Spacious Dog Friendly House in Oconto County

Welcome to our second home!!! Our 1500 sq foot house on small, quiet Moody Lake is equipped with everything you need to get away, no matter the season. The house is DOG friendly and if you stay, perhaps your pup will me make the Dog Wall of Fame. Fiber internet allows you work from here or stream on both TVs. The lake isn’t currently fishable due to a deep freeze in 2018 but makes for a nice sunset view from the adirondack chairs on the Brand New deck or from the fire pit. Free plentiful firewood provided. Brand new grill on the lower deck and sitting area for six. The Oconto County UTV/snowmobile trails start right across highway 32 and in winter you can cut right across the lake.

The Good Moody Getaway is located on the south end of the Chequamegon National Forest with convenient proximity to hiking, fishing, swimming, dining and other outdoor activities. We are located near the Oconto River, Chute Pond County Park, Quartz Hill Hiking Trail, Cathedral Pines, local ATV and snowmobiling trails, casinos, supper clubs and much more.

While staying at our cabin, take the paddleboat for a cruise around the lake or relax on the deck while you take in a northwoods sunset.

Apple TV and Roku, adult bikes, books, puzzles, board games, kid-friendly DVDs on site.

There is a Tesla charger for use but we must be notified upon booking to allow access.

Please note there is a doorbell camera on the front door that allows us to remotely see who goes in and out.

This was the most dog friendly place we've ever stayed. The kitchen had everything for cooking, plus as many spices as I have at home. The owners were great at communicating and suggesting places to eat and hike. Would love to stay here again!

Christmas getaway

We spend an amazing Christmas here. Very beautiful location and the cabin was very well equipped. The hosts were very responsive and offerred good selection of games, tea and hot chocolates. Our neigbour gave us some cookies for the road.

Perfect in every way!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your perfect cabin. It was so peaceful and so well appointed, had everything we needed and was so comfortable and relaxing. Doug was so communicative which we really appreciated. The attention to detail was obvious and the dogs felt welcome too! It was all wonderful and we thank you for sharing with us!

Brilliant Lake House Stay

We had a lovely time at Doug and Tracey's retreat. The house is kitted out with everything you need, has great outdoor space and was very comfortable. We did great hikes (recommended by the owners), swam in nearby Chute Pond and had good food from a couple of nearby bars. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

2 story Get away

Quaint, comfortable and spacious get away.... kids loved fishing, paddle boating and campfires. We hike some trails near by... Chute Pond is always great.

Very Comfortable

Very nice home, was clean & well stocked with kitchen cooking needs, towels, and blankets. My sister and I are both adults & we found plenty to do. There were yard games to play or we relaxed around a bonfire or sat on the deck or patio & enjoyed the view of the pond. Several places within an hour to visit and hike, also some places just about 10 mins away. Would recommend this peaceful home to anyone wanting to get away from the sress of life.

Lovely Lake Experience

Great oasis for humans & dogs alike!

Doug & Tracy have made such a comfortable venue for our family. Fun games, helpful kitchen tools, comfortable beds & bedding made the humans experience marvelous! Dog beds, treats, and toys made sure that our pups (Joey & Alamo) were comfortable and happy - super important when their routines were otherwise disrupted. The outdoor space is wonderful - we sat on the deck one night until it started to pour & then we sat under the deck and watched the storm. Close proximity to groceries, etc - and far enough away that we felt like we were sufficiently secluded. They were INCREDIBLY responsive when we had questions. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful

The house was great! Not just pet tolerant, but pet welcoming!! The king size bed was super comfortable. The kids loved the paddle boat. The binder with hiking information was very helpful! Nice to have Chute Pond close by for swimming. We were sorry to leave!

Swamp

Worst house on the lake i ever been too, you can't use the lake for anything its like a swamp. And the don't even mentioned it on their website. Had to pack up everyday to go swimming at a different lake, witch totally defeats the purpose of renting a place on the lake

Clean comfortable stay

The location is beautiful with a great view of the lake, the neighbors were quiet and friendly. There are plenty of blankets and pillows. We really appreciated the bottle of champagne left for us so thoughtful since we were visiting through the new year.

Good Moody Getaway!

Our hosts Doug and Tracy were very accommodating! The cabin is walk-in ready with everything you need to cook and entertain. We only used the master bedroom and the bed was cozy. Everything was extremely clean and though we don’t have a dog, this is a doggie paradise! Just as many accommodations for pups as for people! Very quite and beautiful spot with amazing sunsets. Lots of wildlife and the locals were super friendly. We highly recommended a visit!

Short Weekend Away

Just came up for a shirt weekend away with family. The host was great with communication and with helpful ideas of things to do in the area. We have two toddlers that loved the bunk beds. The kitchen was stocked with a ton of utensils and appliances which is so nice compared to other rentals we have stayed at. We took many trips around the lake with the boat. They had kid life jackets which was so helpful, since we forgot ours. Overall great weekend at a great location !

Tracy and Doug bought this home in 2020 as a way to get out of Milwaukee (and away from COVID). Now it is rented almost 100% of the time between May and September. In winter, if there is snow, it’s a great home base for Snomobiling and ice fishing local lakes. In summer we are minutes from fishing, swimming, casinos, bars and restaurants in Mountain, Townsend and Lakewood. We have two greyhounds who love to run zoomies around the house and hope that our guests and their pets enjoy the space.
