Unfortunately our stay was disappointing at best. Although the house is well located and has had some updates, it is not well kept. During our stay there were some quite chilly days but the heating system in the bedrooms was not working; there was a thermostat detached from the wall sitting on a chest in one of the bedrooms. We tried to contact the owner but voicemail was full and no response from a text message. The plumbing fixtures in the master bath were a mess—the tub fixture leaked continuously and the fixtures on the lavs were loose. Some drains were clogged. There were only 5 matching wine glasses and a mixed variety of dining implements in the kitchen. NO to the “Marilyn Monroe” home.

Family Vacay for New Year’s

We were looking for a relaxing getaway for our family of four, which included two college age boys. This home gave us enough space so that each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom and the house and grounds, including the pool and hot tub were amazing. It was close enough to walk into downtown Palm Springs or Uber into town for New Year’s. We took lots of gorgeous hikes and went to the Palm Springs Museum and had some wonderful meals.

Totally relaxing

This is a beautiful house and the entire experience was perfect. Very clean. Wonderful pool. Lots of places to relax and enjoy the architecture. The communications with the host were quick and thorough.

Palm Springs Oasis

We had a girls trip with 6 women. Absolutely loved the house. It set the vibe for the whole trip. Very fun! And the agents were extremely responsive and helpful.

Girls Trip

Our group of 7 stayed at this gorgeous home for a long weekend and it was absolutely wonderful! The home is perfectly located in one of the nicest neighborhoods. We could easily Uber downtown for restaurants and entertainment. The house had everything we needed for the kitchen, bar, towels for the pool - everything! In addition to our group, this home would be perfect even for families looking to stay in Palm Springs. The room with twin beds was also stocked with toys and books! While we had a little trouble initially communicating via the Vrbo app with the property managers (only reason for 4 stars), over the phone and via text once we arrived it was very easy and they were very responsive and wonderful to work with! We wished we never had to leave and would return to this property anytime. Overall 5 stars!

Location and Views!

Awesome location and stunning views. Backyard space is great. A really wonderful layout of the home. Some fabrics and all rugs could use a re-fresh as they are worn (including sheets and duvets). Hector was great would absolutely rent again.

Perfect Girls Trip

We stayed at the Marilyn Monroe Estate for a 40th birthday girls weekend. The house is adorably decorated, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are dated/original but our group appreciated the retro vibes. It had everything we needed and the hosts were very kind and responsive. We made use of the many seating areas- cocktails and appetizers on the side patio with beautiful mountain views, wine around the fire pit, perfect lounging poolside and a beautiful dinner on the covered patio. We would definitely come back! Thank you, Hector!

Awesome Location

We stayed for the weekend on a girls trip with 5 of us. We all had our own beds which was nice. The neighborhood is so beautiful. The house itself is nice but could use a deep clean.

Perfect Vacation

We had the most perfect week+ long stay at the MM Estate. We love the location in Vista Las Palmas - close to downtown which is perfect for meals and walks. It's a beautiful neighbourhood. The house has everything you could possibly need - kitchen is fully stocked, plenty of towels and linens. For us, the best part was the kids room - it was also stocked with toys and books and crafts. My kids went bananas! There are lots of spaces to hang out both inside and out. We ate every meal outside and spent each night by the fire. When it got hot we hung under the covered patio. Now, because it is a famous house there are TONS of people coming by all day long. They bike, drive and walk by the house, stop and take pictures. Tours go by too. This didn't bother us at all but it was pretty constant. Hector was the most attentive host. He responded within minutes with answers to any questions we had. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Excellent Girls Getaway

Our group of seven women enjoyed this property immensely! It was in a gorgeous neighborhood. I recommend renting bikes to get to nearby shops, restaurants and trails. The pool and hot tub and outdoor seating areas are lovely. The furniture & decor is beautiful. We hope to return!

Dream location and tastefully decorated getaway!

When we travel we like homes that are well maintained, decorated professionally and managed by professionals. This home meets all criteria and then some. Mid-century oasis with a bit of history

The house is excellent. It has every amenity you could ever want, including a lovely backyard with great pool/spa and a perfect fire pit. We loved the outdoor dining area, which has the benefit of being both shaded and large. Inside, the beds are comfortable, plus the kitchen is remarkably well-appointed. You will find every appliance, kitchen tool, etc, you could ever want. The neighborhood is (in our opinion) the best in Palm Springs. Close to town but a world apart, surrounded by quintessential mid-century modern awesomeness. The mountains rise up behind. We enjoyed walking to breakfast each morning and hanging out in the spa/at the fire pit each night.

LOVED Our Stay at the Marilyn Monroe Estate!

From the first moment we pulled up to the Marilyn Monroe Estate and spied the pink mailbox and cool exterior to the morning five days later when we left, we had the most wonderful time in this little bit of mid-century heaven in Palm Springs. Loved the entry which led to double glass doors with crystal handles. The living and dining areas are open and bright from an expanse of sliding glass doors all around. A photo of Marilyn greeted us on a far wall, and the coolest 1950s group of pool-side revelers was another favorite photo. Four spacious bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms were perfect for our group — each room decorated with a mid-century feeling plus a little whimsy. Master bedroom especially amazing with a blue-tiled sunken bathtub that overlooked a little grotto and waterfall. But, I think what we liked most were all the different areas we could enjoy — morning coffee on the comfortable cushioned settees in the side yard off the kitchen. Cocktails around the wicker coffee table on the patio by the pool. Cozy chats around the fire pit. Lounging poolside or enjoying the jets in the jacuzzi. Or, watching tv on the big screen tv on long, low green couches splashed with colorful pillows. And, by the way, the tv is a piece of art that converts to a tv, and then back to art! Very cool. We LOVED our stay at the Marilyn Monroe Estate and you will too.

Perfect Palm Springs Getaway House

The Marilyn Monroe house was a perfect house for a weekend getaway with my family. It is located in the best part of town (Old Las Palmas) and has amazing views of the mountains. All around great time and amazing house with all the amenities you could want for a Palm Springs vacation. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Home

What an amazing home and incredible vacation! The house its more beautiful than the pics, the views are incredible, and the area is one of the best that i have stayed in Palm Springs. The house has a lot of history as well, its super close to downtown, and on top of all the Host Hector is amazing! Overall highly recommend and I could not have chosen a better home!
