Woodsy Retreat has the trail to the temperate rain forest, and outdoor spa.

"Enjoyed" is the critical word here. #WoodsyRetreat seeks that outcome—pure enjoyment, ease, and deep rest—which is what we strive to cultivate for every single guest who enters the forest. WoodsyRetreat's standard of excellence is anticipating every detail before you even realize you need it. In fact, our guest book is filled with travelers noting that they couldn't think of a single thing we forgot! From fully stocking every comfort to curating our private outdoor spa under the canopy of the temperate rainforest, WoodsyRetreat sets the stage for relaxation so you can enjoy your time here.

Woodsy Retreat is the only outdoor private spa equipped with a hot tub, clawfoot tub, shower, sink, and enclosed outdoor bathroom. The patio's outdoor swinging daybed with a heater is a big hit. Outdoor laundry is reserved for guests only. Inside, guests rave about the coffee/tea bar, plus the pool table and luxury bedding. Every window offers a view of the temperate rainforest.

#WoodsyRetreat is designed as a true sanctuary, standing as the only short-term rental in the state featuring a completely private outdoor spa complete with a hot tub, clawfoot bathtub, shower, and amenities surrounded by nature. We take great care in curating every detail for our guests—from welcoming you with fresh artisan bread, fine cheeses, and curated snacks to stocking a coffee and tea bar that guests often tell us is the best they’ve encountered. Inside, every room offers views of the surrounding rainforest, accompanied by top-quality linens and thick, plush towels. While it is unfortunate that travelers rarely encounter this level of care on their journeys, providing an exceptional, unforgettable experience is our highest priority at #WoodsyRetreat. As Arnie said in his Terminator film, "I'll be back," and all our guests echo it.

We love hearing that Woodsy Retreat felt like a dream getaway. The awe many guests describe begins the moment they walk down from the private parking pad to the entrance. Within just a few steps, you are immersed in the temperate rainforest—secluded, private, quiet, and surrounded by the beauty of the trees. Many guests tell us it is unlike anything they have encountered, both inside and out. Then there are the little things that create that feeling of being cared for: snacks waiting for you, a stocked refrigerator and kitchen, and the coffee and tea bar. And then there is the completely private outdoor spa—not shared—with the hot tub, clawfoot tub, shower, and sink tucked beneath the boughs of the rainforest. In 3–4 minutes, you can be walking in the state park. About 7 minutes farther and you're at the beach, where you may encounter harbor seals, birds, coyotes, and even black bears. It is hard to stay longer when you have to leave—but when you return, give yourself more time next visit. The rainforest will be here waiting for you. 🌲

#Woodsy Retreat has many guests who sleep outside on the swinging daybed year-round! Many guests describe the daybed and private outdoor spa as the first outdoor bedroom with spa bathroom amenities they have ever experienced. Woodsy Retreat's reputation for the best night's sleep, draped in the most luxurious sheets and linen that are ironed, best mattresses, the coffee/tea bar, and a stocked refrigerator and kitchen with all the necessities, actually came about when we noticed that guests who parked on the guest private parking pad never left to get groceries. The good night's sleep also comes from being immersed in the rainforest. #WoodsyRetreat won its 3rd Google Reviews award for being the best in Olympia.

#WoodsyRetreat is a place where memories are created in the rainforest—quiet, tucked into the woods, where the hot tub, the forest, and the space itself all work together. It’s often called a hidden gem, and that's because of what people experience here, not just what they see. The memories formed—the images, the stillness—create space within us for something deeper, like forest bathing, to actually happen. We keep it simple on purpose, because what is simple is complex: private, comfortable, and grounded in the rainforest. Once that experience settles into memory—through time with others and, just as much, through time with the forest—it begins to shift the pace of life beyond the stay, easing some of the world's constant demands.

#WoodsyRetreat delivers an immersive hospitality experience that consistently exceeds guest expectations. One of the property's greatest strengths is its thoughtful design, which allows visitors to feel fully connected to the surrounding temperate rainforest. Guests frequently comment on how carefully the retreat has been curated to create a peaceful, nature-focused escape. A standout feature is the unique outdoor spa area, complete with a hot tub, a clawfoot bathtub, a shower, and an enclosed toilet. Rather than simply offering luxury amenities, these spaces enhance the feeling of being surrounded by nature while maintaining comfort and privacy. The retreat's location further enriches the guest experience. A state park is just a few minutes away, while a pristine beach can be reached in another five minutes. The beach offers opportunities to observe local wildlife, including fish and harbor seals, and during the summer months it becomes a popular destination for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and other outdoor activities. Overall, #WoodsyRetreat excels by combining exceptional hospitality with authentic nature immersion. Its carefully curated amenities, tranquil rainforest setting, and convenient access to parks and the coast create a memorable retreat for travelers seeking relaxation, adventure, and a genuine connection with the natural environment.

