Farm House Inn - Quiet Country Elegance

Welcome to the Farm House Inn in New Ulm, Texas.

Don't let the name fool ya, this isn't just a typical farmhouse. The Farm House Inn is appointed with the livable elegance of French inspired furnishings and antiques.

As with all Shady Meadow Farm guest houses, the antique decor lends a warmth to the home while you enjoy the modern comforts of central air conditioning and ceiling fans as well as the convenience of having a full-sized washer and dryer. Enjoy the large Cook’s kitchen with an in-island stove, refrigerator and full stock of all amenities and cooking tools and supplies. Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival.

This lovely home offers a plethora of sleeping options and can easily accommodate a large group with 3 bedrooms (and one bathroom) upstairs and a first-floor luxurious master suite complete with en suite laundry.

You will thoroughly enjoy the "million dollar" view from the back porch where you can see rural pastures into perpetuity! While the quiet country elegance reigns inside, you will find yourself gravitating towards the relaxing back porch "room". Complete with rocking chairs and a wooden bench swing, you can sit back, take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the quiet view.

Farmhouse Beauty

Our stay (5 ladies) was perfect for our Round Top treasure hunting trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the well stocked house. Our host was very responsive and the home was beautifully decorated.

Perfect girl’s trip!

This house might be my favorite rental ever! Beautifully decorated, comfy beds with nice linens, plenty of room and the most scenic location! The view from the back porch is lovely, perfect to just sit and enjoy coffee in the morning. The host was so thoughtful to leave snacks and a bottle of wine to welcome us! She was also very quick to respond to messages, overall it was perfect for our girl’s trip to shop Round Top!

Perfect location

Excellent location for your stay. New Ulm is centrally located with short access to Roundtop, Belleville and Brenham. The house is gorgeous with wonderful views. The host is amazing and the house is warm and cozy! Large enough for a family and friends.

Girls weekend in Roundtop

Perfect rural retreat

Our second amazing stay in this beautifully restored farmhouse. High ceilings, rooms that flow, and a welcoming host make this the perfect retreat. Our girls trip included the Painted Churches in Schulenburg, shopping in Round Top, and wonderful breakfasts, dinners, and games in our home away from home. We love the small sitting area right off the kitchen for early morning coffee and chats. Plus the big back porch overlooking a pasture with rocking chairs to watch the sunset. You will love it!

Girls Trip

We throughly enjoyed our stay at The Farmhouse Inn. This is the second year we have stayed here. The house is perfect for us. Plenty of room for everyone. The back porch is awesome. Joy, the host, answered all of our questions immediately after receiving our text messages. We plan to return next year.

Adorable Accommodations

This adorable farmhouse exceeded our expectations. A visual treat inside and out. We enjoyed a quiet respite with coffee on the porch overlooking rolling green fields where a few cows willing posed for us. Then, only an easy 30 minute drive to the Antique shows we satisfied our antiquing urges. Our host provided a very enjoyable stay providing very comfortable accommodations to enjoy. Don’t pass this one up!

New Ulm House

Oh my goodness gracious! This gem was so perfect for our sisters weekend. This house was so perfect. All of the little touches including snacks, water, wine and even a little personal note was so appreciated. Super clean home and the host was a dream to work with. Our party stayed in all weekend due to the weather - it was great! We did get to sit on the back porch watching the cows and a large buck jump the fence - it was great. We will be booking here again!

Relaxing country home

This house is so well appointed with gorgeous antiques and the cutest furniture, plus special touches like snacks and a bottle of wine when you check in. We had the best time just sitting on the back porch enjoying the view. Will definitely come back if I am in the area.

Amazing house!

House was so nice in every way! Decorated beautifully, fully stocked updated kitchen and bathrooms! Owner was very responsive and helpful. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine and snacks. The view from the back porch was beautiful. The nicest neighbor came over and gave us some shopping tips and a little history about the area. The location is great if going to Round Top, LaGrange, Schulenburg etc. I hope to go back again.

Fantastic Restored Farmhouse - perfect girls Round Top getaway

What a lovely restored farmhouse! Our group consensus is that we would all love a home like this - minus the cost that had to have gone into the restoration! Beautifully decorated with antiques and/or vintage furniture, high ceilings, and thoughtful updates (kitchen & bathrooms) for modern comforts. We loved it! (About 20 minutes from Round Top shopping venues - we loved escaping here after a busy shopping day.) Host was responsive and warm - thank you!

We had an amazing time. Drive to Roundtop was very enjoyable, little to no traffic. Beautiful home.

We had an amazing stay at this home. Beautiful rooms and comfortable bedding. Well stocked kitchen and the treats and wine provided by our host were amazing and very much appreciated. Beautiful decor throughout the house. Very friendly neighbor across the street. Lovely community. We will try to return next year for another great experience.

Visiting family in Brenham

We needed space for 6 adults to stay while we attended a family wedding in Brenham. This had plenty of comfy places for people to sleep. There are also nooks upstairs and off the kitchen to sit and read a book. And there are plenty of books available on every table and nightstand. There are rocking chairs on the front and back porches too. This is a place is better in person than the photos. If you you are looking for a booming nightlife, Ulm is not that place. But if you are looking for a relaxing weekend in a well appointed home with a gret kitchen this is a great option.

Wonderful Girl's Trip

What a wonderful house! Everything described and the pictures are so accurate. Great location to get to Round Top, Brenham etc. Nice sitting on back porch and looking at scenery. Highly recommend!

Wedding stay

We selected this property due to short drive to The Vine wedding venue. It is a very neat house and the view from the back patio is fantastic. We'll stocked and comfortable older farm house with a lot of character.

Charming in New Ulm

We came to this lovely home for our annual trip to shop Round Top. The home was on a quiet street with all the amenities you would want to visit with friends and enjoy a sweet small town…with four nice sized bedrooms and several living areas we spent most of our time on the back porch!

Charming House

Such an easy check in/check out process! House was very charming w lots of antiques and southern charm. Very clean and even left us a welcoming bottle of wine w a sweet note. Would recommend this rental. We were there for Round Top furniture show and it was about a 25 min drive. Drive wasn't bad at all.
