Bella Haven ("beautiful refuge") is a favourite getaway for many Saturna visitors.
A bright and airy beach house set on a picturesque half-acre, adjacent to our home.
Overlooking Lyall Harbour, you will have front row seats to spectacular summer sunsets and the ever-changing vista.

It's perfect for one or two people looking to experience the uniqueness of Saturna Island and the beauty of the seasons in the Southern Gulf Islands.

Lyall Harbour is safe for swimming.
There are no predators, such as bears or cougars, on Saturna.

We have sought to equip Bella Haven to a high standard and to anticipate your needs for a memorable stay.
The open-plan living space, and the many windows, provide a feeling of spaciousness and light.
Although there are no laundry facilities in the beach house, arrangements can be made, by appointment, to use the washer and dryer in our house if required.

* We must mention our big friendly pooches, Dudley and Angus!
They will greet you from the other side of the fence, but have no access to your patio or living space.
They may be "vocal" upon your arrival but they settle quickly.

Our beautiful and peaceful setting lends itself to relaxation, but is also a perfect home-base for:

Nearly 50% of Saturna Island is protected by the Gulf Islands National Park. Additional parks bring the total of protected areas close to 70%.

As well, Saturna is one of the premiere land-based whale watching locations in the Gulf Islands.

Bella Haven is a fantastic place to stay on Saturna Island! The view is amazing, and the guesthouse is thoughtful, cute, and comfortable. The hosts are fantastic and their dogs are adorable. No stay on Saturna would be complete without a trip to the amazing East Point so try and work that in as well. A fantastic getaway.

The cottage was just as described. The bed was very comfortable and the setting was great! Just beautiful! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We’d love to stay here again and would definitely recommend it highly.

What a lovely space this is - so comfortable, so clean and so well decorated, that it truly feels like a home away from home - it has a lovely 'feel'. And of course, the fabulous sunsets! Sue and Rob were welcoming hosts, and were extremely prompt in addressing a very minor issue we had. We enjoyed a wonderful few days away here on Saturna, and would highly recommend Bella Haven to others. One of the nicest rentals we've ever stayed at.

On the scale of 5, Sue and Rob bend the needle. We’ve stayed at VRBO properties for 25 years and Bella Haven surpassed all of them for the quality of the beach house design, the well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable bed. We had everything we needed, and more. Birding books are often found, but Bella Haven actually includes birding binoculars!The best feature of Bella Haven is its location: the view from the deck is amazing, the silence and tranquility are spellbinding. The sun, the beach and the stars at night! We sat there for hours.Sue and Rob, you are gracious hosts and we enjoyed your company. Thank you.

Perfect Getaway Spot

Bella Haven is a beautiful little cottage. It has been thoughtfully set up with everything you need. It's comfortable and homey and full of character. The view is amazing and there are several outdoor spots from which to enjoy it. Every window in the cottage also looks out on the view. The owners were welcoming and very responsive. A 10/10 in every respect. Highly recommend.

stunning location, roomy fully equipped cottage

First time to Saturna Island and it did not disappoint. This home was the ideal choice for us as a base to explore this unique gem of the Gulf Islands. The island is quiet and a bit isolated and that makes it pretty relaxing and special. Highly recommend this home to rent.

Beautiful property and everything you may need was there. Luxurious towels and lots of them. Bathroom is amazing and love the heated stone floor! Even has books on the area’s history. Hosts were great and so were their two dogs.

Breath taking

Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, beautiful property and accommodations. Top sot on Saturna, we would definitely book again and recommend this place, thank you Sue and Rob for being such excellent hosts!

In the summer of 2007 we were sailing past Saturna and decided to go ashore to see what properties might be for sale. When we saw this view we were smitten. The rest is history, as they say. We are lucky and grateful to call Saturna home.

Major renovations were lovingly undertaken. The re-build took several years, as Rob did most of the work himself.
Fun Fact: Rob built the cabinets and countertops in the beach house out of old fir church pews!

We enjoy walking our two dogs and having our grandchildren visit as often as possible.
Rob has become an accomplished wood turner in his retirement and has produced many beautiful pieces. He occasionally sells his work at the annual Saturna Lamb BBQ and at the Saturna Christmas Market.
Sue enjoys music and photography.

Over the years we've had family and friends come to stay in the beach house. They always sleep past their regular wake-up time because it's so quiet and the bed is so comfy.

Passers-by on the street always comment on the property and the view.
People come to our beach specially to watch the breathtaking summer sunsets.

We look forward to welcoming you and will always be available for anything you may need.
