The View is a quintessential one-story New England cottage with stunning views of Pigeon Cove. This rental home has two bedrooms, an open plan living/dining room with a wall of windows looking out towards the ocean, a modern kitchen, and a 3-season glassed-in porch offering an extra sleeping space, and a deck. Air conditioning will keep you cool throughout the house on those warm summer days and nights.

Enjoy the ocean breezes and stunning views while dining or relaxing on the deck. The outdoor table seats up to 4 and comes with an umbrella providing shade when needed. Grill up your favorite summer meal on the small gas grill.

Escape to this private coastal paradise with breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Granite Pier, Rockport's coastline, and out to the Straitsmouth Lighthouse. Less than a mile from downtown Rockport, explore all that the village has to offer with its galleries, shops, and restaurants, or wander to the beaches, quarries, or parks for some outdoor adventures.

The Perfect Spot

What a perfect spot to enjoy Rockport and the Cape Ann area! The house was spotless and had everything we needed. It was the perfect size for 5 adults. We would easily stay here again and really hope to actually do so one day soon.

Awesome View

Beautiful area. Love love love the view! Walkable to the train without luggage. Taxi service is great, recommend getting a taxi from the train when you have luggage. Perfect setting.

Perfect spot for our holiday weekend

We had wonderful time staying at this home perched high on a ledge overlooking the ocean and awakening to amazing sunrises. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable with wonderful linens. The location is very convenient to the village of Rockport and other area attractions. We feel very fortunate that we picked this special place to celebrate Christmas with our family.

The room definitely has a view!!! And a spectacular one at that!!!

Renting process was so easy. I really am having great luck with Vrbo! The view was exceptional, full of charm and in such an outstanding location!! The house was wonderfully stocked. I truly enjoyed my stay! I don’t think my family saw me smile so much!

Sweeping views & lovely sunrises

Thanks for an enjoyable stay in Rockport. The property featured a well-stocked kitchen, new appliances and breathtaking vistas of the water. Unfortunately, the timing of our autumn visit was after several businesses (retail shops/galleries/restaurants) already closed or operated on a significantly reduced schedule. We spent time on walks around Rockport and in Halibut State Park. We recommend checking out the local performance center (Shalin Liu) which attracts strong talent to the area. Brothers Brew donuts were also noteworthy.

A single person can be very comfortable in the sun room as you can close both sliders and curtains for privacy. There is a trundle but it might be a bit tight for two. The kitchen is very well appointed and the refrigerator is huge. The property is spotless and the company supplied way more towels and blankets than we could use! This was at the top end of our budget but we did not regret one moment!

Wicked views!

The whole process was very easy! The property is in a great location, like everyone says the pictures don’t do the views justice!! A little updating would be great, the main bathroom they did nice work! The master bedroom and bathroom needs a lot of work, doesn’t disrupt your stay though ,everything is functional and clean! Rockport and the surrounding area is beautiful a secret hidden gem!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at many Cape Ann coastal property rentals and this was the best. Won't stay anywhere else if we don't have to. Property was as described in ad. Clean, well cared for, everything you need - lots of coffee pods, sugar, tea, spices, dishes, cookware, etc. We did less running around than we usually do because we loved being there so much. My aunt came down from Maine for two nights and the house has a great layout for that. She had her own room and bathroom at one end and the master bed and bath was at the other end. Would be a perfect setup for two couples or people with kids as the day room has a trundle bed. Overall excellent rental. We took a cruise on the Thomas E Lannon - always enjoyable, but several other outings were cancelled due to weather. We lived in Gloucester for awhile a few years back and love it. Had to leave for a job, but hope to return permanently someday. Great community. Restaurants consistently provide great food and service.

Reviewer Comments: We were in town for a wedding in Gloucester and, despite the slight headache of traveling back and forth, are so glad we stayed in Rockport. This house was just what we needed for us, our little one, and his grandparents. It was fairly kid-friendly and we moved some things around to make sure it was, there were toys and kid sized chairs, and the view can't be beat. We love the addition of the binoculars! We would love to return to Rockport and certainly recommend this home to anyone looking to be close to everything but with privacy and a perfect view.

As lovely as I thought it would be!

Other than one day of a view of pea soup fog (post tropical storm Henri) and one day without the a/c working, everything was perfect! My brother really enjoyed being able to watch a baseball game and the ocean at the same time. I’ve been renting from AVH for 9 years and I’ve seen places come on and then go off the rental market – I do hope “The View” is available again. Glad I spotted it as a new rental this year!

Having it all on one level was great for my 88 year old father. You can go into the busy town but then feel like your're totally out of the fray in this beautiful spot. It's a very homey and comfortable house with a feeling of happy memories in it.

It seems to have everything a renter would need. The kitchen looks beautifully up to date with a big fridge. We woke up every morning to gorgeous sunrises and watched the lobster boats go out. The views are spectacular from this cottage! We swam at Back Beach and dined on Bearskin Neck and in Essex. A pleasant and memorable stay.
