Very peaceful house and lake. Experienced power out in the evening but owner acted promptly and power back in a few hours. Didn't expect that speed in such remote area.

The cabin was perfect for our family of five. Beautiful, peaceful property. Loved the view of the lake (and the loons), kayaks and fire pit. It was a fantastic home base for our family to explore Pictured Rocks and the surrounding area. Property owner was also wonderful to work with. I've now personally recommended the property to many of my friends!

Fantastic location, isolated yet near enough (25 minutes) to everything from shopping to hiking to fishing. What really amazed us was how incredibly clean the house was! I have a son who is terrified of spiders and a spouse that is terribly allergic to mold and dust. Everyone was good! I highly recommend this cabin :)

Fantastic wooded lake escape

We had an absolutely perfect time at Loon Landing. The cottage itself was very roomy with beautiful views out the sliding door and windows. We weren't tripping over each other and everyone had space to spread out. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on with plenty of nice fluffy pillows. We loved having a big table to spread out on for 3 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom was spacious but shower was cramped, though the water was nice and hot. The washer and dryer are huge, lots of room to wash beach towels! All the little details were very considerate - rags for wiping down outdoor chairs, paper towels, cleaning supplies (if you made a mess), hair dryer, non-skid big rugs at entrances to avoid tracking in dirt with 5 pairs of shoes, tons of utensils. We enjoyed some of the board games. The decor was tasteful and homey. It was a great location to be near Munising but away from the hustle and bustle. We loved the firepit, it was very comfortable to relax after long days exploring. Wagner falls and alger falls are on the way to town and are beautiful stops. I highly recommend Miner's beach and climbing the north cliff walls. Sandy Point beach was very serene and shallow, great for very young kids. Would love to again on our next trip, because we will definitely be back! Ps. Miner's Mini golf and ice cream shoppe on M28 is great course and the most delicious creamy ice cream I have ever had! Pps. Muldoon's in Munising has delicious pasties!

The perfect cabin

We did not want to leave this place! The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how clean it felt! Then how charming it was! This fit our family of 7 - 2 adults, 5 kids (ages 13-2) perfectly! We loved playing the board games, playing on the dock and in the water, and using it as a home base to explore a lot of areas within an hour of the house. The kitchen was well stocked and so was the bathroom necessities and blankets for the beds. You will love your stay here! The home is even more charming than the pictures portray. We hope to return one day. We stayed in several different houses during our UP road trip and this cabin was everyone’s favorite!

Beautiful Setting

Cozy Cottage!

This cottage exceeded our expectations! It was clean and cozy (lots of extra blankets for the cool nights). Beds were comfy and the living room was perfect for a family movie night while it rained. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed—highly recommend making blueberry pancakes with fresh-picked wild blueberries from out front of the property! The lake is so quiet and serene…we were the only ones out kayaking and boating most days/nights! Our 7 year old loved using the kayaks and paddle boat. The little storage house with extra life jackets was a nice surprise. We brought our own, but having spares while ours dried was nice. The location was perfect! Quick 15 minute drive to Munising and less than hour to most other waterfalls, beaches and awesome sights. Thank you for sharing your cozy cabin in the woods with our family of four. We made some wonderful lifelong memories this week!

Pictured Rocks Vacation

We enjoyed our stay, the lake was very quiet at all times of the day, the beach was nice and clean as was the lake water, we enjoyed fishing on the lake. The location was very convenient to Munising, which had everything we needed while we were on vacation. The area is beautiful with so many beautiful beaches to visit and so many pretty hikes within an hour. We appreciated the opportunity to stay in a cabin, we have previously always camped. It was nice to be able to go sit on the dock or by the firepit after a long day hiking. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay.

Private Peaceful Getaway

This was our second peaceful stay at Mirror Lake. The home was clean and comfortable. We loved seeing the loons, kingfishers, frogs, and osprey fly-by. We swam and kayaked our cares away. Valerie is a wonderful and accommodating host. Highly recommend this lovely getaway.

Girls trip

The property was perfect for our girls trip, fire pit area was great for sitting around and chatting. Unfortunately the weather didn’t allow for a fire. Inside, plenty of room for us to spread out in the living room or gather around the dining table for food and games. Very quick response from Valerie with any questions. Would definitely go back if our travels have us in the area again

Great family vacation on this property

This property was exactly as promised. Kitchen was fully stocked, extremely clean and orderly house and great outdoor area for a campfire. The owner was quick to respond to questions. So glad we chose this location for our family vacation. Will definitely keep it in mind for the future.

