, yard space, bbq area with an outside dining table, and parking for four cars is included.



Coastal breezes, the sights of soaring ocean gulls, sounds of gentle waves on the rocks. Explore and experience the Cahill. We offer our guests comfortable, coastal style accommodations. We are a favorite York Beach destination.



We book the Cahill on a weekly basis in the summer season, from Sunday to Sunday. During the remainder of the year, there is a 3 day minimum stay required. Self check-in and check-out. Bed sizes are 2 kings, 1 queen, 3 doubles and 2 twins.



The Neighborhood:

Ocean front community with a beautiful view of Short Sands Beach. You can walk to York Sands center for restaurants, fun and shopping!



Getting Around:

Guests can walk, bike, take the trolley, Uber/Lyft or ride in their cars. Downtown and at the town beaches there is plenty of parking.



Other Things to Note:

The Cahill is booked on a weekly basis from Sunday to Sunday during the summer season. During the off season you may reserve any time but we do have a three-day minimum.



Linens and towels are included.

Ocean Views

Views were amazing from morning to night. Plenty of room to spread out and either have your own space or be with the entire family. There were a couple of minor inconveniences, but nothing that would make us not book this home again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely would stay there again.

Perfect location!

The property was even nicer than the photos. It was a great place to hang out and relax with plenty of space for our group of 12, but the option to walk into town past the beach and the water was a highlight of our stay.

Great location house needs updating

The location could not be any better. The deck is beautiful. But the interior of house needs lots of work. Ancient air conditioners, uncomfortable furniture, older carpet that smelled damp.

Had not be cleaned in a long time!

I have never stayed in a place that was so dirty! It was truly awful. The price was a complete rip-off and the owner should be ashamed of the house but clearly does not care.

My group & I had a wonderful stay at Don's property. The listing was completely accurate and the location was even more stunning than what we could've asked for! Don & his team made us feel extremely welcome and were responsive to our questions and accommodating to any requests we had. I would definitely recommend staying here or at any of Don's beach front properties - I hope to come back in the warmer weather!

A wonderful week in York

The property was lovely and the host very responsive and made it extra special by having fresh sunflowers and a delicious cake upon our arrival. Gorgous wrap around porch with white rockers and a view of the Atlantic. We all loved it❤️

Great location with breathtaking views!

The location of this house can't get any better. The house faces the ocean with unobstructed views, the sound of waves crashing, and birds chirping. We spent most mornings enjoying our coffee on the wrap around porch. It is a 7 min walk to Short Sands beach which sits adjacent to a park that has basketball courts and a large playground. The York, ME shops & restaurants are nearby too. Our kiddos loved riding their bikes down to the town and going to Fun-O-Rama to play arcade games. The kitchen is well equipped with a new stove, new fridge, toaster and coffee maker. As there were four families at the house, we all took turns cooking dinner and had most everything we needed to prepare our meals. Don, the owner, was extremely accommodating letting us check-in slightly early and surprising us with a very tasty cheesecake to welcome us. When we needed something or had any questions Don was extremely responsive. We were disappointed to learn that the exterior siding of the house was under repair and therefore contractors were at the house for 3 days of our stay. Also, some of the bed sizes in the property description didn't match what was physically in the house - this was inconvenient because we had to bring our own sheets. Overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Rivers By The Sea is a successful full-service real estate agency focusing on sales, rentals, property management and development, and residential mortgage services. Don participates as an active member of the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Maine Tourism Association, and is an acting member to the York Beach Renaissance Committee. Don and his wife live in York Beach and have three adult children and five grandchildren.
