Ocean Views from this beautiful Cottage by the Sea. Huge front patio with ocean views, large table and BBQ. Prime location steps from the beach and McVay Rock State Park which is perfect for surf fishing, clamming and whale watching. There are several other nature parks and beaches just minutes away, such as Harris Beach State Park, Secret Beach, Sporthaven Beach and Brookings Harbor. Five minute drive to Brookings and all it has to offer. Great wifi signal, UTUBE TV programming with 92 Ch.

The space
No steps on this property, both front and rear entry are slightly sloping concrete ramps to entry doors making it very handicap accessible. This place is perfect for all your costal adventures! 1450 Sq. Ft. of high open beam ceilings and hardwood floors, and a prime location steps from the Beach. Walking through the front door you will find the very spacious living room filled with natural light, plush leather sofas, Recliner and a 55 inch smart 4K flat screen TV with YOUTUBE TV programming, all the networks and over 80 other channels and an electric fireplace.
The updated fully equipped kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining room. Prepare your favorite home cooked meals in the kitchen or use the electric smoker outback or the large grill out in the front patio and enjoy the ocean views while barbecuing and eating on the patio.
Enjoy comfortable beds and the extra sunlight and views from the 3 piece French doors in each bedroom. Master bedroom has a 43 inch smart TV with a DVD player and the bedroom has French doors leading to the large front patio. Second bedroom has French doors leading to the large back patio and beautiful yard. The house is approximately 300 feet from the ocean.

Guest access
Guests have full and exclusive access to the whole house and grounds. Front door code for entry is last 4 numbers of the phone number you have listed on VRBO.

It's a lovely one level home with beautiful landscaping in a ckubtryside setting. The area is so peaceful and beautiful. There isba view of the ocean across a meadow. The owners were very helpful and so nice. The house is close to a beach and the harbor area. We loved it and plan to return.

Great for longer term stay

We enjoyed this house for two months during August and September. Our main purpose for such a long stay was to escape wildfire smoke during extreme fire risk time, and it turned out to be a wise decision. The air quality was excellent; we had ocean and coastal mountain views from the property; and sitting on the cement deck was marvelous. The house was very clean and more than adequate for our needs, including hosting friends and family for brief visits. Our landlord was friendly and responsive to our requests. We will be repeat customers and look forward to future stays, enjoying the house, beaches, rivers and nearby redwoods.

Spotlessly Clean Cottage by the Road

The place was very clean which we really appreciated. It is also spacious. Also, Rick is responsive. We were very disappointed to find that the cottage is 35 feet from the road and the noise from the road can be heard from every room all day and most of the night. The ocean can be seen from the front of the house, but the views are minimal. The description is misleading. To get to the beach you either walk the busy road or drive to a nearby park. The huge front patio is not conducive to using since it is right on the road with no privacy. The French doors in the bedrooms are nice but when they are open there is no privacy as there are houses surrounding all sides of the rental. We have rented several properties on the Oregon coast. This was the most expensive, especially for what is offered. We won’t stay here again.

I want to set the stage for this ridiculous review. The guest messaged me as soon as they arrived to say "We are here and I'm not Thrilled with this place". A few hours after arrival Sally say's "Are there any blankets we see a few very light one's". After over 1500 nightly stays we never received any other complaints about the blankets. I immediately brought more brand new blankets still in the wrapping and the first thing Sally say's is "O we won't use those, you can take them with you. Even though I graciously and immediately responded to all her complaints she still messaged me and said "I don't appreciate your lack of responsiveness" Then Sally say's we need more dish towels, there are however plenty of dish towels. I will quickly address complaints in Sally's review. Only one other person out of over 1500 night stays and 5 years has complained about any road noise, the Ocean views are very nice, Description is not misleading, The beach is a 6 minute walk, The property is private with only two neighboring houses and they are each at least 80' away, As far as price Sally knew what the price was before she booked the house which stays booked because it is a fair price. This very negative person is never welcome back. Sally only has 4 review's on VRBO in 11 years, I wish I could read them, it would be interesting. This property has a 5 star rating on a different popular website, A i r b n b and all other reviews on V R B O are 5 stars. 99 percent of my guests tell me how much they love the property and don't want to check out.

Family get away- Disaster

We spent the weekend just to get away for a quick trip, and this day was OK the house fine. The owner was there, but never made a point to say hi. After leaving the property, we realized we left a very important bag behind and we ended up contacting the owner who said he still had it we tried to communicate with the owner and the owner completely ignored us and refused to take her phone calls text messages. We continue to be very polite and professional. We ended up having to contact local authorities to retrieve the items and drive five hours to pick up our items from there contact VRBO and file a formal complaint. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Vrbo hosts and it’s been very unfortunate. So if you’re looking to stay somewhere like here, I would definitely consider either remembering all of your items or potentially going somewhere else.

Great cottage

Location is across the street from the ocean and the cottage is very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend. Rick is very responsive and came right over to fix a clogged sink.

I had the opportunity to meet Kathryn and her daughter who were both very nice! They left the house in a very nice condition. I can definitely recommend them to other hosts.

Brookings trip

The property was very clean, nicely decorated and a good location. A few minutes to McVay Beach and just a short distance to Crissey - the Oregon visitor center with a wonderful beach for walking. The owner was very prompt to respond when we had questions. He also called just to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a good place to stay in Brookings!

Warm and cozy home by the ocean.

Beautifully appointed home set near the ocean. Minutes away from the beach and the town of Brookings. This bright and spotless home was a perfect getaway for us.
