Perfectly Located Mountain Cabin with Breathtaking, Long Range Views!

Take a load off at Lazy Bear Cottage, a cute cabin nestled on the side of the mountain that will accommodate up to 6 guests! This privately owned two-bedroom, two-bath cabin offers stunning mountain views, central location and everything you need to call it home.

When you arrive, you will be greeted with warmth and a home full of custom furnishings, decorations and everything you may need for your perfect vacation. The inside is open and spacious will tall vaulted cathedral ceilings, plenty of windows for natural light and an open kitchen/dining/living room space in the front of the home. The living room is equipped with a queen sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with DISH satellite service and high-speed wireless internet service. The owner's suite has a king size bed and its own full bath. The secondary bedroom offers a queen size bed and its own bathroom that can be accessed from the bedroom or the hallway.

Love to entertain and cook? The fully stocked kitchen is ready for your expertise with plenty of space to easily seat your party. Outside you will find a huge wrap-around porch overlooking the woods on one side and the long-range mountain views on the other. Light up the grill or sit by the fire pit and enjoy doing a whole lot of nothing!

The cabin is just minutes from Dillsboro, Sylva and Franklin where you can find dining, over a half-dozen breweries, shopping, historic Main Street activities and festivals, rafting, hiking and so much more all within 15 or so minutes. Take a drive over to the Nantahala for some of the best whitewater rafting around, press your luck in Cherokee at the Harrahs Casino or shoot over to Maggie Valley for snow skiing in the winter, all a quick 30-35 minutes drive away! Great cabin in the mountains!

We really enjoyed our short stay at this cabin. It was just what we were looking for. The view was amazing and the interior was cute and cozy. The drive up the mountain was a little scarier than we realized it would be but we quickly got used to it. It was a great spot to stay while exploring the area.

Private and peaceful cabin with a killer view. Cabin was very clean with everything we needed. Loved the fire pit and porches! Driveway was a bit of a challenge but fine with my Dodge Ram

Nice property

Very nice property with great views. Location is easy to get to, but recommend a vehicle that isn't low to the ground, it may scrape in some spots on the way up the gravel road. Would definitely stay again.

Great Little Hideaway

Great little hideaway! Centrally located to Sylva, Franklin, Cherokee and the list goes on. We were in town looking at purchasing our own property and this was the perfect "Base of Operations"! We had a Great time!

WCU Graduation weekend getaway

Excellent location - just 20 minutes to campus. Loved the fire pit and mountain views. Beds were super comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Private home in NC mountains

Beautiful home, very clean and everything you need for a getaway in the mountains. Fully stocked kitchen with extra appliances, washer and dryer. Comfy bed. Great wifi. Firepit with chairs and outdoor seating overlooking the mountains. Very quiet and private area. Only enough parking for 2 vehicles. We highly recommend.

Comfy stay

We had a really nice stay! It’s a quiet location and comfy cabin. Everything you’ll need is there. We made s’mores by the fire. Sat on the porch and took in the view. It was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Amazing Home!

This property was exceptional. The owners have thought of everything and more for their guests to have a cozy, comfortable stay. The house and views are gorgeous and the firepit is a hit. The owners have put lots of thought into decor, cleanliness and organization. We loved this property!

Great view and property

This was our second time staying at this house. Great property and very clean. Appreciate that no air fresheners or unnecessary fragrances are present. We had a minor issue with the WiFi but the host was very accommodating and quickly responded. Will definitely stay here again if we are in this area.

Mountain Paradise

Beautiful cabin home in the mountains. We came to parents weekend for WCU and this house was about 20 min away but still easy to get to downtown Dillsboro or Sylva. We truly enjoyed the stocked kitchen for family dinners and the fire pit for s’mores and lots of laughs. Getting to the cabin and checking in was super easy and any questions I had were answered very quickly. This was definitely a little piece of heaven.

Family around the fire

This was the perfect place to stay and spend evenings around the fire. We loved that there was enough wood provided for multiple evenings, roasting marshmallows on the provided sticks, and space for five to sit around chatting. With two bedrooms and bath, the family had what was needed for the evening. Suggestion is to have one more red chair for the firepit--assume it recently needed to be replaced and just hadn't been yet :) Thanks to you and the property manager for being quick to respond during and after the rental process.

Gorgeous Mountain Views

Great location, great views, great times. We’ve stayed at many vrbo rental cabins over the years. Some of which are a bit of a hike to get up to. This cabin was perfectly located and was not hard to get to either. There was always a little park next to creek right down the road. Which was perfect for two restless kiddos after a 12 hour road trip. The cabin was still cutely decorated for Christmas. The beds and pillows were comfy. The only thing we were little weary about was the dining chairs. They are not suitable for larger guests. Other than that- truly amazing time and amazing cabin! Thank you

Overall ok experience

Location and view is good but the drive way is not good. Our car got stuck when going down the hill to the Cabin. Probably not safe for kids since there is no fence. Bathroom are not clean. Bathroom can be more cleaner. We had so much hope grilling but grill is all rusty, as soon as we open the grill we closed it. Overall ok experience.

The cabin is precious and scenery beautiful but we had no way to get in touch with the property manager or owners about issues. We had no sheets for the pullout bed, it stuck and would not fold back in and the power went out for over 12 hrs. These are minor things and we made do BUT no one returned our calls. One person called back and said they no longer worked for the rental company. Very frustrating and scary. If there was a serious issue there was no way to contact anyone. The owners left a note saying don't hesitate to contact but no email or phone number to do so. My emails from VRBO left a number for the owners but that was the person who no longer worked for them.

We are just your normal couple from Charleston, SC that LOVE the mountains! Some of our interests are exploring, antique shopping, breweries, getting in and on the water, hiking, and live music. We have 3 kids, a freshman at C of C and 2 seniors in High School.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We always enjoyed trips to the NC Mountains with our kids in the Summer to get away from the heat of Charleston, SC. Hiking, shopping, breweries and anything having to do with getting on or in the water are some of our favorite things to do. We started to look for a small cabin in 2020 and came across this one and fell in love. Brandy decorated the cabin down to each little detail to make it feel like our home and yours. The location is perfect. It's located about 5 hours away from us, is "secluded" but so close to everything we love about the mountains. Also, Brad is a Realtor and the internet and connectivity is huge. When we drove up to the house and saw that we both had 4 bars of Verizon service which made it that much better to be able to work while away. We hope that you will fall in love as we did, come stay at LBC and see for yourself!