Idyllic U.P. Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay and hope to return again! Perfect, private access to the clear water lake. Access to kayaks, row boat and paddle boat were highlights. Our family enjoyed swimming off of the dock. Ample easy swimming for kids along the dock side and deeper water just a short swim further out made it fun for everyone. The fire pit and picnic table area was wonderful for evening grill outs and family time. We had a few awesome wildlife encounters! Loons, turtles, ducks, many fish (bring your fishing gear!), deer. Cozy, welcoming and very clean home. Bedrooms are comfortable with comfortable beds. Living room was spacious with seating for our whole party. Dining area and kitchen were well appointed. We had everything we needed and more. Full board game cabinet too! Considerations, none of which were problematic for our stay but may help with planning. Last mile of road to the house is packed sand/gravel (easy in 4WD vehicle or SUV). The bathroom is 3 steps up from the main level and may pose difficulty for persons with mobility limitations—railings/grab bars are nicely placed.

Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Mirror Lake. The location was peaceful. The cabin was clean, well equipped, very comfortable and inviting. The kayaks were great. We enjoyed paddling around the lake, relaxing while enjoying the solitude. We were able to see a variety of interesting bird species, turtles, dragonflies, squirrels, rabbits, etc.. Great place! Would highly recommend Loon Landing on Mirror Lake.

Absolutely loved our stay!!!

This home was so amazing! The first thing I noticed when entering was how clean it smelled, not like chemicals or cleaners, just fresh and inviting. The home is well kept and had everything we needed to cook, and relax. We loved fishing from the private dock and watching the sunsets over the lake. The bathroom is a good size, however, the stand up shower is extremely tight. We are not big people and it was difficult for us to lift our arms to wash our hair, but the rest of the house was so amazing that it was a small price to pay. We went at the end of September so it was cold, but the gas fireplace kept us very cozy. There is also a heater that could be controlled remotely, so Valerie had the place warmed up for us when we got there. The only trouble we had was finding the house. If you type the address into GPS it takes you to the wrong house. The actual house is a little farther down. The house is on a dirt road off of a dirt road, and we loved how quiet it was and how secluded it felt! Do yourself a favor and go outside after dark and look up at the stars! I've never seen so many! We had such a great time in the area visiting all the area waterfalls and the Pictured Rocks. We felt that the location of this home was very central to everything that we wanted to do. Nothing was more than an hour away. We visited Marquette, Grand Marais, Manistique and everything felt close. Unfortunately, It rained most of our time in the area so we did not get to utilize the boats provided or the outdoor fire pit. If we ever make our way back up to the UP we will be staying here again!!!

Perfect House on Mirror Lake!

A great early October getaway to the UP in a remote, cozy lake house with peak colors, great views and amenities. Close to Pictured Rocks many waterfalls and great hikes. Enjoyed the peace & quiet, the star gazing and solitude. Main floor bed was clean & comfortable, stand-up shower was pleasantly hot with great water pressure. House looked recently renovated, well maintained and the owners have it setup well for guests. No cell service but very strong wifi & streaming. Kayaks, paddle boat, canoe & life vests were available for our use which were very much appreciated. Good restaurants nearby (Tracey's in Munising) & good communications with owner. Overall perfect vacation!

Back country oasis

The cabin was clean and setup beautifully. Took advantage of the four available kayaks, and peddle boat to explore around the quaint Mirror Lake. The outdoor patio layout was great with a nice size fire pit area stocked with seating for at least five people. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials including a weber charcoal grill on the patio. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable. The only inconvenience is that if you are a larger person the shower stall is a little snug. This is a cabin that we will visit again.

Mirror Lake Escape

The photos on VRBO are accurate but they don’t fully capture the wonderful, peaceful, and gorgeous lakefront setting. Kayaks were provided and we used them daily. The cottage was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The location is perfect for visiting Munising and nearby sites and waterfalls. The hosts were the best! We plan to return.

Even better in person

Cabin was clean and plenty spacious for us and our two kids. The lake was clean and great for swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking. We caught a lot of fish but all were small bluegill, we didn’t see any other type of fish in the lake all week. The cabins living, dining, and kitchen were much larger and nicer in person. The back deck was great for relaxing and reading and the fire pit was great for nighttime fires and marshmallow roasting. We had great weather and got a lot of use out of the kayaks, (nice old town kayaks), and paddle boat which was also newer and in great shape. Only note for future renters is the shower stall is very tight and may not work for larger individuals.

We have been life-long visitors to Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. After purchasing this wonderful cabin in fall of 2020, we are so happy we can now begin living our dream of owing a piece of this natural beauty that is Munising, Michigan, and at the same time being able to share it with others as well!
