Charming Log Cabin, Lake Views and Kayaking

Beautiful log home on Long Lake in Traverse City. This quaint home is situated on the north end of the lake. The home features 3 bedrooms and an additional loft. Ideally located next to Gilbert park with boat launch, picnic tables, grills and volleyball nets.
The all -sport lake is 2900 acres with 5 islands to explore- boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and amazing walleye fishing. In the non summer months, this home is close to skiing, ice fishing, cross country skiing, winery’s, hiking, horseback riding, sight seeing, concerts and amazing restaurants.. Eight minutes to Fresh Coast market and famous Moomers Ice Cream, 9 minutes to Interlochen summer concerts, 17 minutes to downtown Traverse City, and only 22 minutes to Lake Michigan beaches.
The home has an open floor plan with two living area’s. Kitchen comes fully equipped with anything you might need. Three bedrooms with a loft and three full baths, one on each level. The lower level has a wet bar, along with access to one of the two levels of decking, along with a fenced in back yard. Step outside and enjoy a cozy fire in the fire pit, or cook your feast on the BBQ grill. The water front is a few steps away where multiple kayaks are available for your use through near by Gilbert park.
House comes equipped with all linens, blankets, pillows and towels.
Prime summer weeks are 7 nights Friday to Friday rentals. Shorter 3 night minimum stays are available off -peak. A refundable security deposit of $500 USD is required.. The deposit is fully refundable within 7 days of departure.

Doris is very responsive which is really a plus. The location of the cabin was great. Our adult kids enjoyed taking the kayaks out one morning on the lake. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for them to go out more than one day. There were a few suggestions for improvements that we sent along to Doris that would make this a 5 star stay but all in all - it was a nice place to spend a week in lovely northern Michigan.

Great place and awesome location. Garage was loaded with stuff to play with (kayaks, beach toys, bikes etc). Kitchen was fully stocked. Beach towels and chairs provided. The owner was responsive and helpful. The beds were very comfortable which can’t be overlooked when booking a home. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms was great. The house was very clean. It was an amazing experience. Long Lake is great. Clear, warm, calm with great scenery. The nearby beach was perfect with shade if needed. We could easily drive to all our favorite places without being in the car too long: the dunes, traverse city, Suttons bay, hop lot, etc..We only wish we could have walked directly to the beach without having to walk down a main road. Would book again!

Summer Vacation

Cabin was well stocked will everything you need and more! Appreciated the beach mats and chairs, fenced in yard, and a nice sized kitchen. Plenty of room for our family of five to stretch out after a long day of sight seeing.

Awesome lake cabin for the family

Great place and very clean! It was such a treat to enjoy coffee in the morning on the covered patio and enjoy the weather and view. We used the kayaks 4-5 times. We were a little nervous about caddying the kayaks along the road to the public beach, but the drivers in the area were courteous. The location was very convenient to drive to different places.

Wonderful memories on Long Lake!

Just a lovely property in an amazing area. The home was perfect for our family of two parents and four college-aged kids. Lots of room and still cozy enough for some nice hang-out time. Great winter getaway. Highly recommended!

Long Lake getaway

Quiet, peaceful location with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and have their own space. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with coffee and enjoying the lake view. House was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. The area has a ton to offer! Once we figured out how to properly use the little wheeled kayak pulleys (push, don't pull) it was easy getting the kayaks to the beach. Such a fun lake to kayak on, very clean, clear and warm water and cool to have the little islands as destinations. Gallaghers farm stand has great produce and baked goods, only 8 minutes away, and Traverse City is only 15ish minutes for a ton of great restaurant choices! Rented ebikes to do the wine trail one day as well--highly recommend!

Great cabin!

We loved staying here! Highly recommend this house if you have a larger family. My four teens had plenty of space to spread out. We also loved the fenced in yard for our dog.

Beautiful escape from the heat

This was the perfect spot for a relaxing family trip. Weather was gorgeous, nearly 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the Mideast. Only hiccup was there’s no direct lake access due to some newly installed fencing by the neighbors. To get a kayak in the water you have to caddy it a couple hundred yards down the road to a nearby public access beach. Not a big deal, the cabin and outdoor space are immaculate and the location was convenient to a number of day trips.

Great stay!

First visit to Long Lake and really enjoyed the location and the rental. Perfect for six adults with a bedroom and bath on each floor. Very clean and nicely furnished. A great week for everyone!

Family summer vacay

Our family had a fantastic week at Long Lake! This property had everything we needed and plenty of space for the family to stretch out. Kids loved the proximity to the park and volleyball courts. Beautiful lake, nice street to walk the dog. Short drive to Lake Michigan...our fave was Glen Haven to hunt for petoskey stones. Rooms were comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked which made meals a breeze. Our only issue was the road noise but it was only loud when we were on the deck and never noticed it inside or while sleeping so not really a big issue at all. Loved the kayaks and canoe. We had such a great time, thank you!

Beautiful Home

Everything about this home itself was perfect. My only disappointment was that there was no private beach access. Somehow i missed that when looking over the amenities before booking. I think an explanation of this would be helpful. Other than that, we loved it and our stay there.

Wonderful location and beautiful home.

This home is exactly as shown. Great view and close to downtown Traverse City. We really enjoyed the deck, reading in the afternoon and listening to the children swimming and playing at the park next door.

Clean, good location. 15 minutes from the city, 25 minutes from sand dunes. Limited lake access and views due to trees from the park. 3 minute walk to beach on long lake. Overall a very nice home in a good location. The property owner was very prompt in her responses to the questions we had.

Great Location

The house was clean and had plenty of space for our family of 4. The location was perfect for us. It was convenient to everything from Traverse City for shopping to Platte Lake for fishing. Interlochen golf club was only 10 minutes away as well. The lake is clean and the house was in a very quiet neighborhood. There is lake access, but it's just wide enough to get a kayak in the water. Wasn't a problem for us, but if you are going to be using a boat it wouldn't work well.

Loved this House!!

My family and I wanted a quick getaway for the Thanksgiving holiday and this property fit the bill! Everything we could have needed to cook our meal! The house was decorated so perfectly with just the right amount of cabin feel and coziness! Close to TC and Lake Ann where we had a great afternoon sipping beer at the Lake Ann brewery !! The owner was quick to respond and easy to communicate with! 10/10 all

Everything but a view

We stayed for a week at the property and had an awesome time. The beds were comfortable, the house was spacious and clean, and the location was 15-20 minutes away from most of the things we wanted to do. We stayed with 3 adults and a 3 year old and 2 dogs and easily could have accommodated another couple. The yard was awesome for our dogs, fully fenced and large. We didn't get to using the fire pit but there was one. There isn't much of a view to the lake due to the trees but we made it down to the water and even did a stroll in the owner provided kayak. We loved Long Lake, it was a large lake that was quiet and clean. Everything was well stocked and communication was easy. We would return to the area and the cabin.

Lovely Property

This was a great vacation house in a perfect location on long lake. It accommodated our family of 6 perfectly. The house had everything we needed for our week long stay. The kayaks and canoe were a huge plus, and being so close to the beach and lake were ideal. I highly recommend this property!
