Enjoy waking up and tucking in to a panoramic view of the Western Foothills of Maine. The Hidden Gem is located up on a private 100+ acre estate surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests at the end of a dirt road. This log cabin is the perfect quiet getaway for anyone looking to retreat.

The property abuts the ITS82, an extensive trail system which is great for easy access on ATV’s, side by sides and when the winter comes groomed trails for snow machines.

We stayed in this beautiful cabin rental for four nights during our year-end trip and truly loved every moment. The house is cozy, warm, and offers a stunning view through the large glass windows. When it snow, the scenery outside looked absolutely gorgeous. The peaceful and secluded location makes this place feel like a true hidden gem. We felt so relaxed here that we could easily spend days or even months enjoying the calm without doing any snow activities. Leaving this house felt bittersweet because this cabin quickly felt like home. We are incredibly thankful for the hospitality of Amanda and Joshua, who were always responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. On the morning of checkout, there was about eight inches of snowfall overnight, and Joshua kindly cleared the entire driveway as well as our car. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot to us. We are so glad we chose this house and would definitely love to stay here again when we visit this area in the future.

We had a wonderful time here, the cabin is clean well stocked, and very cozy. The view from the windows of the living and dining room are spectacular at any time of day. Our host were very pleasant and helpful. It's located with direct access to ATV trails, within driving distance of beautiful homes, and near a supermarket if you need anything. Overall we will be staying here again!

Amanda goes above and beyond, as always. The place is cute, clean and quiet. She checks in daily to make sure you’ve got everything and to offer goodies around the farm. You’ve definitely found a yearly customer from us!

Breath taking views

Josh and Amanda are fantastic hosts, the home is clean, perfect location to down town. The views are absolutely stunning from morning to nightfall, it’s quiet and relaxing space for family, friends, and we look forward to renting again one day. Short trip but well worth it

The Hidden Gem property is exactly that, a gem. First impressions are that this place is meticulously cleaned and maintained and is just plain awesome. Our group of 4 was there for a brief four wheeling trip and it did not disappoint. We had great weather and the access to the trail could not be any easier. (literally at the end of the driveway.) Communications with Amanda were beyond great and she was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Parking is a little tight if you have trailers but if you can make it work, you will not be disappointed. The view and setting are second to none. The hosts have literally thought of everything and outfitted the cabin with all you will need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. I look forward to renting the Hidden Gem again and would highly recommend you give it a try if you are looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing setting.

Cozy

A family visit to western Maine for some R & R after Christmas. The hidden gem didn’t disappoint. We wanted snow and midway through our visit we got a beautiful blanket of snow! The cabin is close to trails, lovely drives and skiing. We so enjoyed our time in the cabin.

Just what we needed

This property was above and beyond. The owners were kind, attentive, thoughtful, caring and considerate. There was a terrible tragedy in the state right before our trip and Amanda reached out to make sure we were okay. There were the MOST delicious apples I’ve ever had and farm fresh eggs left for us to enjoy. Need a deck of cards? They had it. Forgot a toothbrush? They’ve got you covered. A spare charger? That’s available too. We will be back without a doubt! Thank you so much!

Mexico Wedding

Stayed for the weekend with my spouse, Aunt, Uncle, cousin and Grandfather. The living space and down stairs areas were nice. With only one bathroom one the first floor it was a lot for those having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night from upstairs. But other than that it was a great stay, and great view!

Great mountain cabin

The perfect getaway in an incredibly beautiful part of the world!

The Hidden Gem Cabin was perfect for our needs! The hosts had thought of everything a guest might need - even providing a heating pad to soothe aching muscles after a long day of hiking and frosted beer glasses in the freezer. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, the sofas large and comfortable, and the view was an added bonus.

Truly a hidden gem!

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin. We really enjoyed the cozy, rustic cabin vibes and with great mountain views - it was rainy both nights we stayed which made it feel extra cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking dinner and breakfast. It was very clean and we felt very comfortable. Would definitely stay again if/when we visit the area again - hopefully we'll get drier weather if we come back so we can enjoy the deck, firepit and grill!

Beautiful property, lots of details taken care of.

Great property for a kids ski weekend, very close to Black Mountain. Beautiful views, clean. Wish the master bed was a little bit more comfortable but overall a great experience.

Wonderful winter get away

Our family had such a wonderful stay at this cabin located on a beautiful farm for our ski vacation. The hosts were excellent, provided very thorough communication and even had fresh farm eggs and coffee (for purchase) at the cabin for our arrival that were delicious! Kitchen was perfectly equipped and we did all our meals in with our two small children. There was a significant snow storm during our stay and the owners were great at plowing and shoveling the property in timely fashion. We stayed warm and cozy throughout the storm! Hoping to stay again very soon!

Peaceful mountain weekend

We stayed at Hidden Gem last year and were so happy to return! It was every bit as wonderful as we remembered. Such a beautiful location, and very easy house to be in with our family - comfortable for kids and adults, both. Really appreciate the ease of our interactions, arrival, and stay.