Why people are calling it phenomenal—that word carries weight, and we don’t take it lightly. #WoodsyRetreat has quietly become known as a hidden gem in Olympia because guests come here for something specific—not just a stay, but an experience. We welcome both national and international travelers seeking the stillness of the Pacific Northwest rainforest and the kind of reset that only happens when you step into it fully. Set near Tolmie State Park, this is a place for forest bathing, deep quiet, and private retreat. The 1,200 sq ft daylight walkout suite, private outdoor spa, and surrounding canopy are all designed to let the forest do what it naturally does—slow things down, clear the noise, and bring you back into rhythm. It's a ten minute walk to the beach, and less than a minute drive to the park entrance.

Celebrated once again as the Best of Olympia, #WoodsyRetreat offers an unmatched boutique lodging experience. Guests are fully immersed in the old-growth canopy of the temperate rainforest, moving seamlessly from the light-filled walkout interior to the quiet expanse of state park trails, shoreline, and a private outdoor spa. Standing alone as the only short-term rental in the region to feature its own dedicated spa, the retreat represents a thoughtful symbiosis where intentional living spaces gracefully yield to the surrounding wilderness.

For years, #WoodsyRetreat has drawn guests seeking more than a standard stay—forest bathing, quiet, and a fully private spa experience. The 1,200-square-foot daylight walkout suite is designed as a boutique, executive-level retreat, not a manufactured or one-size-fits-all space. Tucked into the temperate rainforest, the outdoor spa is completely private and secluded, allowing guests to settle into the forest's rhythm without interruption. We host a wide range of stays—writers, women’s retreats, small weddings, family gatherings, and remote workers—all drawn to the same thing: a place that supports rest, focus, and connection. And just as important, we’ve worked to keep it accessible and fairly priced, especially at a time when that matters more than ever. We welcome back many of our guests.

#WoodsyRetreat is curated to turn a rough day into a comforting, effortless evening! That is exactly why we keep those top-shelf grilled cheese provisions on hand—sometimes the best part of a retreat is simply not having to make another decision. When guests book, it's for the experiences. Why? Experiences capture the heart of what we try to curate at #WoodsyRetreat. We’ve noticed that when guests arrive, they often choose to stay on the property rather than go out for groceries or dinner. Today’s world of work and living can be hectic and debilitating, and a growing body of research shows that the true healing properties of Nature require a deep, physical immersion rather than just digital sound bites or videos. And that is how we curate Woodsy Retreat. But most of the credit goes to the PNW rainforest. Living and hosting in this Pacific Northwest landscape has taught us that guests truly need to be fully enveloped by the forest to reset. Our highest priority as hosts is to remain deeply sensitive and responsive to our guests' needs, ensuring you feel genuinely cared for and at home—but better. The PNW rainforest and Woodsy Retreat welcome guests back who need to step away from the noise and sink back into the quiet of the rainforest!

#WoodsyRetreat was designed in partnership with the PNW rainforest itself. The goal is not just a place to stay, but an immersion into the landscape. From the trail to the water to the views from the rooms, every detail — the thick blankets, high-thread-count bedding, the warmth of a gas stove, spa amenities, and deep-cleaning standards — is intentionally curated to support a sense of forest bathing and restoration. Whether guests are relaxing indoors or enjoying the private hot tub under the trees, the space is meant to feel peaceful, cozy, and intentionally cared for. Guests truly deserve to experience awe and wonder in the rainforest — and in that experience, something shifts. The nervous system settles. People begin to feel cared for themselves. This is also memory-making in the deepest sense. How we live our lives is carried forward — into our present relationships and into future generations. Moments of rest, beauty, and connection to nature are not small things. They become part of our lived memory. That is the quiet magic of Woodsy Retreat. Nature does what it has always done — it brings us back to ourselves. And that is why guests treasure their time here.

