Private Studio Apartment with Easy Walk to WCU

I am the CEO of a financial services company, and my wife is the coordinator for transfer advising and a faculty member at the nearby community college. I travel a lot for business, usually staying in hotels. When we travel together (which is more frequently these days), we prefer short-term rentals. We want this to be the kind of place we'd like to rent, and we'll work hard to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

We've owned this house since 2003. A "new" master suite was added back in the early 1970s. When our kids moved out, we moved back into the "old" master suite to make way for a rental. Our location is perfect if you're a parent visiting a WCU student, or if you're coming for a campus tour. The space is designed to feel comfortable if you have to hang around (this is a temperate rain forest, and locals know that WCU stands for "We Carry Umbrellas!").

You won't want to spend too much time indoors, though. You might prefer a drive to Cherokee to visit the casino or watch some elk, or a shopping trip to Waynesville, Bryson City, Cashiers, or Dillsboro. If you're on two wheels, we can help you plan a route that will keep your knees in the breeze all day long. You bikers who prefer human power will enjoy the Fire Mountain Trails located in Cherokee. If 4-wheeling is more your speed, you'll want to hit the Wayehutta OHV trail and sling some mud.

We designed this space especially for the comfort of those visiting WCU. We had one daughter graduate from WCU, and another who attended college in a small rural town halfway across the country. We know what it's like to drive long distance or have to fly to an airport an hour away from your destination. Catamount Overlook is ready to invite you in the moment you arrive. More than a hotel room, and not as cavernous as a house, this spacioius studio apartment has all you need within reach.

If you plan to work, we have super-fast wifi. There's a smart tv so you can access your favorite streaming service for tv and movies. The small but functional kitchen has everything you need for a night in, and your hosts will help you find the perfect dining experience for a night out.
