Welcome to your new home-away-from-home here at Miners Roost! You're sure to make new lasting memories when staying at this wonderful cabin on the hillside, with a great Westerly view, modern amenities, hot tub, shuffleboard, and room to spread out. Located in the Terry Peak subdivision and close to the Stewart Lodge at Terry Peak, it's a great year-round location close to skiing/snowboarding, within minutes to the local UTV trails, just 10 minutes from the amazing Spearfish Canyon with it's hiking trails and great fishing, and great casinos and restaurants in Deadwood a short 15 minute taxi ride away. You'll also love the beautiful 1 hour drive down to highly popular places like Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake and more in the Central Black Hills. It's a great location to enjoy proximity to trails, and be close to great nightlife, State and National parks, and more. Whether you're visiting to take in a starry night sky on the deck, a weekend away, or a Black Hills tour, Miners Roost is sure to make for that perfect place to call home during your visit.

The cabin has been designed and built with your comfort and relaxation in mind. There's 2600 sq. ft of space on 3-levels making it great to spread out! The open floor plan on the main level great for entertaining with it's seamless kitchen/dining/living area. There's a gas fireplace as well, and it opens to the walk-out covered deck with a great view. The master bedroom is on the main level with a private bathroom, as well as a half bathroom off the kitchen. The upper level includes a comfy sectional couch in the loft, unique wood accented ceiling and another bedroom/bathroom. On the lower level, you'll love the living area with a TV, large sectional sofa, and a shuffleboard table. There's also 2 bedrooms on the lower level with built in bunk beds. The lower level has a walk out to the covered patio, where you'll enjoy the hot tub under the starry night skies.

Great cabin, perfect location! Cab drivers will come back and forth to town. Overall clean, other than floors and under furniture. Walls are pretty thin so be cautious of that if you are with a larger group. Set up very well for a big group, rooms are spaced out to ensure everyone has their own space!

great ski cabin

We had 4 families that went skiing for multiple days and the cabin fit all of us well. The driveway fit two suburbans, full size pickup, and a smaller SUV. The location was excellent and was well set up with 4 bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, crockpot, etc. Kids enjoyed the shuffleboard table. The hot tub was great after a full day of skiing. 4 wheel drive is necessary to get up the road after it snows. only two negatives: -the beds were very hard and I hurt worse from the beds than I do from three days of hard skiing. -the sheets were rough and scratchy. if these two things could be addressed the place would have gotten a perfect score in our book.

Troubled start, but 1st place finish.

Well, there were some issues, like 4 foot of snow that hadn't been removed before our arrival, and when I finally made it into the home it was 38° and took 2 whole days to warm up. The house was beautiful, and spacious. We truly enjoyed it once it warmed up. Budi, the gal who runs this show was pretty overwhelmed and we had a decent argument at first, but we both realized we weren't being very easy to work with, and apologized, moved forward and it was a kick ass weekend. I get it there was a huge snowstorm, and I was told they may not be totally ready when we get there. That's dandy that the snow wasn't removed, you can only work so fast in those conditions, but the house being 38° wasn't okay. I'm not joking when I say it took 2 days to warm up. We had an 8 week old baby, and 2 year Olds, as well as other children in the cabin. We packed warm, thank God, because the cold was hard on me, and I'm a grown man. I felt awful for those kids, one of them was so cold he was crying in the middle of the night. Anyway, I'd rate this at a 4 star, because the amazing time I spent with my family was so worth the brutal cold. I also want to give budi and her crew some slack. They have a lot of properties to take care of, and that storm was insane! Once I called her and told her there was still 4 foot of snow, she had a plow at our cabin within 20 minutes.

We could have easily ans comfortably added another family because it was so spacious and had plenty of beds & couches. Lots of linens, blankets and towels in every closet. Beautiful views, safe, clean and quiet neighborhood. The decks were great. The property is very steep and didn’t leave much outside play space for the kids, but still overall a very nice place to stay that would certainly be perfect during ski season!

The only negatives would be the washer and dryer and the hot tub. Washer didn’t ring clothes out real well, and the dryer door doesn’t stay latched. The hot tub was not hot, more like a warm water pool.

It worked out well with the bunk beds in 2 of the bedrooms. We really enjoyed the back deck with its nice views. The parking situation was not ideal. the driveway is very small and will not accommodate more than one trailer. Several of our party had to pay for parking at the nearby Terry Peak Lodge. It would have been nice to know about the limited parking in advance. It is a new development and the road is not finished. Be prepared for rough terrain! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
