This home, once a tobacco barn, has been added to and reinvented many times over the years. Most recently it enjoyed a full overhaul, old bones were reset and brand new amenities like a granite kitchen and tile showers were brought in to help it shine. With a warm and inviting common space as soon as you enter the home, and bedrooms tucked away for privacy, this is a lovely and calm place to bring your family and friends. With Charleston WV only 15 minutes away and Huntington WV only 25, there are many destinations that can be reached easily from this location.

Great place to stay when we visit family. Feels clean and super roomy to even have visitors. Host lives nearby and super friendly. Great for our fur baby too. To future guests- bring your own pillows! :)

We love staying at this property, it was actually our 2nd/3rd time staying for our halfway point on an annual family trip. It’s the perfect location right off the highway - near a gas station, an exit away from restaurants/coffee/grocery. Then place is overall clean & well fenced in the backyard. The bathroom vents could use a good clean and maybe a few more cups but it wouldn’t stop us from staying again. The photos don’t accurately show the 3rd bedroom but there is both a single and a double or queen bed in that room. The owner John is very good at communication!

John is an incredible host and we would stay with him again anytime! We had an unforeseen issue arise shortly before our stay and John responded to us immediately. He went above and beyond and out of his way to make additional accommodations and worked with us to make sure we were taken care of. Can’t say enough good things about John and his place. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay and the property was as described. The host was very attentive and responded quickly with helpful information. There is a bit of road noise being off the highway; however, it was more white noise than disruptive.

Good space. Seamless self checkin. Large kitchen with full sized appliances were helpful for us to cook a meal for 25 folks that we took offsite to a nearby event center. The cons: Plan for a significant amount of jolting street noise at all hours, that cannot be escaped, throughout the home. You are basically at the on-ramp of a highway in An area of the world that loves loud pickup trucks and nighttime street racers. Noise cancelling headphones or earplugs will make your stay so Much more pleasant. The ad says shampoo is provided but it was not. The good news is there are several dollar stores within ten minutes’ drive to buy some. We loved the ample and close parking right by the door. From an accessibility perspective Note there are two steps to get in the entrance and several very steep steps with an unstable handrail, to access the back yard space. Inside there are a couple of transitions between rooms that you need to watch out for. A motorized scooter or wheelchair would be ok on the inside transitions though. There were two cute rocking chairs on the front porch. Also the mosaic shaped like WV, located in the glass shower, is cool. Overall an OK stay that felt safe as a place to lay your head, shower and cook, for meetings in Teays valley or hurricane. Bring your headphones.

Thanks for staying Susan and we hope the refunding of some your money helps. We are addressing some of the issues you mentioned but unfortunately, we have no control of the traffic. The location is a double edged sword as it makes travel very easy but also puts you in earshot of disrespectful motorists. Our only wish is that our guests notify us of any issues during the stay to allow us the grace to fix the issues. We appreciate your patronage and will work on those concerns to help future guests. We were traveling from Charlottesville, VA to Cincinnati Children’s hospital with a quick turn around. This location was super convenient to 64 yet also quiet, comfortable, and restful. Beautifully redecorated with new appliances. Fenced in yard for kiddos or your furry family member. Great restaurants in the area and John is an amazing host!
