Enjoy waking up and tucking in to a panoramic view of the Western Foothills of Maine. The Hidden Gem is located up on a private 100+ acre estate surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests at the end of a dirt road. This log cabin is the perfect quiet getaway for anyone looking to retreat.

The property abuts the ITS82, an extensive trail system which is great for easy access on ATV’s, side by sides and when the winter comes groomed trails for snow machines.

It truly is a Hidden Gem! Amanda was so helpful and generous with recommendations!! We came in the fall and Maine did not disappoint! And the views from this cabin were spectacular! After each day of hiking, coming back to the cabin felt like coming home! Comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is very well stocked! We highly recommend The Hidden Gem! We had a wonderful time here, the cabin is clean well stocked, and very cozy. The view from the windows of the living and dining room are spectacular at any time of day. Our host were very pleasant and helpful. It's located with direct access to ATV trails, within driving distance of beautiful homes, and near a supermarket if you need anything. Overall we will be staying here again!

Peaceful mountain weekend

We stayed at Hidden Gem last year and were so happy to return! It was every bit as wonderful as we remembered. Such a beautiful location, and very easy house to be in with our family - comfortable for kids and adults, both. Really appreciate the ease of our interactions, arrival, and stay.

Great property for a kids ski weekend, very close to Black Mountain. Beautiful views, clean. Wish the master bed was a little bit more comfortable but overall a great experience.

Great mountain cabin

It was really relaxing. The place was clean and renovations were nice. The view and starry nights were great. The host was really accommodating, friendly and committed well. I would definitely stay again given the chance.

The perfect getaway in an incredibly beautiful part of the world!

The Hidden Gem Cabin was perfect for our needs! The hosts had thought of everything a guest might need - even providing a heating pad to soothe aching muscles after a long day of hiking and frosted beer glasses in the freezer. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, the sofas large and comfortable, and the view was an added bonus.

Truly a hidden gem!

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin. We really enjoyed the cozy, rustic cabin vibes and with great mountain views - it was rainy both nights we stayed which made it feel extra cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking dinner and breakfast. It was very clean and we felt very comfortable. Would definitely stay again if/when we visit the area again - hopefully we'll get drier weather if we come back so we can enjoy the deck, firepit and grill!

A family visit to western Maine for some R & R after Christmas. The hidden gem didn’t disappoint. We wanted snow and midway through our visit we got a beautiful blanket of snow! The cabin is close to trails, lovely drives and skiing. We so enjoyed our time in the cabin.

Breath taking views

Josh and Amanda are fantastic hosts, the home is clean, perfect location to down town. The views are absolutely stunning from morning to nightfall, it’s quiet and relaxing space for family, friends, and we look forward to renting again one day. Wonderful winter get away

Our family had such a wonderful stay at this cabin located on a beautiful farm for our ski vacation. The hosts were excellent, provided very thorough communication and even had fresh farm eggs and coffee (for purchase) at the cabin for our arrival that were delicious! Kitchen was perfectly equipped and we did all our meals in with our two small children. There was a significant snow storm during our stay and the owners were great at plowing and shoveling the property in timely fashion. We stayed warm and cozy throughout the storm! Hoping to stay again very soon!

Our host was very responsive and provided excellent communication. Access to the house was easy, as was checkout. Beds and pillows and mattresses were cloud-like, offering a good sleep after a day of snowboarding at the mountain that is 10 minutes away. The kitchen was beautifully appointed to prep and cook any meal, the hot water was instant and a dishwasher provided easy cleanup. The bathroom was stocked with fluffy towels and generous personal-care amenities. The living room furniture was comfortable and roomy, positioned next to the giant picture windows that looked out on a bucolic hillside complete with stunning sunsets over the distant mountains. Even on a cold morning, the birdsong was abundant, and we were told there was a rare owl and blue buntings in the area. We are planning to return to the Hidden Gem again…truly a property beloved by the owners

Mexico Wedding

Stayed for the weekend with my spouse, Aunt, Uncle, cousin and Grandfather. The living space and down stairs areas were nice. With only one bathroom one the first floor it was a lot for those having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night from upstairs. But other than that it was a great stay, and great view!

Stacy, I admit to being surprised by your review because you did not stay at the property. We commitment ourselves to open communication with all of our guests, as well as encourage reaching out with any concerns or questions. With less than 24 hours before your check in, we were still communicating about your request to cancel your reservation. We were unable to reschedule you and were very clear about that. Although our cancellation policy did not qualify you for a refund, we were willing to offer you partial refund, but you never responded. Even after your check in time we still reached out to resolve your cancellation request and never received a response from you. We are fair, honest, and understanding with all of our guests and will remain committed in providing the best possible stay at our cabin. Communication on both ends will continue to be an important factor to this commitment.
