Enjoy a relaxing stay on the water. Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with everything from new appliances and furniture to small luxuries such as board games, DVDs, gas grill, 2 kayaks, 2 bikes, inflatable kayak, and outdoor games for your enjoyment. The property has a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains and is only a short 15 to 20 minute drive to Clemson University. Maybe you would like a mountain day trip to visit some local waterfalls or hit the trails, either skiing or off-roading, don't forget some shopping...endless possibilities. Walking distance from South Cove park where you can play tennis, pickleball, basketball, and use the boat ramp.

Such an amazing lake house!! They thought of everything for their guests! House is welcoming, clean and updated! The dock is well maintained as well and everything you need to boat kayak float etc is there! The game room is awesome and we had some crazy fun out there as well! Extra fridge and freezer are a huge plus! Loved the Keurig coffee! We made our own but loved having that for a quick cup of joe! Everything you need to cook in the open kitchen and a propane gas grill and instruments to cook outside. The views are the absolute best esp from the kitchen table and the huge den! TVs in every bedroom and awesome bath towels!! Loved the easy walk down to the dock!!

Excellent Visit

Stayed here for a week with family (all adults). We have been coming the Keowee/Hartwell area annually for the past decade, and this property was easily the best maintained and equipped out of any of the lake houses at which we have stayed. Great location on the water. Easy to get in and out of town. Home was fresh and modern-feeling on the inside, not like some of the worn, aged lake properties we have experienced. Dock had been freshy stained, and the deck was in good shape as well. The only minor drawback of the property was the lack of shade on the dock and deck. Otherwise 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place

We had a great stay at Pirates Retreat! Very neat & clean. Beautiful lake view. Took a very nice walk to the campground near by. Thank you for a smooth checkin and checkout process! Would definitely come back!!

Another amazing stay!

This is our second summer vacationing at Pirate’s retreat! It’s definitely a home away from home with everything you could possibly need. Everything is well kept down to even the fluffy bath towels. No detail has been overlooked at this rental and once again we had an amazing time! The extra fridge and extra deep freezer are such a bonus for us, the rooms are spacious, beds are cozy, the kitchen has it all, and the lake is the most pristine! We are once again so pleased with our stay here and can’t wait for next summer to do it again!

Another fantastic year at Pirate's Retreat!

Really a perfect location in so many ways: quiet, private cove, close to supermarkets, close to Keowee Marina for boat rental and east-facing for beautiful sunrises and afternoon shade. The hosts are awesome and the property is super-clean, full of toys and just perfect for a week or two at the lake!

CLEMSON GRADUATION

The property was great! Communication was the best we’ve ever had! A lovely stay! We would highly recommend staying at the Pirate’s Retreat !! The only suggestion is that there could be more table lamps (bedrooms and living room) - very minor !!

Wonderful short visit

Wonderful property on a beautiful piece of land. Hope to come again next year but for a bit longer stay. Very clean, well stocked, and convenient with how they set up checkin.

Exactly what we were looking for

We woke up to sunrises, relaxed on the deck, and enjoyed walking through the county park. House is set up nicely for family and friends to enjoy lake life. Susan is an excellent communicator.

Great stay

We stayed at the Pirates Retreat with friends for a long weekend with a Clemson football game. The location on the lake is awesome and the house was super clean and well equipped. There was always some kind of competition going on between the teenagers and adults ;) We would love to come back and hope to take advantage of the kayaks next time. Definitely a 5 star stay !

Loved our stay

One of the best VRBO stays we have had. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location. Enjoyed backyard, fire pit, and the view. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making your stay enjoyable. Communication was excellent too. We will definitely stay here again.

Relaxing weekend

We spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend while celebrating our Clemson daughter’s ring ceremony. The house was exactly as described. So clean and bright with a wonderful wall of windows facing the lake. The family room was larger than we expected and very comfortable. Communication with Susan was easy, and she was quick to respond to some questions I had. We really enjoyed the kayaks and the lift/rack you have made it so easy to use and stow them versus lugging them to the lake from a garage. I highly recommend this property.

Tigers on the Lake

Stayed at the Pirates Retreat for a Clemson Football weekend. The house and amenities were amazing. We all had a blast. The kids loved the game room and fishing on the pier. Would definitely stay here again and hope to make use of the kayaks next time.

Amazing sunrise, close to town

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed Pirate’s Retreat. Very clean, easy entry, lots of fun amenities for the kids (and us!). Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, close to everything but quiet and peaceful. Very clean and well equipped with everything you need for relaxation & recreation. Perfectly set up as a rental. One of the best hosts we've ever had the pleasure of working with. Can't wait to come back!

Over the Top

We take a lake vacation every year with our adult children and this was, by far, the best vacation and setting we’ve visited thus far. It was idyllic. The house sits on a wide cove with a tree covered campground across the cove( so nice not to be looking at other docks and houses.) The lake was clear and the yard gently sloping down to the dock. We swam from the dock, kayaked ( owner supplied) and paddle boarded all over the place. We had delicious meals from the grill and enjoyed the fans on the covered porch. The game room was a blast. We played foos ball, basketball and Tripoli. There is even an extra refrigerator in the game room. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Communication with the owner was prompt and courteous. This will not be our only trip to Pirates Retreat! Thank you for a great vacation!

Doesn’t get better than this!

Property was so clean, updated, and had all the comforts of home. We had an amazing weekend! The water was so clear and clean, off the front of the dock is about 10ft deep so it’s deep enough for a good diving contest without scooping up the bottom! We rented a boat from the Keowee Marina conveniently located nearby. Adults and teens had a blast and we left our high score of 450 on the double shot hoop! So much fun and we will for sure be back!

Perfect pot - completely satisfied!

Five stars for good reason! SUPER CLEAN when we arrived. Everything was as good as it looked online. Perfect place for us to spend 3 days together. Susan's communication was exceptional and you can tell the hosts are focused on maximizing the guest experience. Can't wait to go back!

Pirate’s Retreat is a warm, welcoming…well, retreat! Fully renovated with all new furniture, flooring, and appliances. Inside, there are small comforts such as DVDs, board games, sporting equipment, kayaks, and bikes. The property is located walking distance to South Cove Park which offers basketball courts, tennis courts, pickle ball courts (we had no idea what that was either, but you have some rackets and balls if you want to give it a try!) Outside there is plenty of seating on the back deck, a gas grill, a beautiful fire pit, and dock. An inflatable kayak is under the porch for your use as well. You are day a trip away from mountain hikes, off road adventures, white water rafting, snow skiing, not to mention right down the street Clemson University offers ACC sporting events, Greenville has the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, shopping, and fine dining. I guess the real question is why would you not stay here?
