Grey Wolf Family Style Cottage on Wolf Lake Waterfront

Grey Wolf is a cozy updated vintage family style cottage on Big Wolf Lake in a quiet neighborhood. The waterfront is great for swimming, boating, and fishing. Wolf Lake is mostly used by anglers and rafters making their slow way around with only a few jet ski's. Use our dock, a boat launch is nearby.

At the end of the dock, water depth is about 6 ft and 1 ft at its foot. Bring the water toys and fishing poles! The shoreline has a rock seawall, so use the dock ladder to enter the lake for swimming. 3 Kayaks are available for a small rental fee.

Relax in our adirondacks, reach in a beverage cooler at your side and listen to the sounds of summer at the lake. Slow way down for a lakeside sunset, build a fire in the fire pit. Memories are yours to create with a marshmallow roast and a ghost story or 2.

Whether you are here for some lake life, the Hot Air Jubilee, horse riding or hiking at Waterloo State Park, in town for a U of M (or MSU) football game or event at MIS, you are close. Grey Wolf has fast Wi-Fi and everything you need to enjoy your stay.

*Lake dock is put out mid-May before Memorial Day weekend and taken up mid-September after labor day. If booking outside of this time frame, contact ahead to check for dock status.

**SPECIAL NOTE FOR SUMMER GUESTS: The Wolf Lake Ski Club has been given permission to use the Grey Wolf dock for their weekly practice sessions on Sunday evenings. WLSC practices from approx. 6pm to dark on Sunday and the team parks in the yard.  Take advantage by watching them practice their gravity defying moves! Guests booking around Labor Day may see a final show.

Great Memories and Fun

The house and location checked all the boxes for us. Plenty of space and what a veiw! Nice people to work with. The house, though older has many modern updates. The Host and owner both worked to make our stay a good one. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.

Fun family getaway

The home was very nice and the lake was great. It was pretty quiet on the water and kids had fun playing. The lake is sandy bottom and was firmer in the areas by the dock. The sunset views were spectacular!

Our group of friends LOVED our stay at the Wolf Lake cottage. The cottage must've been recently renovated because it is in great shape. AC is especially good. The lake is a fairly large resort lake with lots of boats of all kinds. We swam a couple of hours each day, floating and laughing like friends should. Many good places to eat, shop, etc. in the surrounding towns. Ample space in the cottage let us relax. Very close to I94. My one and only complaint is that I wish there had a clothesline for our suits and towels. There is washer and dryer. But no worries. Thanks for an awesome time!

The cottage is a lovely older cottage with a wrap-around porch and a sunset view. It was clean, well-stocked with all the kitchen supplies we needed. We used two of the available kayaks and had a wonderful time exploring the lake. As others have mentioned, the ski team was one of the highlights of the week. Barry, the coach, gave us a wonderful welcome and lovely insight into the community. Kelly responded quickly to any questions we had, and all of our needs were met. Noteworthy points: -Remember to bring your life vests-There is no washing machine, so bring enough clothes for your time away-There is no dishwasher, but plenty of towels and a drying rack. We look forward to staying again next year!

We loved the lake and location of this property was very convenient. House was clean and accommodated our family well. Optional pontoon rental on the property would have been a great addition.

Lovely cottage

Our group included 7 adults and one toddler. The cottage was immaculate, and check-in was easy. The lake is lovely, and pretty peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake, although we were the only ones we saw doing both of those things. Mostly, people were out on the lake in pontoon boats or on jet skis. Our hosts were very responsive about answering questions. It was a great place to stay!

Family get away with adult children

Kelly’s house was very warm and welcoming. She included a toiletries basket in each bedroom. The beds were comfortable. For a fee she included her 3 kayaks. The lake was knee to hip deep for a long distance and clear enough to see the bottom. It was great for playing water sports with the kids. It would also be great for younger kids since it’s so shallow. We would definitely return again.

Grey Wolf Cottage

The cottage worked out perfect for our trip. We had 5 adults, me, my husband and our 3 children. The lake was beautiful and we were able to rent a boat at the marina across the street. Loved sitting on the porch or around the firepit in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked and all the bedrooms had baskets with toiletries. We had a great stay!

Amazing

Amazing lakefront property. So many thoughtful touches - toiletry kits, beach towels, bug spray, Sunscreen - I could go on. Sandy beach, clean lake, good fishing. We rented a pontoon from butterfields which was so fun and close. Plenty of room on the property. Would visit again and again.

Rest and Relaxation

The house was very clean and had a nice beginning stock of things to get you started. The property manager was very nice and attentive. My husband and I got to have a relaxed and fun vacation with our adult children. We all really enjoyed this vacation home.
