Steps from the water on a long sandy beach, this home offers opportunities for beach walking, swimming, watching marine activity or simply enjoying the spectacular views. Two kayaks with life jackets are available or bring your own equipment for water sports. Less than a mile from the highly acclaimed Port Ludlow Golf Course as well as the Resort at Port Ludlow with its fine dining, marina and rental amenities. This home offers an upper floor spacious master suite and a queen bedroom on the main floor. A well equipped kitchen and open great room complete the comfortable living area that leads to the patio and beach.

Photos don’t do justice to this gracious, welcoming home. Beautifully decorated and supplied, it provides quiet comfort and gorgeous views overlooking the bay and marina. Owners communicated ahead of our stay making check-in easy and a welcome basket and lovely bouquet of roses from the garden greeted us on entry. Heron House celebrates the herons that do daily fly-bys with sculptures, paintings, and collectibles throughout the house. A large well-stocked kitchen makes it easy to “stay in” and the restaurant at the Inn is five minutes away to “eat out”. Kayaks and fire pit wood are provided outside. A beautiful, quiet respite and perfect location for our family of three adults to celebrate a special birthday.

The Heron House - A Home Away from Home

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Heron House, a truly remarkable property right on the sound. This lovely home exceeded all our expectations with its breathtaking views, fantastic kitchen, and outstanding hosts. The Heron House offers panoramic views of the sound, providing an ever-changing backdrop of seals playing and eagles hunting for fish. The well-equipped kitchens made cooking a delight, and the open-concept living space allowed us to enjoy the views from every corner of the house. The mornings brought a magical touch with fog rolling in from the sound, and the changing colors of the trees added to the charm. The hosts were exceptionally warm and helpful with a wonderful guidebook on things to see and places to eat, making us feel right at home. In summary, the Heron House is a hidden gem for a peaceful retreat with incredible views and modern comforts. We left relaxed and eager to return to this remarkable place as soon as possible. HIGHLY recommended!!

A Wow House!

We had the most wonderful time at this property. The house is just as shown in the listing, immaculately clean and beautiful! Very comfortable furniture, nice layout. The kitchen is very well stocked - you can cook just about anything with ease - (especially helpful since there were no good restaurants nearby...we tried the one at the resort across the bay, it was terribly over priced and the food was awful). The views from the house are beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet and lovely. Having the kayaks at waters edge was fantastic! We started each day out on the water which was really great. We enjoyed exploring the area, Port Townsend is a decent little town but our favorite town was Poulsbo. Lots of cute shops, galleries, and restaurants - JJs Fish House had terrific food - best fish I've had in a long time. We have stayed in many VRBO's around the world in the last 20 years and this one is one of our favorites!

A Wonderful Place

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this house. It's in a secluded location on the beach of Port Ludlow. More than anything else, we enjoyed sitting outside, watching the tide come and go, and spotting the occasional cargo ship in the distance. The house is clean and well-decorated - it felt like a home away from home. There is a view of the water from every room! We would love to stay there again.

Another wonderful stay at this wonderful home!

This was our third time in one year staying at this property. It's is such a lovely home, so comfortable and meticulously maintained. We had lovely weather the week of 9/27/22, and were able to take the kayak's out for a spin. Dick is a great host and we have enjoyed his home and hospitality very much! Will be back soon!

Incredible house, excellent location, responsive owners

We stay at a lot of VRBO houses and this was one of the best equipped, best designed and best situated houses of them all. We loved the quiet location, the enchanting view, the two-story living room window wall, the outdoor seating options, the well-equipped kitchen, the incredible master bathroom, the lazy boy recliners upstairs and being able to do laundry. We appreciated the responsiveness of the owner when the wireless internet was not working. We celebrated our anniversary at the nearby Fireside Restaurant and had a lovely evening enjoying delicious food and local beers. We especially enjoyed the kayaks on our last full day at the house.

Just what we hoped for and more.

Great house, great view and right on the water. The house was wonderful, it had everything we needed and then some. We named it the Heron House as there is all kinds of beautiful heron-themes artwork. The bedroom and bathroom in the upstairs loft was deluxe and the second bedroom downstairs was just fine for the second couple vacationing with us. The view across the bay of the Port Ludlow Marina and Resort was lovely and we were witness to all kinds of marine life including seals, kingfishers, jumping fish, hawks and osprey. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Communications with the host was easy and responsive. I highly recommend this place. :-)

Beachfront Paradise!

This is a true gem! Our 5 star rating list is long... the sandy beach, the vista of Mt. Baker, soaring eagles, sea life, shell collecting, kayaking, watching the boat traffic, bocce ball, campfire with s'mores! The home (inside and out) is beautiful, gorgeous grounds, very clean, comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen! Look forward to our next visit!

Perfect golf getaway hideout

This property was exactly as advertised with beautiful views. Very comfortable and nice layout for two people not related to have separate space. House was completely furnished and even had firewood for evening fires by the water.

Lovely home in Port Ludlow

Beautiful location on the water. Home was lovely and spacious...very high end. Kitchen is large with everything you need...the master bedroom space, bathroom and closet are huge, and the shower is amazing. Quiet area with geese, bald eagles, otters and seals. Great road for early morning walks. We could easily access all the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommended!

Perfect Beach Spot!

The house and property is beautiful, comfortable and very well maintained. Once we arrived at the house, we never left! We enjoyed the beach, the firepit and spent our time relaxing! The neighborhood is nice and we enjoyed long walks taking in the scenery. The kitchen is well appointed and made cooking our own meals a pleasure. I would recommend a "No shoes inside" policy as the house has real wood flooring and light carpeting. We definitely would like to return!

Spectacular View Never Gets Old!

We are so grateful to discover this gem for our family Christmas getaway. Even in the snow, the otters came out to play! We loved the boats decorated in Christmas lights too. We definitely want to come back in the summer to enjoy the kayaks, but this was the exact cozy getaway we were hoping for!
