On a clear day will find some of the best views of Mt. Rainer and Lake Tapps on this property! Spend quality time in a lake front property within the 45 miles shoreline that Lake Tapps offers! Centrally located between Seattle and Tacoma, this 1,200 square foot, 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is situated on a no bank waterfront. This Pierce County home is located on the southwest shore of the lake.
IMPORTANT: If you would like to book this property, please submit request with message letting us know about your group and why your interested in visiting Lake Tapps.
Specific Information of About This Home:
This is a daylight basement apartment/home with excellent lighting and high ceilings. There is a private separate entrance on the lake side of the home with a private patio that features outside seating/table and two yellow kayaks with life jackets available to explore the lake. Paddle boards and additional blow up water floats are also available upon request. There is also a secure swimming area and lake deck that features the best views of Mt. Rainier. The great room has wonderful lighting with lake views, gas fireplace to keep you warm in winter months and 42 inch screen TV with access to basic cable and Netflix waiting for your viewing pleasures. The full kitchen is connected to the great room with a dining table. There is a larger bedroom that has both a queen bed and one single bed, the second bedroom has larger windows with a queen bed. If you need additional beds you can always use the queen pull out couch in the great room. Bath towels and beach towels provided during your stay. Outdoor and indoor toys provided for quality family time.
Ten Important Things to Consider Before Booking:
1. Host lives on the upper level of this home. As a result, you may hear some level of living noise. There is a secured locked door between two levels thus there are two different defined and separate living spaces in this home.
2. No pets allowed. We have two lovely dogs that may bark when you first arrive, but easily calm down. They are familiar with others living in daylight basement apartment. However, they will not stop barking if there are other animal noises so please leave your pets at your home.
3. Owners may use the yard to access owners second dock with neighbors. Generally, when the sun is out, people are out enjoying the lake on neighboring docks.
4. There is a limit of 5 consistent guests while staying at the lake. You are all our guests, and we want you to enjoy all of what the lake offers. However, please do not bring additional guests to this property. Your guests are not our guests. If this rule is not followed you will be asked to leave.
5. Please note that Lake Tapps is a reservoir that is lowered from late October through late April each year, and motorboat access is unavailable during these months. The lake level lowers approximately 3-5 feet.
6. Please enjoy the lake, but use the lake is at your own risk. Follow all water safety guidelines and supervise all children while outside. Some children and adult lifejackets are available for use but may want to bring your own for proper fit. Life jackets are to be used for all children who do not swim or when using Kayaks and SUP on the lake.
7. It is our goal to provide a high level of privacy for guests. The yard is large and there is a private patio area with seating area and hot tub for guest’s private use. There is also a small dock for your private use while you are our guests, however there is not room for guest private motorboat.
8. There is a limit of two cars. There are two average size car parking locations in the gravel area beside the road. Parking location is about 500 feet from the door and all guests need to be able to navigate 5 steps to the lake side entrance of home.
9. There is no washing machine or clothes dryer located in apartment/home to wash clothing.
10. Quiet Time is between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. We want to respect our neighbors and all the neighboring dogs that hear the noises that travel across the lake.

Jen and Grant are your hosts! The owners have lived in the area for 25 years and both natives of Washington State. We love dogs, boating, hiking and snow skiing. Owners share extensive knowledge of the local area and are more than willing to share our knowledge and recommendations upon guests request.

This property is located close to 45 minutes to Crystal Ski area and great hiking near Mt Rainer. It is about 20 minutes to Tacoma and 45 minute drive to Seattle. If want to visit the City of Seattle and/or Mt. Rainer this is the perfect in between location, while staying on one of the most beautiful lakes in Western Washington. Most people who visit agree the view of the mountain framed by the trees and lake from this property is amazing!

There is a private swimming area and dock available with shared yard access to use two kayaks, paddle board, and various floaties. And of course one of best views of Mt Rainer from the dock! In the Summer months the home stays cool and in the winter months the gas fire place will keep you cozy and warm. There is also a 4 person hot tub for your use on the private patio just out side the private entrance for guests private use.
