Completely remodeled in 2021 this charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is located on the Crooked River with dock and covered boat port. Bring your boat or rent one and explore several rivers and lakes. The house is very spacious with an open floorplan and soaring 2-story ceiling. All-new kitchen, appliances, baths, flooring, furniture, etc.. The large master suite with a king bed has its own bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is very cozy with a queen bed. The loft has two trundle beds that pull out into kings. Enjoy the roomy deck and fire pit on the river watching all the boats passing by. Ride your boat up river into Crooked Lake or head down river into Burt, Indian River, then Mullet Lake.

Great location for us coming from Traverse City and traveling to Mackinac Island, Petoskey, tunnel of trees, etc. house was exactly as pictured. Host was responsive, and we loved the fire pit!

Second time staying here. Very peaceful! Great location on Crooked River. Enjoyed star gazing on Lake Michigan shoreline. Fall colors were starting to pop. Eatery’s in the area are great. Always love running over to Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Kitchen is setup well so we did breakfast and a few lunches right there. Overall really enjoyed our time. Look forward to coming back again.

Crooked River fishing trip

We have stayed at many VRBO rentals over the years and this one is one of the best. Very clean and well supplied for all a family needs for a week stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was outstanding. The host is very quick with communication and we could not have been happier with the quality and condition of the home. The location on the river is more than we anticipated. I’m certain that we will be making this an annual spot to relax. The neighborhood is very quiet. The river is entertaining with boat traffic in and out of Burt Lake and the fishing in Burt Lake is world class.

We had a wonderful week. Marc’s communication and planning are excellent. The house has been updated and is very clean. Great amenities provided like bikes, kayaks and yard games. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and supplies. We brought our boat. There is plenty of parking and loved the boat port. The central air worked great throughout the house during the hot days. It is relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the boat traffic go by. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. Easy access to Burt Lake and Crooked Lake. We would definitely stay again.Thanks Marc and Diane!

Fantastic property

Our family had a wonderful stay. Marc’s home is absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed fishing from the dock, golfing nearby, and exploring the towns and beaches close to the property. We cannot say enough great things about this special home!

Inland Waterway heaven

Great updated home to enjoy all the Inland Waterway has to offer. Marc was a great host and replied promptly to all questions. I'd recommend to anyone. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful Get Away

Home was very updated and fully stocked in all areas. Communication with Marc was quick and easy. Location ideal for golfing, shopping, gaming and boating. Enjoyed our stay.

BEAUTIFUL Place! Easy access to lakes!

There is no better place to access Burt Lake or Crooked Lake quickly! Everything is new inside- a great cottage. The deck is awesome for relaxation/dinner/drinks. Great fire pit. Great spot to dock your boat that is covered. We will be back!

Great home on water

Marc’s property was very clean and comfortable! The kitchen was well equipped and the neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed the fire pit and sitting on the deck in the evenings. Communication with Marc was easy and prompt. We would recommend this property!

Great property

This property was perfect for us and it was recently remodeled perfectly. It was a quiet and accommodated our boat and friends boat. The property had all that you would need for a week at the lake. The owner was great on communication too.

Fabulous rental

We loved our stay at this home! The home is clean and well equipped with all the amenities you need. We especially loved sitting on the back deck and watching the boats go by. We rented a pontoon boat ourselves and enjoyed boating and swimming on Burt Lake. I would definitely recommend booking here and would go back in a heartbeat.

Quiet, Central, River Lodge

The location of this property was perfect for us ... on a river that exits into Burt Lake, and also a short 30 minute drive to Petosky, Douglas Lake, and up to Mackinac. There were 5 of us and we fit perfectly in the house: my son loved having the loft upstairs to himself, my parents had their bedroom / bathroom and my husband and I had our own bedroom / bathroom. Everything was clean, and if you have ever been to a VRBO that was not stocked, you know how important this is: EVERYTHING you need is there in the house. We loved fishing and canoeing in the river (there are canoes at the property). We rented a boat from Burt Lake for a couple days and the boat slip made it so easy to come and go. It was a wonderful experience. My son is 9 years old and my other is almost 80 ... and they both enjoyed their stay, so it was a great place for all ages!

Perfect spot!

