Dragonfly Cottage - 10 minute walk from ferry!

Walking distance from Sturdies Bay Ferry, nestled In a woodland garden setting, this lovely 2-bedroom cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining area, living room and an enclosed deck. The upstairs loft bedroom has a queen-sized bed and skylight to stargaze at night. The main floor bedroom has single bunk beds and reading room. There is a washer/dryer for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped, dining area/living room has wood burning stove. Smart TV with Internet connection. The spacious enclosed private rear garden patio is complete with patio furniture and BBQ. Suitable for 2 adults or family of 4 (young children). Due to liability issues we are not offering the use of the kayaks.

Crown land with trails to beautiful Bluff Park borders the property on two sides. Walking distance to local shops and eateries.

Spotless, cosy and well-equipped cabin in a very scenic spot surrounded by trees. Communication with Marilyn was excellent. Extremely conveniently located - we travelled without a car and it was just a short walk to the ferry terminal, well-stocked shop, cafes and bookshop. Great walks on the doorstep too. And the added bonus of being able to swim from the nearby jetty at high tide! We had a wonderful stay.

Very relaxing cottage with sun that floods the east side in the morning. We had amazing weather and did many gorgeous hikes. You can even do a forest walk to the only pub on the island from the cottage. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The cottage was well tended to with lots of maps and books. Bathtub was a little stained and rough looking but fine for showers. Overall, a great place to stay!

Wonderful

The cabin was roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. I really appreciated the welcome gift and how clean the entire place was.I was surprised at how spacious it felt given the small footprint. Marilyn was a pleasure to deal with and I would love to return and I hope it’s soon.Thanks for a great getaway.

Wonderful cottage get-away

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dragonfly cottage. It had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay and Marilyn was very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to visit Galiano.

Sanctuary

We loved our retreat at Dragonfly Cottage. 3 women. 3 beds. 1 still game to climb to a top bunk and loved awaking to deer tromping through the field outside her window. The cottage was wonderfully appointed, cozy, and in walking distance to Galliano amenities. The hosts were so thoughtful, welcoming, and communicative. Definitely stay here and you’ll have a lovely time.

Accessible Hideaway

Loved our stay here! You can get there without a car as it is a short walk from the ferry. But once you're there it feels very hidden away. Just a note to travelers, look up the ferry schedule and book your tickets in advance, it can fill up.

Above and beyond hosts

We had a great stay at dragonfly cottage! We enjoyed using the kayaks and Marilyn and Sean were super helpful in sending us the tide times and dropping off the paddles and life jackets. They offered us to stay past the check out time seeming as the cleaner wasn’t arriving until the next day. Great location, great place!

Perfect Galiano Getaway – Relaxing, Fun, and Family-Friendly!

We had a fantastic stay at Dragonfly Cottage! The space was perfect for our family—cozy, clean, and well-equipped. We shared lots of laughs and late-night card games around the table, and having a full kitchen and BBQ made mealtimes super easy. The kids loved the bunk beds and settling in for movie nights with the TV.The location is ideal—just a short walk from the ferry, and a great home base for exploring the island. We spent our days checking out hidden shore access points, visiting artist studios, exploring the local museum, and hiking the beautiful Galiano bluffs. The EV charger at the Galiano Conservancy Association was handy while we hiked down to Chrystal Cove. Everywhere we went, the island had a laid-back and welcoming vibe.All in all, 10/10—highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

A Bright & Modern Cottage

From the minute we opened the door Dragonfly Cottage was welcoming! With many windows & skylights the space is bright & cheery. Everything you need is in the kitchen including a BBQ. The cottage was immaculate & comfortable! We would love to return in the warmer months for an opportunity to use the kayaks and enjoy the Galiano vibe. We really enjoyed are springtime getaway! Excellent

Wonderful little cottage on galiano island ,supplied with everything you might need . The cottage is situated off the road some 5 minutes from the ferry terminal and local restaurants and food stop. Sit on porch or back deck and read a book or wander across the road and sit on the dock. Lots of bike routes available with beach access or head over to the bluffs and take in the views. All in all a wonderful stay . Marilyn lives on the property in the main house if you have any questions but otherwise you feel like you have the place to yourself . Would highly recommend the cottage to family and friends.

Uniquely cozy cottage on Galliano

We had a great stay on the island at the lovely cottage. The building itself is beautifully and cleverly renovated to add a bunk on the lower level in addition to the loft space above. The hot water was fantastic and the space was well stocked with toiletries, towels, linen as well as cooking equipment, staples and cleaning supplies. The wood stove with perfectly cut and dried kindling made a super cozy living space on a cool night. The building is up the hillside on a steep driveway across from the water. Kayaks and lifejackets where available on request, but as always it's important to note the tide as the dock is on dry land at low tide. One update we would suggest for the listing is the fridge is a mini fridge so folks can plan their food accordingly. Freezer space is limited. Hosts are lovely, very responsive and accommodating with our schedule. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

October long weekend

Flexible hosts, let us in early and stay late! Added bonus of guests being allowed to use their 2 adult,2 kids kayaks for free! We used them twice and it was awesome.

Fantastic little cottage on Galiano

The entire experience was extremely pleasant. Beautiful property and housing, super clean and neat. For having not communicated with the hosts at all during our stay, all our questions and more were answered by the very helpful manuals. The bonus touch was the accessible dock on the water that we were about to use. Thanks again Marilyn!

Great Stay

We had a great stay at Dragonfly with our two kids (4 and 6). The cabin has a lot of charm, Marilyn was easy to communicate with, and it is so close to everything including about 20 metres from the Sturdies Bay Trail. Thanks again!

Perfect little getaway

The owners were wonderful communicators, we had no problems with the check in or at any point during our stay. The cottage was clean and cozy, good location, and well maintained. I can't wait to stay here again!
