With the Atlantic Ocean as your backyard, what else could you ask for? Come enjoy this fifth-floor Turtle Dunes villa situated in the gated Amelia Island Plantation Resort on the south end of Amelia Island. It's beautiful ocean views make it perfect for your Florida island getaway!

The bright 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom floorplan offers oceanfront living on the southern end of Amelia Island. The open, updated kitchen features tile floor, plantation shutters, and a large pass-through to the dining and living areas with beach views. The living area has access to the private balcony, which is perfect for dolphin spotting, relaxing with a drink in hand, or watching the sunrise.

Located off the foyer, the guest bedroom has two twin beds and a shared bath. The primary bedroom has a large window providing expansive ocean views, as well as balcony access, a king sized bed, and a private bath.

The Turtle Dunes complex is in an ideal, peaceful location on the southern tip of the Amelia Island Plantation (AIP), a sprawling 1,340-acre paradise that is surrounded by maritime forests, tidal salt marshes and pristine, sandy beaches. Dining, shopping, and spa services are offered at the Omni Amelia Island Resort, located within the AIP.

Take a dip in the large private pool for Turtle Dunes guests, and wander out to the beach, with access just a few steps away on the boardwalk. Turtle Dunes also offers its own private tennis courts for use by guests.

Guests will enjoy the AIP's highly-regarded, easily accessible walking trails, which wind through the oceanside and marshside of the resort community. There's also a luxurious spa, nature center, putt-putt course, and chapel on the resort. Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach is a 20-minute drive north on the island. This charming historic district serves up many high-quality dining options and shopping experiences.

For the golfer, tee times can be scheduled online for the AIP courses Oak Marsh and Little Sandy. There are other great courses mid- and north island as well.

Nearby, bike and golf carts can be rented to explore the larger AIP community and venture to playgrounds like Drummond Park and Aury Island.

Driving south on A1A will take you to the Talbot Islands, wonderful nature preserves known for gentle hiking and excellent birding opportunities.

Wonderful stay

We only stayed a few days and didn’t get to explore the area too much but the condo was perfect. As advertised!!! Would definitely stay again if we are back in the area. Great little escape for the Christmas holiday.

Great Beach Location

We loved this condo and the complex of Turtle Dunes. Great location inside the Omni Amelia Island Resort. The pool was amazing, and the beach was wide open and not crowded at all during our stay. We will definitely be back.

Great place! Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Saw the property on VRBO and booked it only to find out that Destination Amelia was handling the rental. Destination Amelia was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area over the phone and were quick to respond to questions and help out during our stay. I was very pleased and would definitely rent through them next time we go to Amelia.

Wonderful experience

This was our first trip to Amelia Island and we loved everything about it! The condo was exactly what we needed. It was clean, comfortable, and the views were beautiful! We watched the sunrise over the ocean each morning from the balcony. We can’t wait to come back and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Oceanfront

The property is very nice and oceanfront. It is located at the far end of the island and you do have to drive if you want to go out to dinner, or lunch. The unit is compact and the living area offers only an L-shaped sofa for seating. The unit is nicely decorated.

Loved It!!

This place was excellent!! View was spectacular and easy walk to the beach and pool. It has everything we needed (except shampoo), including beach chairs, towels and umbrella. Master bed was really comfortable!! It was nice having a key pad instead of a key. Beautiful place - the only reason I gave it a 4 for accuracy was because the furniture was different in the listing pictures.

Beautiful Location

The property was right on the beach. Very well-appointed. The only downside was the pool was unavailable because of delays in construction at the pool. This information was never communicated and could have been more transparent.

Perfect getaway

Decided last minute to take a quick getaway to the beach with my daughter and her friend. Had never been to Amelia Island before but had been recommended by friends. Booked this condo only a few days before we were going. We received confirmation immediately and that was quickly followed up with lots of helpful Information about the unit, the resort and Amelia in general. Got reminders about checking in procedures which were great. The unit was sparkling clean, spacious and very comfortable. It had everything we could have asked for. We cooked in most meals and the kitchen was fully equipped. We rented bikes and it was super easy to store them at the complex and to get around on the bike paths. There were maps and restaurant guides and information about things to do all left for us to peruse. Check out was easy. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back with the rest of our family. Highly recommend this property.

Amelia Island is great

The short review: The property is as advertised, the beach is an easy walk, and the pool is great for kids to play in. We would absolutely come back again. Now for some details The beach: We've been vacationing on 30A for years and were a little worried about this beach. We were pleased with what we found. While AI's beaches are not as soft, they are soft enough to comfortably play in the sand. In fact, it's better for sand castle building than 30A beaches. There are also more sea shells to find. So if you have young children, the beaches of Amelia Island will do you well. The Condo: The condo is in excellent condition and the furniture is comfortable. The master bedroom has a king bed that is soft and we slept well. The AC is powerful so you don't have to run it all the time. For a fun game with the kids, you can play count the turtles in the condo. The pool: We found two pools, but spend all our time at the one closest to the condo. It's max depth is about 5 feet, so it's good for kids to play around in. The staff cleans the pool regularly. The resort: The condo is a part of the Omni resort. Everything you'll need is there if you don't want to leave the property. From golf, to putt putt, a small nature center, restaurants, bike paths, and a playground on an "island" with pretend ships and tree to climb. Amelia Island: The character of the island is wonderful. With its mossy oaks as you drive along the roads and attractions. We spend an afternoon at Fort Clinch state park on the northern part of the island. There's plenty to do outside of the resort if you want to check out the area. Destination Amelia: If you've read this far, you should now that the rental company is friendly. They send several touch point emails before arrival, and one will contain accurate directions to enter the property. So use maps to get to the island, but have their directions handy as you'll need to enter and check in with security when you arrive. Enjoy!

Family beach trip

1866 Turtle Dunes is a beautiful property and one of the most nicely appointed condos we have ever visited! The beach and surrounding areas were great too. The only issue we had was with parking due to the number of golf carts in the complex. There are "golf cart only" spaces but there were some owners who parked in the other spaces that should have been for cars. This was no fault of the owners and the rental agency said it had just become an issue and the complex and security were trying to resolve the problem. Overall, a great vacation and a place we wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!
