Captains Cottage

This is my home when it's not being rented out to guests.

It has two private bedrooms, one private bathroom and one shared full bathroom. My room will have some clothes in the closet/dresser but the guest room will not.

I try to leave a shelf in the fridge empty for my guests to use during their stay.

The condo is a 10 min. walk from the beach (intercostal side of A1A) and a 20 min. drive to all the attractions in St Augustine. Parking is free and available in the back.

I will provide check-in details a few days before you arrive.

Parking is located in the back of the condo building.

The house is in a quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood. For your added safety, security cameras are installed on the front and back porches.

Great spot

This condo is the perfect spot! Close to the beach and not far from historic St Augustine. Check in/check out was very easy. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Quaint and cute cottage

My family and I had a great stay. The location was a perfect spot between the beach and city. Parking was fine and his neighbors very friendly. I would recommend staying here.

Didn't Feel Comfortable

Although we were told that this was someone's home, there were too many reminders that we were IN someone else's home to feel comfortable staying there. There was one shelf in the refrigerator for us to use (the rest was the owner's food), there was a pair of shoes on the floor in the MBR, the back patio was loaded with lawn and other equipment, the kitchen shelves were filled with his items, etc. While none of this is necessarily bad, my wife and I felt like we were infringing on someone's home. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but left after one and spent $288 to stay at a hotel instead of staying here for the second night. It felt more like we were staying at a stranger's house than at a getaway place for the weekend. If you don't mind that, then you would be fine staying here, it just isn't for me. The owner, Joe, was responsive, but he quickly stated that we wouldn't be getting a refund for the second night even though I didn't ask for one.

Great Location

The location is perfect--easy to get to the beach and easy to go to downtown St. Augustine. Check in was very easy. Description and details were accurate.

Very nice little place

Very nice small house very great location close to almost everything you would like to do either fishing sitting at the beach or visiting wonderful Saint Augustine almost in the middle of everything would recommend this day to anyone

St. Augustine Trip

Place was nice and joe was very responsive and helpful. Only complaints is the location showed it on the other side of a major road which added a lot of additional walking to get to the beach. Check in time on listing was 2pm so we arrived at 2pm to a delayed 3pm check in. Additionally the owner stopped by on multiple occasions which I found unprofessional. Either way would recommend also note the master is not a full bath and he lives there so fridge space will be limited.

Quiet comfortable home

Butler Beach is amazing and super close by. This home was quiet and comfortable with comfortable beds. I am a sensitive sleeper and it was super quiet! We loved it and would stay again. Close to downtown St Augustine too and many great restaurants.

Another amazing stay at this home!

This was such a great house I stayed again for the second time! It’s clean, comfortable, all the amenities to make you feel right at home! Joe is super easy to communicate with, always responds! Will be back again in December!

Joe’s Place Offered a Good Stay

Our stay at Joe’s place was good. The neighbor in the 3 plex did make parking in back lot a little challenging but we managed. Was a great place for us four adults and our two dogs. Joe offered to assist with anything that would make our stay more enjoyable which was appreciated. Would have liked some closet or drawer space for our clothes in main bedroom but other than that all was good.

Peace and quiet

My best friend and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was just right! These beds are so comfortable! It was waking distance from anything we really needed. Check in and out was easy. We felt safe and it was an easy drive to the historic district. We could walk down to the beach quick too. I definitely recommend staying here!

Great home for our stop in St Augustine!

This was such a great experience, the property owner communicated very well with us, check in process super easy, the house was clean, It was exactly what we wanted for our stop over in Saint Augustine for a couple days we will definitely be back as we pass through again in April!

Quiet stay close to everything you could want in

I booked a weekend for my husbands birthday weekend. The condo was clean and cozy. We liked that we were able to rent to whole condo. The walk down to the beach was relaxing and beautiful. We spent most of our time down town so being close to everything was a big plus. The host was very helpful and professional. I’ve had some bad experiences with hosts before but Joe was awesome. The whole condo was decorated beautifully and he even left out some tourist pamphlets for us. If we find ourselves in town again I’d definitely book again.

Not a vacation rental!

This property is a home that is lived in, not a vacation property. The floors and bathrooms were dirty. There were personal items in the drawers and living areas of the house. The owner had a fridge and cupboards full of food and a box of food in the corner of the dining room. There were some dishes in the dishwasher. The soap in the bathroom was a used bar that was dirty. The owner never disclosed that this was his home even though we had a couple message conversations asking for more details.