At #WoodsyRetreat, many guests return again and again because the experience becomes more than just a place to stay. Located right in a state park rainforest with immediate access to the shoreline of Tolmie State Park creates a different kind of intimacy with the environment. It becomes a sensory memory—salt air, tall trees, shifting tides, and the quiet rhythm of the Pacific Northwest rainforest. When people travel, life often arrives with its own stresses—weather patterns like atmospheric rivers, long drives, or simply the need to slow down. The space here is curated with that in mind. The 1,200-square-foot daylight walkout suite is designed to feel open to the forest while remaining private, including a secluded outdoor spa, comfortable gathering areas, and a pool table for relaxed evenings. The goal is simple: create an environment where the landscape becomes part of the experience, not just the view outside the window.

Title: Guests want for nothing! At Woodsy Retreat, we truly believe guests should want for nothing — that’s what makes a retreat special. All enjoy the breakfast and drink options, as well as the artisan bread and cheese plate. The pool table is sought after. Our outdoor spa area, complete with the swing daybed and heater, is one of our favorite features too — it’s a rare find in vacation rentals and designed for year-round relaxation. And yes, the bedding gets a lot of attention! We love creating that crisp, clean, hotel-quality feel, and we’re always happy to share details with guests who ask. The spa is awaiting your next visit!

#WoodsyRetreat's coffee/Tea bar is the number one spot for the best coffee and tea, hot chocolate, and medicinal teas to experience. As hosts, we make sure guests get the best sleep by providing the best bed linens and ironing. The location is the best, as Woodsy Retreat is immersed in a temperate rainforest yet close to amenities. Plus, Woodsy Retreat is affordable and the only rental with an outdoor spa under the forest branches and stars.

Thank you for naming what matters—cleanliness, comfort, and a space that feels cared for. #WoodsyRetreat was recognized as Best of Olympia 2026 in Google Reviews because guests consistently experience that level of detail—from the quality of the linens and interior, to the quiet of the forest and the private outdoor spa under the canopy. Being set within the rainforest near Tolmie State Park shapes everything here. This isn’t a standard rental—it’s a 1,200 sq. ft. executive-level suite with a fully private spa, a pool table, and a setting that is both secluded and connected to the landscape. Even the water reflects that difference, sourced from a deep artisanal well known locally for its purity; it is over 3,000 years old. We often hear that guests arrive after other stays that didn’t meet expectations. That’s exactly why we hold a higher standard. This is meant to be a true retreat—quiet, well-appointed, and consistent in quality. We’re glad it felt that way for you, and we’d be happy to welcome you back anytime.

At #WoodsyRetreat, the goal has always been to create a place where the mind and body can slow down and settle back into a natural rhythm. When life pushes us into constant “doing,” the mind can feel stretched thin—almost like a high-stress falsetto. Nature acts as the grounding wire, bringing that energy back into a steadier, resonant pace. This is why we carefully curate the 1,200-square-foot daylight walkout retreat, with views of the temperate rainforest from every room, a private outdoor spa, and several quiet spaces designed for reading, resting, or simply listening to the forest. Just steps away is the rainforest and shoreline of Tolmie State Park. When people walk the trails or sit near the water, something subtle happens—the body begins to match the slower rhythms of the environment. Breath slows. The nervous system settles. The mind reconnects with the deeper fabric of being. We’re grateful that the retreat recently received the Best of 2026 Olympia Bed & Breakfast recognition on Google Reviews, and we continue to shape the space so guests can experience the same quiet restoration. The owls, the forest air, the warmth of the hot tub, and the small comforts inside are all part of that experience. We continue to curate the Woodsy Retreat as a place to experience nature, which relaxes and restores in these difficult times.

At #WoodsyRetreat, the experience is shaped by the “little touches” that come from curating the space in partnership with the Pacific Northwest rainforest itself. The design is intentional—drawing on the science of Japanese forest bathing, in which the surrounding forest environment becomes part of the restorative experience. Everything here reflects that relationship to place. The property sits within the living ecosystem of the rainforest, and even the water reflects the land. Our well water is estimated to be 3,000 years old, drawn from deep underground aquifers, and is known locally for its exceptional purity and taste. The outdoor spa area is designed for quiet immersion in the forest. The private hot tub and spa space is not shared, allowing guests complete seclusion. The retreat also includes a private entry point to the nearby state park, just about four minutes from the door, so the forest trails and landscape become a natural extension of the stay. Woodsy Retreat is meant to feel less like a place you simply stay and more like a place where you step into the rhythm of the rainforest itself. — Woodsy Retreat
