Luna's Retreat: Downtown Sister Bay

Located in a beautiful wooded neighborhood a 5 minute walk to downtown Sister Bay! Completed in May of 2021. A bright kitchen, complete with a breakfast nook and walk-in pantry, opens into the family room and bar area. Cozy up by the fireplace inside or out! You will love the double-sided fireplace in the screened porch that leads to a yard, with outdoor games and firepit area. Free level 2 EV charger in the garage.

--------Parking--------
• Parking is ONLY allowed in the driveway (maximum of 4 cars in the driveway)
• NO parking on the streets surrounding the property per city rules.
• No parking in the garage or on the grass
• Violations to parking rules can result in fines for guests and host and jeopardize our ability to rent our home.
• As with all rules, breaking parking rules can result in up to immediate eviction with no refund. Under no conditions can these parking rules be violated.
• If you cannot guarantee that all guests can abide by these parking rules please do not book.

------Garbage------
• Garbage bins are outside of the garage. We have garbage service that will come and pick up garbage at the house on Tuesdays.
• Garbage cannot overflow. If items do not fit, please leave for the next pick-up.

-----Other Rules-----
• Quiet hours of 10pm to 10am
• Fireworks and firearms are always prohibited
• No fires allowed outside of backyard firepit, please keep fires manageable and only use firewood in firepit.
• Pets must always be leashed, and pet owners must adhere to minimum pet noise
• No illegal activity is permitted on the property
• No campers or boats allowed on the property
• All guests and visitors of guests must follow all of these rules
• Renter is responsible for missing or damaged items

Occupants may be cited or fined by the Village or immediately evicted for violating any of the above listed rules.

This property is absolutely outstanding! The moment you walk in, the serene, zen-inspired interior makes you feel instantly relaxed. The home is beautifully furnished, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The living areas are inviting, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms are large with plenty of counter space and storage—perfect for longer stays.The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need if you’d rather stay in and cook, and there are so many cozy spots throughout the house to relax. We especially loved the screened-in porch—it quickly became our favorite spot for morning coffee, afternoon reading, and even dog naps!Speaking of dogs, we brought our sweet Golden Retriever and couldn’t have asked for a better setup. There was plenty of space for her kennel at night, and she was just as comfortable as we were. The house is truly dog-friendly without sacrificing style or cleanliness.The location is fantastic—tucked away in a quiet area, yet just a short walk to the main street in Sister Bay with its shops, restaurants, and waterfront. It’s the best of both worlds: peaceful and private, but close to everything.The host was wonderful—responsive, organized, and made the booking and check-in process so easy. Every detail has been thought of, and it shows.We’re already looking forward to our next stay. Highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Door County!

We had a great stay at Luna’s retreat. It was very clean and well stocked! Only points of growth were that there was no tissue boxes (but lots of paper towel and toilet paper!) and the bath towels could use a refresh. Otherwise a really wonderful place to stay and can’t beat the location!

We will definitely be back!

This was the perfect place to stay for our family vacation in Door County! The location was so convenient to most of our favorite spots but nice and quiet when we needed downtime. I am a stickler for cleanliness and Luna’s Retreat did not disappoint. The beds were comfy and the family gathering areas (great room, screened porch and backyard fire pit) made it very easy to hang out. The best part? We were able to bring our two dogs! There are three full bathrooms so getting ready in the mornings was a breeze. We have always rented homes from a local Door County company (sometimes getting musty smelling places in the process) but everything about this rental home was superior. My husband wants to rent Luna’s Retreat again next year!

Fabulous 50th Wedding Anniversary

My sister and I rented this property for a big family vacation to celebrate our parents 50th Anniversary. The property was perfect for our group. The kids enjoyed the bunks, games, and backyard fire pit. The kitchen was well equipped to cook for our large group. The family room was comfortable for everyone and we enjoyed the screened in porch for each meal.

Sister Bay Get-away

We had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful, very clean and had everything to make the stay so very pleasant! The location is close to town. We enjoyed walking everyday! Absolutely perfect!

The house is amazing. It was in the perfect location and was everything and more than we expected. The items provided were way more than any other VRBO we have stayed at. Communication was outstanding.

