The wooden slats by the kitchen cover air ducts, adding an interesting architectural feature. However, guests taller than 5'10" may need to duck in this area.

Upstairs Neighbors:
While your space is fully private and independent, there is a friendly family with teenage children and two large dogs living above. Like in any apartment, some noise will be heard from above. We honor quiet hours from 11 pm to 6 am.

Sleeping Arrangements:
The bed in the den is a fold-out with a thick, dense foam mattress that lays directly on the floor, providing a comfortable yet unique sleeping experience.

Enjoyed our stay

Spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood a short drive (or a long walk) from downtown Silver Spring. Also not far from the walking path in Sligo Creek Park--beautiful at this time of year (April).

This apartment was a great stay for our trip to the Chesapeake Bay. It was beautifully designed and had all the amenities one could ask for. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The spot has great food locations nearby and is a nice walk to the redline. I would highly recommend this spot and would definitely revisit!

Home away from home

Great location. Downtown Silver Spring is a hop and a skip away. Quite neighborhood. Place had a little bit of everything you need. Beautiful garden.

overall, ots a beautiful space. You have everything you need, which is what we needed. The only drawback was the floor above, The stomping would wake us up many times. I understand, it is a basemt, but just to keeping mind.The beds were comfy, They even have some spices and things, so dont go crazy at the market (which is 2 blocks away. )The host was a true angel as I hit some roadblocks in my stay process.Thanks,Zenith.

Great accommodations

The apartment is just as described on Vrbo. It served our needs very well. We were there for a six week working stay, combining trips to downtown DC and remote zoom sessions. There is plenty of shopping within walking distance, including two grocery stores, though the place is on a shady quiet residential street.

Lovely stay

Nice place, great amenities. I'm very tall, there are a few quirks and low areas in the flar but it did not bother me. Nice to have a full kitchen, TV, and washer / dryer. Parking is available on the street, but a permit is required (host can organise for you).

Great little apartment

Very nice location. It was very close to everything we needed. 10 min walk to the metro. It was the perfect location for my family to stay as we toured Washington DC. Owner was great on communication and very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area. Thank you, highly recommend to anyone looking to stay near the DC area.

Great for long or short term stays

The apartment is very well equipped. On street parking was always available and the urban center was a short walk away. Great quiet neighborhood. We didn’t need them but having a full sized washer and drier would make a longer stay easier. Great apartment but use the main walkway if you have any sort of mobility issues.

Great Stay

Everything was just as described! Everything you would possible need was already there and waiting. There were some reviews about the noise from upstairs but we never noticed anything except for a very minor footstep here or there. We experience more noise in a hotel room than what they produce from upstairs! Any communication with the owner was quick and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

Great Experience

My wife and I stayed at the property and found it to be just as is described in the description. The apartment was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions I had and was extremely accommodating. As is clearly described in the listing the family lives above and we heard them walking around occasionally, but by no means did it detract from the experience. The neighborhood was quaint and quiet and many shops and restaurants were within walking distance. I would stay here again if future travels brought me to the Silver Spring area.

rough start but got better

Property is well located and a good place for small group 2-3 max; check in not smooth as entry info not sent on time but after that manager was very good at responding. No sheets for second bed available; made do with what there was but odd that not already in the unit. With a few fixes would have given 5star. Shannon

Great rental in Silver Springs

This is a lovely rental near to Washington DC. Very comfortable in size, beautifully decorated, and very clean with lovely thick fluffy white towels. We are all under 6 feet tall, so the overhead heating ducts (which were cleverly covered) were not a problem for us. You do hear the family moving around above, but not much different than when living in an apartment. Must be able to navigate stairs, which we were able to do in spite of being in our 70's and traveling with our 50 year old mobility challenged daughter. Great communication with the host Zenith.

Nice location but too noisy

The location is amazing. When you find it. It’s not clearly marked outside in the dark.The property is nice, but the quiet hours are not honored. The final night before a 14 hour drive, I got less than 4 hours of sleep because the owners stomped around until 3 am. Earplugs, I guess?The foldout bed is not at all comfortable and the stairs leading down to the apartment are dangerous. I fell because the drain cover slipped when I stepped too close to it. I would not stay here again.

Great location but noisy

Stayed at this location for a month with a co-worker. We were pleased with the location and the apartment has everything you need for a stay (washer/dryer, kitchen appliances). Unfortunately, however, the house is quite old and you can hear absolutely EVERYTHING from the family upstairs (stomping kids, running up and down stairs, dogs, voices, guests). I spoke to the owner several times as this was very disturbing to our sleep and ability to study and relax at the apartment in the evenings. She unfortunately couldn’t do much about it due to the nature of the older home and the flooring. She did offer to let myself and my co-worker find alternate accommodations and only charge us for the time we had stayed thus far, but at that point it was the last week of our trip and there was nothing else suitable available. I booked this apartment well in advance of our trip and hadn’t read several of the more recent reviews about the noise from upstairs - I wish I had as we would have definitely preferred to stay elsewhere (again simply due to the noise, not the location of the apartment or interactions with the owner). I don’t like to leave an overall negative review and maybe this would work for some people for a short term stay but if you need peace and quiet during the evening hours and while you sleep this is not conducive to that.

Wonderful Place!

My husband and I were really impressed with this basement apartment. It was very quiet, clean and well furnished. The outside garden was beautiful, and the neighborhood was excellent. We were able to walk to stores in the downtown area. We would highly recommend this property!

The cleanest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in!

I loved staying in the apartment! It was exactly as described, and Zenith couldn’t have been nicer. Also, I have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and this was HANDS DOWN the cleanest one I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in (in the world). The only downside was the noise from upstairs. It is pretty clear, but didn’t bother me enough to effect my scoring of the stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Cozy, comfy spot with amazing backyard & neighbors upstairs

It's a really cool place, big open space, nice appliances and furniture, and great neighbors upstairs who tend to a beautiful garden and Bonzai tree family in the backyard. You hear the neighbors and the paws (but never barks) of their two super sweet pit bulls SLIGHTLY through the ceiling, but it's pretty minor and never early morning or late night. Zenith the host is super responsive and kind. Only slight downside is if you're very tall! I'm 6 feet and the wooden cover over the pipes that you can see in the photos required some ducking to get under. And of course it's a basement apartment so there's not much natural light though there are a few windows that let some in. I advise just going outside and taking a walk down the pretty back alley anytime you need some air. Would definitely consider staying again!

Fantastic place!

We absolutely loved the property! The kitchen is well stocked, had everything we needed. The location is great! We walked into Silver Springs which has a lot to offer. We were also able to walk to the Metro to get to DC. Very easy to get around. We would definitely visit again. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Great little spot!

My husband, my four year old and I stayed and it was perfect! Everything is super close! We walked to the metro every day and it is also within walking distance to grocery stores! Zenith is very receptive. Also, we never heard them above us at all!
