Encantada Arenal, is an intimate Luxury Adults Only B&B, offering only two delightfully decorated, upscale poolside suites to guest over age 21. Our rooms feature: A/C, WiFi, Hi-Speed Internet, Vaulted Ceilings, Walk-in Rain Shower, Pillow Top Bedding, Quality Linens, Plush Triple Sheeting, Pillow Selection, a Welcome Snack and more!

Enjoy a Gourmet breakfast, Concierge Service and many luxurious extras, such as wine & chocolates, a free load of laundry and a mini bar are all included in your Minimum 2 night stay.

Our spacious Parrot Suite, has a private courtyard entrance and a luxurious King Bed. What a beautiful, cozy and well appointed space. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable, we were close to all the activities but had privacy and quiet. There are some absolutely amazing restaurants close by. We will stay again if we are ever in the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay and all of the activities in and around the house and region. There’s so much to recommend — where to begin? First and foremost, the owners. Marty and Nita are lovely, interesting, worldly, creative and gracious — and especially attentive and generous in their hospitality and knowledge of the area. They gave us good hiking tips, helped arrange a fantastic boat tour, and were always responsive on WhatsApp before and during our trip. Their staff were friendly and talented too, preparing delicious breakfasts at tables adorned with candles and fresh flowers overlooking a lush and gorgeous garden. We loved daily dips in the pool and hot tub, and the private dinner on our last night. An architectural and design splendor, this home is a must-stay!

Perfect getaway

My wife and I stayed here for three nights and they were excellent. The hard work and fantastic customer service of the staff shines and elevated the entire experience. Take advantage of the delicious homemade breakfast that is included!!!

If we could give 6 Stars we’d give 10. Our experience was that incredible. Marty and Nita, Mayqiel and Priscilla outdid themselves in caring for all of our needs. The rooms are amazing. The property, pool, jacuzzi, chairs, lounges, and trail to the jungle were just a part of the appeal to their place. Check-in was easy, and the daily breakfasts were so good. Oh, and let’s not forget the view of the Volcano from the pool and the view of Lake Arenal from the spa. Nothing but goodness, and the spirit of Pura Vida.

Beautiful Location

We had a lovely time during our stay - Marty and Nita and wonderful hosts, excellent communication and guidance. We took advantage of the luxurious massage (a must do) and chefs dinner. The views are amazing. A wonderful stop during our first time in Costa Rica!

We very much enjoyed our 4 nights at Encantada. Marty and Nita were very accommodating, we had interesting conversations as they joined us at breakfast each morning. The food was delicious and the presentation exceptional. The home design, decor and landscaping well done.They offered ideas for nearby activities and restaurants. Would definitely stay with them again if returning to the La Fortuna area.

Amazing property with beautiful views and wonderful hosts.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights celebrating his 50th birthday. The property is absolutely gorgeous and unique. The hosts Nita and Marty and so warm and welcoming. Everyday was started with a delicious breakfast overlooking their beautiful gardens and volcano views when the clouds cooperated. We did a wide variety of activities in the area from hiking to soaking in the hot springs. Best part of our Costa Rica trip by far.

Wonderful place!

This place is gorgeous! Very secluded and quiet too. Breakfast was cooked to order every day. We would definately recommend it.It is a bit of a drive into town (La Fortuna), so a rental car would be a good idea.

Peaceful and Relaxing Stay

Nita and Marty have an amazing property. From the well appointed room to the pristine pool and grounds, their attention to detail is unparalleled. Close to El Castillo attractions and a short drive to La Fortuna it's a perfect romantic location to enjoy the Pura Vida spirit of Costa Rica. We would love to come back.

Beautiful Oasis

This was truly and amazing place to stay! It is more of an oasis than a B&B. The room, property, expansive views, gardens and location were absolutely fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the 5 days we stayed there. The owners are absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to add a personal touch. Amazing homemade breakfast (included) on the veranda was a great start to each day. Highly recommended!!

Fabulous and clean

Nita and Marty have created an absolute oasis! The birding,views and food were outstanding. The staff was responsive and helpful. We had the info we needed to plan numerous adventures. Marty and Nita were away on the other side of the the worldfor our stay. But tgrough What’s App we were able to communicate effectively. The pets were sweet- my husband was particularly appreciative of the pups. We would recommend this propert 100 percent. Thanks to all who made our stay perfect.

Tranquility in Paradise

The amount of effort it has taken to create this place is evident! Amazing doesn’t even say enough

Marty and Nita were amazing hosts. Their entire staff was also so accommodating. We stayed in the parrot suite and it was so cute, comfortable and the views into the wildlife and jungle were so enchanting. The breakfasts were catered to what you wanted each morning. We also had a massage ordered and they have a spa cabana that is serene and relaxing. Marty and Nita communicate and are terrific hosts. We travel a decent amount and this is on our Mount Rushmore of places to stay. You will love it and want to come back. Thank you Marty and Nita!

If only we could have stayed forever

Away in the jungle is this slice of heaven on earth. This amazing homes architecture and beautifully decorated rooms are set on hill with full view of Arenal Volcano. It was such a blessing beings guests of Marty and Nita. They were both jolly on the spot to make sure we had all we needed. Everything was very clean and tidy. Love the dogs and their affection as I was missing mine at home. Excellent hosts. Thank you both for making our 25 wedding anniversary a beautiful memory.

True Paradise!