Beautiful home!

This new home is just beautiful. Everything is sparkly clean. I have never experienced a more well-stocked vrbo Home. Beds and pillows were very comfy. It has a huge screened in porch, along with a fire pit. Communication with the owners before and during our stay was prompt and responsive. It’s located about a half a mile from downtown Sister Bay. We highly recommend it!

Perfect Sister Bay Getaway

We had a fantastic stay at Luna’s retreat. The home is perfect location to all activities and restaurants in sister bay. The home was well equipped with anything you need from cooking, amble seating for relaxing, fire pit and fire place, etc.

Exceeded expectations

Everything about the rental process and our stay went great. The house was beautiful inside, well-furnished and very accommodating for our group. The house was spotless, bedrooms had extra pillows, bathrooms complete with the needed toiletries, and the kitchen/pantry stocked with needed utensils, cookware, and dishes. Wonderful great room with large windows offering nice view of a tree lined backyard. Our group had so much fun we are returning next year only this time for three nights instead of two. BTW, Caley and Mark, the owners were great to work with. Very responsive to questions, and genuinely concerned about making our trip the best. Highly recommend.

Fall Wedding

Lovely Stay

We loved our stay. Immaculate property and quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to Sister Bay. The fire pit was wonderful as was the outdoor fireplace porch. Great communication with the owners and no issues with parking. Thank you for your hospitality!

Daughter’s Wedding at The Northern Haus

Amazing House

We really enjoyed staying at the house for my stepdaughters wedding. The house was beautiful, family friendly and so comfortable. Location was walking distance to town and beach. We loved the screened in porch with the outdoor fireplace and spent every evening relaxing out there. The Sunday after the wedding we all got together at the house for the Packers-Bears game and played games and had a fire in the fire pit area. The kitchen was beautiful too and we’ll equipped. I would stay again for absolutely sure!

Extended Family Vacation

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Caley & Mark's beautiful home. There was plenty of room for all 12 of us. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and firepit! One day we took advantage of the air hockey, shuffle board and bag games and had a family tournament. It was really fun. We also loved being in walking distance to the lakefront, restaurants and shops. Overall it was a terrific stay!

WONDERFUL!!!

Second stay at this beautiful property. The owners have a lovely property for families to have time together in beautiful surroundings, close to beach, restaurants, shopping, etc. Second stay here as perfect as the first one last summer.

Overall incredible stay

They definitely need a new housekeeper. Dirty fridge, glasses, plates and the silverware had food stuck to it. Coffee pot was also really gross. Used bandaids stick on the sofa and overall looked like it needs a deep clean. We washed all the dishes when we arrived and wiped it all down and vacuumed. Linens were clean so that was a saving Grace not having to do laundry upon arrival. Everything else was wonderful. Get a new housekeeper to clean and it’s a five star! Location. Size. Amenities. All great.

Perfect for family vacation

Door County, specifically Sister Bay, is our destination every other year for our family vacation. Luna’s Retreat was perfect in every way for us. Ideal location, great layout with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We had six adults, three children, 6 and under. Beautiful, clean, spacious, well stocked. Screened in porch with fireplace amazing feature.

Fantastic home!

Everything you would need is in this home. Family reunion here- 4 small families. Had hikes, group dinners, s’mores around the fire pit. Two blocks from Main Street in Sister Bay- very walkable.

Great house, great location

We stayed at Luna’s Retreat with 5 couples to celebrate a birthday. The house was clean and had plenty of space for all. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities. Our only regret is that the weather wasn’t warmer, so we could enjoy the outdoor space. Everyone in the group really enjoyed their stay and we are already planning on making an annual trip to Lina’s Retreat.

We live in Madison, WI and have two kids and our mini golden-doodle, Luna. Caley teaches K-2 Music and loves doing interior design. Mark works in IT and can be found on the golf course when the snow melts!

We grew up going to Door County with our families. Now with two young boys of our own, we want to create those memories for our family (including our beloved dog) and others to enjoy. We loved the fact that this lot was quiet and wooded, and still only a five minute walk to downtown Sister Bay.
