Family Weekend

This house exceeded expectations in every way! There was something there to entertain all ages, and we were incredibly comfortable! We will be returning annually if Taylor will have us. If you’re looking for a house in Rockwall, you’ve found it! If you don’t need to visit Rockwall, do it anyway, just to stay here!

Great location!

The view of the lake is stunning! The facilities could use some work, but overall this was a wonderful place for vacation. Very close to many restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and expected two fully functioning kitchen’s, however the refrigerator and the dishwasher in the 2nd house do not work. We had to haul coolers of ice down for cold drinks and wash coffee cups etc by hand. Nothing that killed us, just would have liked to have had chilled water and sodas for everyone throughout the stay. Note also that there is only 1 shower. The lower house has a tub and a hand held, the upper has a shower in the front of the house and a wonderful soaking tub in the master.

Amazing view, amazing home, amazing everything.

There is so much to love about this beautiful home and it will be hard to summarize in just one post. From the breathtaking view, great location, no hassle check in process, amenities, beautiful properties, the tidbits of the property history provided by the hosts and the mementos placed around the two properties that show everlasting memories from the family. Those are some of the examples that stood out among other good ones. But for me, the one that really stood out was our host attention and willingness to provide everything we needed, and believe me you’ll find anything you’ll need to make your life easier and enjoy the house as the hostess intended. Communication was great too, and even though it was New Years weekend, the host was always there if we needed her. In conclusion, I have nothing but compliments to our hosts and to this beautiful home, and encourage future guests to enjoy as we did.

Beautiful Estate ⭐️ Million Dollar View

We originally scheduled our stay at The Matriarch as a staycation while having repairs done to our home. During our stay, Taylor was always available to accommodate any needs or issues. The estate has so much history & my husband being interested in both science & history; found it so moving that we were staying somewhere where a NASA team worked from the garage on Lunar Rovers to be tested while Lake Ray Hubbard was in process of being “made”. Turns out the clay like surface layers down in Ray Hubbard was closest to the moon surface & worked perfectly for testing the Lunar Rovers which were worked on in the very garage of this beautiful home. There are breathtaking photos tucked here & there that show children on the steps of The Matriarch from the late ‘60s or early ‘70s; a photo with what appears to be the grandfather & son in the front flower garden near a statue that still stands on the property. It’s incredibly humbling to see such a beautiful family with these memories growing up in this home….AND LETS NOT FORGET THE VIEW!!!! The history alone was amazing. The home is stocked with everything a family could need/want to stay comfortable, entertained & interactive (things to do together) which is so important on family stays. The pictures simply do not do justice, this property is beautiful, well maintained & very professionally managed. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling through, or to any family trying to maintain a level of comfort while making repairs to make your home comfortable again. Taylor, I hope you received my message personally thanking you. We had just received some terrible news right before our stay & you made this time that could have been so difficult for us much easier by your quick (immediate) responses & flexibility with our dates. We will always remember our stay & hope we have the privilege of staying again! Thank you & property managers/owners for sharing a piece of [your] their “home” with my family. Stunning lake view property with fabulous accommodations.

When you take one step inside this homestead and are immediately transported to comfort, relaxation and a sense of awe, you know you’ve hit the jackpot picking out a special place for a special family gathering. Between the main house, a guest house and a huge backyard complete with a very large deck, fabulous fire pit and a fun croquet area, our family had the best time being able to spend a couple nights together over the holidays. The homes are very clean, with generous and high end furnishings, bedding, linens, etc. The guest house made us all think of an exquisite French country cottage, and it was easy to get lost in time admiring all the beautiful antiques. It’s difficult to relay just how impressive everything was, and how blessed we were to have enjoyed such a special place together. Thanks so much for making us feel spoiled! And Happy New Year!

Rockwall on the lake

Went to Texas for a dog show.friends stayed with us at this lovely location and we really enjoyed this stay at this relaxing house.the house was well stocked, the manager easily contacted and responsive,and very comfortable stay.

COMBS FAMILY STAY

Awesome weekend with the family. Loved the space, peace and quietness. We enjoyed a weekend of sports and fellowship with a great lake view. The guys loved the house and slept/rested very well. Great Stay!

Wedding Memories

I'm not sure I can adequately summarize our stay at this magnificent property. We booked this party for three days for my sons wedding for family and the groomsmen. Every single aspect of our stay was beyond our expectations. We are frequent VRBO fliers and Taylor by far has been the best host yet as she was prompt with responses, gracious and accommodating. Although the property is old, it was immaculate and has been beautifully updated yet maintained the rich history. It was clean and had everything we need. One of the guests was a music major and entertained us on the grand piano while we chatted and played pool. We had every sleeping area filled yet not one felt cramped in this expansive property which even accommodated all our vehicles.. Best of all, we felt safe and our property secure with the front security gate. Even Porter the ring puppy felt welcome.. We will stay again and I recommend this property without hesitation. Thank You Taylor for helping to create lasting fond memories on this joyous occasion!