My family and I thought this was the perfect spot for us to enjoy the river, Burt Lake, downtown Petoskey and next time we’ll also visit Mackinaw. This river seemed quieter than others nearby and Burt Lake is beautiful! The house is gorgeous with so many updates. The owners were great communicators and truly wanted to make sure we were comfortable and having a great week. Highly recommend the area and this house.

Will Be Back Some Day

This place was the cutest little cabin, it was very beautifully renovated. Sitting outside by the river was the most relaxing I could have asked for and fishing for my husband was great having his boat in the well for easier fishing. The neighbors were great and even invited us to eat with them. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Will stay again no problem.

Perfectly peaceful

Wonderful stay! House appeared a little larger in pictures but our group of 6 never felt cramped and bedroom locations were perfect for everyone’s privacy. Location right on river was ideal for boating as it was a short ride from Crooked River to Burt Lake and exploring Indian River to Mullet Lake was easy as well. Owner providing access to his covered dock made everything stress free and helped to create family memories we will never forget on this cute and quaint property. Also provided lots of amenities and could tell lots of care went into the home to make it feel like it was our own. Highly recommend staying there as it made our trip up north more relaxing than ever.

Excellent vacation property

My family of 5 stayed in this home for 7 nights. It was very clean and was very well stocked with tons of essentials. We really enjoyed the fire pit and watching the boats (slowly) go by. It is truly a relaxing place to stay! We also did a lot of exploring of nearby towns- Petosky, Charlevoix, and Mackinaw Island. This home was a perfect location to see it all! Marc was excellent to deal with and communicated very well. Check out was a breeze. We would love to stay here again…definitely our favorite rental!

Quiet Getaway

The property is very nice and maintained well. A little warm up in the loft. It sits on a shallow connecting river with boat traffic in a no wake zone - it was nice but not very good for off shore fishing. If you want to fish, have or rent a boat to get to the lakes. A downfall is that it’s a 20-30 minute drive to stores and restaurants. But, all the area is nice and you’re close to Mackinaw City and Petowskey.

Family vacation

We spent 9 nights on the crooked river in this very cute home! The outdoor space is amazing. A nice deck with very nice furniture. A great fire pit. A covered boat dock. We spent most of our time on the lakes and rivers. Inside is cozy and has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked. The house stayed pretty cool considering there isn’t AC throughout. The house is newly renovated and you tell the owners take pride their home! We look forward to returning!!

Quaint Cottage

The epitome of a quaint cottage! Marc’s place is updated and was a great size for our family of six. You could not ask for a better location. Being on the river that accessed both lakes was special. The outside grounds of this cottage are perfection! From the view of the river, to the boat dock, to the amazing porch, the fire pit, even the porch furniture was perfect! All this while also offering an incredibly large grassy area for our kids to run around and kick a soccer ball. We were impressed! The best part of the interior is the large bay window. There are two comfy swivel chairs where you can see everything going on outside. The cottage has everything you need in terms of kitchen supplies etc… very well stocked. I think they thought of everything! And I’ll end with this, in today’s modern age unplugging is very hard to do. My kids really played together and had an awesome time just hanging out with each other in a way I haven’t seen since the invention of the iPad. I think they made lasting memories together and this might have been the very best part of the trip!

Peaceful, beautiful, well-kept

We had a fantastic time at this property during our week's stay. Interior: It's clear the owners have put work into updating the property. Size is typical of a cabin rental in this area in this price range. The kitchen was well-appointed and bathrooms were nicely updated. The two bedrooms were good sized and the loft could have easily fit a 3rd person. Outside: Beautiful deck with sun chairs and a 6-person table. Lots of green space for a tent, cornhole (provided), and fishing off the dock. There was a really nice firepit with chairs. Dock: Very nice covered boat port and dock for storing our rental boat. Location: It's a bit remote...about 10 minutes to "town" and about 20 minutes to Harbor Springs or Petosky. Very low traffic, which made it great for road running and walking. The house sits on a river between Burt Lake and I believe Walloon Lake. It was ~15 minute boat ride to Burt Lake. Other: there were a couple bikes we used which were great. No wifi, which we didn't realize but turned out to be fine. Verizon had some coverage, but ATT was very poor service. No central air...there was a portable unit upstairs, but we really didn't need it with the temperatures and a nice breeze from the water.
