Top Floor Suite of classic 1940's Beach Cottage

This charming classic 1940's beach cottage is just steps from the beach, shops & local dining! A comfortable, cozy "at home" feeling with warm earthy tones, wood floors and cedar paneling accent this top floor suite's 3 bedrooms, one bath, separate living room, kitchen, and dining area. Feel like you are up in an aerie and enjoy sea breezes on the front porch in rocking chairs with and view of the ocean a half-block away. This single floor suite accommodates smaller groups of up to six adults but it can be combined with the main floor- "Captain's Quarters" below, as a whole house rental for larger family gatherings, via a central spiral stairway. The door to this stairway will remain locked if rented individually. "Captain's Quarters" is named for the nautical feel evoked by the rope-wrapped central spiral stair. Please see our separate listing on VRBO-2314292. Each floor is 1100 square feet. The porch is 200square feet. Originally built in 1920 this property has been renovated several times but still retains the warm feel of a Classic cottage.

We had a marvelous and relaxing stay at Barbara’s lovely and spotless “Pink House.” Even during an extreme heat wave, we enjoyed sea breezes on the front porch and colorful sunrises and sunsets. The house is nicely renovated and perfectly furnished for a comfortable stay, but the location itself exceeded all expectations. It’s our new favorite location on the island - just one house off Lumina between the bridges, easy walking distance to either Johnny Mercer’s Pier or the Breeza “downtown” area. The under-house storage area is thoughtfully enclosed and includes a pristine laundry area and beach shower as well as chairs and wagons, even coolers, to borrow. We had great weather for reading and swimming and making the most of our time at the beach, just a short walk from the house via a really good access point. Communications with Barbara and her support team were top notch. We can’t wait to book our next visit!

The pink house was such a neat place, super clean and comfy and a really great location. The host was super responsive and thought of little things to make our stay better. Would recommend the pink house to future beachgoers!!

Eagle’s Nest at the Pink House

Our stay at the Pink House (upstairs) was just what our family needed. Close proximity to the beach, N Lumina Ave and downtown Wilmington made for an excellent location! This is definitely a 1940s cottage experience and fit our needs perfectly. Ryan and Kelly (hosts) checked in with us promptly and although we didn’t need anything while we were there, we knew they would have responded promptly if needed. Thank you also to Barbara who made the booking process exceptionally easy, which included working with us for a slightly earlier check in. Great experience and we will book the Eagle’s Nest in the future!

Excellent Stay

We really enjoyed our stay on the top floor of this 1940s beach cottage. It was clean and the location was excellent with a short walk to the beach. The porch is amazing with a view of the ocean in the distance. The kitchen was well stocked and it was nice that beach chairs were provided as well as other beach equipment (paddle ball, wagon, boogie boards etc...) The owner was very kind and responsive.

This is a nice and clean place with a great location. There is a view from the porch. The kitchen is very small, but it’s priced accordingly.

House was great! Deck was awesome! Location is great. Third bedroom/pullout sofa was very dated and uncomfortable, but my boys didn’t care. Also could’ve used a dishwasher. Other than that we would definitely go again.

Home away from home

The property was perfect. Close to the beach and town area. We sat on the rockers at night and enjoyed our shorts stay. It was a relaxing weekend.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay. Close to the beach, walking distance to good restaurants and shops. Quiet neighborhood. This was our second stay and the reasons for coming back are strong. The unit is comfortable and well appointed.

4th of July Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation on Wrightsville Beach. The Pink House was perfect for this family vacation and the location is great. The beach chairs and wagon made heading to the beach comfortable. We will definitely look to book this spot in the future. Unfortunately the grill was not usable for finishing the ribs in the 4th. Other than that the Eagles Nest was comfortable and we enjoyed watching fireworks on the porch.

Great place that is really well stocked.

This was a great rental for our family of 5 who ver Memorial Day. Very well stocked with chairs and boogie boards. They also had umbrellas and some other stuff down below. We wished we hadn’t jammed our chairs in the car as there was no need just bring your Shibumi from home. Kitchen was super well stocked too. The only thing that was missing was a dishwasher but we just bought some paper plates and cups to cut down on dishes. Really great location with easy walk downtown or to Mercers pier. Fishing and sound access at end of short street a block away. Great porch and views.

Eagle’s Nest

We rented both floors for our family stay. 2nd floor did not have the same kitchen area as 1st floor which was fine since we had access to both. No dishwasher upstairs, microwave was on top of fridge, and was difficult to access. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect, we walked to beach, restaurants and shops. We had access to beach chairs, umbrellas, and room to store our surfboards during our stay. Great communication with our host, Barbara. We will stay at the Pink House again!

Perfect for a family weekend at the beach

This house was absolutely perfect for a family weekend! The amenities were top notch and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to be able to prep meals at home and avoid the Labor Day crowds. We will definitely keep this house on our list for a repeat visit. Barbara and Ryan could not have been nicer to work with! Each time I reached out with a question, I had a text back in minutes that had everything I needed.

Perfect

Perfect location, very short walk out onto the beach, walking distance to restaurants and bars, pleasant porch sitting at night, all amenities were present, and we had beautiful sand, ocean and sky. Having the beach cart/wagon to pull beach gear was extremely helpful. My only feedback for change would be to upgrade the sleeper sofa. It is uncomfortable. Other than that, everything was perfect with towels and sheets provided. Also, we had very responsive communication with the property manager. He was always a text away if we needed him. Thank you, Ryan.

Perfect Getaway

The Pink House was a perfect getaway. It was Extremely clean. It’s a very short walk to the beach. The beach wasn’t crowded like it was in front of condos. Sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch with a cool breeze blowing was a great way to start and end the day.

Family Vacation

We just returned home from a great week at Wrightsville Beach. Our stay at the Pink House was wonderful! It was roomier than we expected. The house was clean and well-equipped. There is not a dishwasher but we knew that from the listing. The unit stayed as cool as we wanted it to. The porch was enjoyable with view and sounds from the ocean. The outside shower with hot water was such a plus! The unit provided a beach wagon and very nice beach chairs! The property manager was very responsive when we had questions. The bottom floor was empty for most of our stay. We were able to hear people under us once they came, but it really wasn’t an issue. The only concern for us was the parking once the other unit was occupied. One of our family members had to leave a day early, so we only had 1 vehicle at that point. If we had to park 4 cars, I am not sure if it would have worked (at least with our larger SUVs). Just something to be aware of. We would stay in this unit again! The walk to the beach was easy and unit is close to a small grocery, a few stores, pizza place and ice cream! Great memories made this week!

Quick stay

Very accommodating under short notice. Perfect location to everything there in Wrightsville. If you can’t get there on foot, it’s a short drive up the road!
