Family and friends retreat spot with beautiful views of Jimmies Creek (near mile marker 1). Water frontage includes personal sandy beach area and deep water at the end of boat dock. Easy access to main lake with no bridges. Two En suite Master bedrooms with king beds. Bedroom 3 has king bed and bedroom 4 has Day bed and trundle. Bonus space contains a queen bed. Amenities include - Refrigerators (kitchen and bar), dishwasher, gas stove, double convection oven. Microwaves (kitchen and bar), grill, Keurig coffee makers (kitchen and bar), toaster, Kitchenaid mixer, blender, Theater Room, ice maker, lower level family room, and screened porch.

NOTE: Security cameras are in place for monitoring the exterior of property. For guest privacy, motion detection and recording are turned off when guests are present. Cameras monitor: front door, driveway, side of house (property line), backyard (property line), and dock (access point & mechanical shed). The house was nice, no complaints, the manager was easy to communicate with and reasonable. There are only two things I would suggest to the property owners/manager to add/change is that boat docking cleats be added to the dock (at a minimum they could be bolted to the dock guards), and the other is to add to the VRBO listing all the cameras used to monitor the exterior of the property. This latter issue was resolved for me by communicating with the manager that I did not give consent for all the exterior camera monitoring and the cameras were turned off/shutters closed. Again, nice place!

Family Vacation 7/1-7/8 2023

Our family vacations at Lake Gaston every summer. The Cranberry Retreat was perfect for us. This year was extra special as our daughter got engaged on the property at sunrise. Dave was very communicative and made sure that all our needs were met and questions were answered. I highly recommend this property.

Excellent Stay!

Everything was wonderful at the lake house. The PM was incredibly responsive and helpful with any issues we ran into, which we very limited. Would definitely rent again!

Great location, great property

No complaints! We loved the house and the amenities. We had 4 adults and 3 kids under 3. Plenty of space and very comfortable. We kept our boat on the dock. The location was easy water access, we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards!

Annual Lake Gaston trip

Our family of five (5) including 3 boys (ages 9-14) had an amazing stay here. We were able to take full advantage of the theatre room as well as the kayaks and paddle boards! The location was great and had easy access to many open areas for boating and tubing. The owner is very responsive and super helpful. I would highly recommend this house.

Great lake house

Our family stayed for a full week over the 4th of July at the Cranberry Retreat and everything was wonderful! Dave was very thorough and communicated well through email and text about the details of the house. We brought our boat and kept it tied to the side of the dock (new cleats) and although the weekend got pretty busy with traffic/boats/waves, it was fine. It's so nice that he allows renters to use the kayaks and paddleboards (appear brand new!). We would definitely recommend staying here with an amazing water view of Jimmy's creek and the dam from an awesome front room.

Great house for a family vacation

Our entire family had a great vacation at the Cranberry Retreat. The house had pretty much everything you would need and the host could not have been nicer. Check in and check out went smoothly and we would definitely recommend it to other people and we would stay there again. Our only suggestion would be to possibly put stairs at the end of the dock going into the water and also make a note to bring swim shoes. Thank you!

Terrible experience

We were not able to checkin to the property over 1.5 hours after the posted check in time. We had to wait outside in the summer waiting for the house to be ready. When we checked in we had to make the beds for both kings , they were not completed for us on arrival. The docks are located very close to each other (no privacy). The cover dock was no available to use so we had to dock our boat to the front of the dock as all other sides were too shallow for a standard inboard outboard. There is a lot of traffic on the main part of the lake that was no idea for the docking situation. The sandy beach area as miniature leaches in the sand. The neighbor said she even were water shoes. They were all over our feet when we got out of the water. Owner complain and was incredibly rude upon checkout since there were finger prints on the windows. After a 5 day stay that is expected when the entire backside of the house is Sliding glass windows. The disrespect received on a late checking over 1.5 hours and rudeness from the owner we will not be staying here again.

I spent my childhood at Indian Lake in Ohio. Days there with family and friends created lifetime memories. After moving to North Carolina, the goal was to find a place to continue the tradition. The Cranberry Retreat is the result. The name pays homage to The Cranberry Condos.