From the time of booking to the moment we left Marty and Nita were excellent hosts! The property is mesmerizing and they provide excellent info regarding where to eat, excursions, tipping in CR, car rentals, etc. Their property sits atop a small mountain with jungle surroundings, exquisite gardens, and a great view of the volcano. The suite was superb with many extras for use like binoculars, bug spray, umbrellas, toiletries, beverages in the fridge, a welcome gift, robes and slippers to mention a few. The made to order breakfasts were delicious and the pools and hot tub in the pristine surroundings devine. Their fur babies gave us some love which was terrific since we missed ours so much. They only have 2 suites so sometimes it feels like you own the place as you lounge outdoors in the sun. I could go on and on! Highly recommend you stay here! Thank you Marty and Nita for sharing your beautiful property with us. Puravida!

Honeymoon in the Rainforest

We were so lucky to have found this house for our honeymoon! It has a beautiful "theatre" style view from the balcony of the tree line with all kinds of birds flying around. Howler monkeys live near by so we heard them often and got a good view of them one day on hike up the mountain. Breakfast was included and the choices were delicious! We rented a car so we ventured out on different excursions everyday only 15-45 minutes away depending on what we had planned. Although the house is shared with other renters and the hosts, our suite titled the Parrot Room was off to the side so we still felt like we had privacy and could socialize in the kitchen patio or hot tub space when we wanted. This was a very intimate space and a unique way to relax and enjoy the rainforest setting.

This is a beautiful property! We stayed in the Parrot Suite, a large room with a king bed and all the amenities you’d need. I loved the attention to detail and the lovely Welcome Tray was a such a treat. Nita and Marty, although not there at the time, were excellent communicators, kept in touch and answered all question. The on site staff were great, friendly and took good care of us. The outdoor breakfast area was beautiful, overlooked the pool and Arenal Volcano. The choices for breakfast were plentiful and Priscilla cooked all to perfection. Lena gave us ideas of what to do, where to go and was a lovely conversationalist with insights into the Costa Rica lifestyle and culture. The B&B is a bit isolated and we loved the quiet and the fireflies. We didn’t have a car and would recommend having one in order to get out and about. There are a lot of things to do nearby and a car would be helpful. We highly recommend this property. It’s beautiful, well kept and is a little piece of paradise.

At Encantada Arenal we enjoyed the Volcano view . Felt Comforting, serene, well kept, included a great homemade breakfast to start your day cooked by the hosts themselves ! We Loved the environment as a whole . Even includes a spa room with jungle view. I loved Chakra Balancing massage there! Intimate atmosphere with hosts Nita and Marty! Their extended pet family was always popping around to make you feel welcome too! Don’t be deterred by the road up to Encantada Arenal , it’s there! Be aware you may not have internet when you are communicating with hosts. We did have good Wi-Fi once settled in ! Take their lead on suggestions for activities and food! Anything you didn’t know to bring , even bug spray and rain ponchos were available! Five star visit with Marty and Nita as guides to the Costa Rica life , for first time visitors especially ! Pure Vida ! Dan and Diane

Amazing B&B in the cool rainforest mountain top in El Castio

Our stay with Marty and Nita was perfect. Their mountain location is far more comfortable than La Fortuna with cooler temperatures, yet still 30 minutes from everything in the Arenal/La Fortuna areas. You can fly into either airport. Their place is breathtaking with a hot tub view of Arenal lake and an infinity pool view of Arenal volcano. The room and every square inch of their home/B&B has been meticulously thought through with decorations, lights, murals/art, and greenery. The plants on their grounds are beautiful which you can see walking around or down a cool little rainforest trail down to a creek. They even have an onsite massage room which we took advantage of one rainy evening. No noise machine needed with plenty of water, insects, howler monkey, and tucan calls. Breakfast with Marty and Nita every morning was always a treat. They have traveled about everywhere in the world and are a wealth of information for advice on future travels. You simply can't go wrong! Be prepared for an adventerous journey to get there. We came from San Jose and stopped by volcan Poas on the way there, then went home via Liberia so we got a better tour of Costa Rica. It gets dark their early (6 pm ish) and often rains at night so plan to drive it with plenty of daylight hours so you enjoy the trip and arrive safely. Cheers!

We are originally from California and Oregon, and we spent most of the last 3 decades living and raising our family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nita & Marty made their permanent move to Costa Rica in 2016 and embarked on building their dream. The Encantada Guest House was completed in 2009 and has been a successful Vacation Rental since 2011. Our new Encantada Luxury Adults Only B&B project was just completed in 2020 and continues to receive rave 5 star reviews.

We first came to Costa Rica in 2003 as tourists and by the time we left a week later we were smitten. Nita was ready to take the plunge right then and there, Marty took a bit more convincing. We came back in 2005 for another look and by 2006, we had decided to make a giant leap into the unknown. We ended up purchasing a chunk of raw pasture land on a 6000 acre active cattle farm. No roads...no utilities...just awesome beauty and a whole lot of faith...Yeah...we were a lot younger then. Haha.
It was...Love at first sight! Quiet, rural, calm, private, tranquil and with views to die for! No roads...no utilities...no money and no plan, but we saw great possibilities for living out our future retirement in paradise. We took a leap of faith and never looked back. Yeah...we were a lot younger then. Haha. We began to build the guesthouse in 2009 and in 2011, we started renting it out as a vacation rental, in a brand new industry. It was a huge success and it allowed us to spend the next 9 years planning and working toward our goal of building our dream home and future B&B. Our dream came true....Yours can too!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The property is very private and tranquil. Close to everything we need.. but away from it all as well. The cool mountain breezes are a real blessing when the summer months are here. We love waking up to the birds and monkey's and the sounds of nature everyday.
