Oceanfront Cottage in Maine

Welcome to Bethany Cottage on Pleasant Beach. Built in 1999, this two story beach front home features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have king sized beds and the fourth bedroom has 3 twin beds. It's the perfect home for a family (or two!) getaway on the beach in Midcoast Maine. With a well equipped kitchen, you'll have everything you need to cook in the home. The complete kitchen also has a microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, and dishwasher. Washer & Dryer available for use upstairs.

Looking to accommodate more than 9 guests? We have another home (2 bedroom, 1 bath) directly next door to this property that sleeps an additional 5 guests. NOTICE: Please be advised that the upstairs balconies and glass sliding doors of each bedroom on the second floor are being removed during repairs in April 2026. The sliding doors will be converted to windows so you will still be able to enjoy gorgeous ocean views from each bedroom in the home. The glass front door on the first floor will be converted to a sliding door with keyed entry.

Wednesday at 8:00 am trash pickup begins and all trash must be bagged, no exceptions. Quiet after 10pm out of respect for our neighbors.

4th Generation to South Thomaston

Easy check in. Fully equipped kitchen. We rented canoes out of Rockland to explore the surrounding islands. Sunrise views from the deck and yard were amazing. We have 4 generations coming to the area and looking forward to the next visit. House was spacious and clean, and host was quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend!!!!

Celebrating my mother 90 birthday

The property location was beautiful. Having access to the beach was wonderful especially for the kids. Although the home was Spacious & great for large family gathering it could use better decorative touch such as rugs, more of Maine feel, upgrade small appliances & outdoor grills that work.

Gorgeous Sunrise Views

Very comfortable beds. Step out onto the deck and enjoy the sunrise over the Gulf of Maine. Beach and firepit were steps away. Manager was very quick to respond to any issues.

Nice Stay

This home was as a lovely stay. The neighborhood was quiet and the grandchildren loved having the beach right outside. The house was clean cozy. The only fault was lack of working outside shower, and the lights over dining table didn't work. fairly minor problems.

Lovely Property, Relaxing, Perfect

Facing the ocean, we watched beautiful sunrises and listened to the waves lapping throughout the night. Took a quick swim in the morning and sat on the rocks. Saw plenty of wildlife. Location is central to Rockland, Thomaston, and Owl's Head; McLoon's nearby is not to be missed. Rockport and Camden are easy. Arcadia is doable and worth a visit. The house is simple, clean and met our needs. Owner was responsive. Would return. Love the area.

Maine Escape

Bethany Cottage was the perfect location for our family vacation. The light snacks provided upon arrival were appreciated. The owners were responsive to any communication. The view is amazing and the beach area was the perfect place for launching kayaks or searching for sea treasures. The home could use an additional sofa to provide more comfortable seating for the number of guests it accomodates. There is also a small grassy path to the parking area that got muddy on rainy days and could use some gravel, etc. Overall, this home is a perfect place to just chill. It accomodates several guests and is well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return soon!

Great Getaway

In the nine months between booking our Maine vacation and our arrival, Aldo was a super host by answering our many questions. We were a large group of 5 teens and 4 adults and had plenty of space in the open concept first floor. There were two large bathrooms, one on each floor and we always had enough hot water. We loved watching the changes between low and high tide, the former providing lots of opportunities for tide pool discoveries. We had kayaks delivered to the house...another fun way to explore the coastline. Rockland and Thomaston are only a few miles away...places where we could pick up any forgotten items. Owls Head Lighthouse in Rockland is also a quick little trip. The cottage was a good area from which to discover the Maine coast, from Bailey Island to Boothbay Harbor, to Bar Harbor near Acadia National Park. Some of the group managed to catch the first sunrise in the US from atop Cadillac mountain. All these destinations were within 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hrs away. All in all, this is a great spot for an active family vacation, especially if you like blueberries!!!

Amazing stay

We had a wonderful time at Bethany Cottage. The location and view were spectacular, we loved sitting on the porch and watching the tide come in and out, playing down on the beach with our 5 and 2 year old, climbing rocks, finding crabs, kayaking and swimming. The house was clean and well stocked with all the necessities. Great location near many cute towns, good food and shopping. The only thing house could have used was more clothing storage in the bedrooms (no dresser in 2 of the bedrooms) and more outdoor furniture (we brought our own chairs). We will definitely be back!
