This updated cozy cottage is one block from Lake Michigan. Located only 5 minutes north of South Haven and 20 mins south of Saugatuck/Douglas.

At the Hygge Cottage you're a short walk from catching spectacular sunsets. Located on a quiet block the home offers a nice sized backyard for activities, grilling, and two patios for outdoor dining / morning coffee.

Located only a 2 minute drive from Cogdal Winery and Hawkshead Golf Course. When you are ready to visit the surrounding area, take Blue Star north and hit the farmers markets, galleries and downtown shops in Saugatuck/Douglas or head south to South Haven for amazing restaurants, boat rentals, and public parks and beaches.

Whether you are looking for lots of activities or a quiet peaceful getaway, The Hygge Lake Cottage offers the best of both worlds.

* One block away from Lake Michigan cliff. Due to erosion, there is no direct access ( stairs or tram) to the shoreline at the end of the block. We are short drive to lovely public beach access. The cliff provides great sunset / sunrise views.

Home is only 1 hour away from Notre Dame.

The home was very well-equipped (for ex, kitchen and bathroom) and the beds were comfortable. The blue and white color scheme was pleasant. We enjoyed heading down to the end of the road to watch the sun set on our first evening there - one of my friends who was there is a poet and she even wrote a poem about it! The proximity to both South Haven and Saugatuck was perfect for us. After our first day, we experienced some windy and rainy weather off and on, but the house was so cozy that we didn’t mind.

Quiet, comfortable and clean. Close to everything that you would want to do. Beaches, parks, wineries and shopping. I would recommend The Lodge for simple dining in South Haven.

This was the perfect place for a girls weekend. It was in a great location, very convenient to the downtown shops and restaurants as well as the beach. We loved to walk down to the end of the road to see the beautiful lake views. The little details were greatly appreciated…coffee, creamer, teas, hot chocolate, soaps, kitchen utensil options, and much more. I would highly recommend staying here!

This property was very well maintained, clean, comfortable, and well stocked with conveniences. The cottage was just charming, with blooming bushes out front, that my wife just loved. The kids loved the firepit, the backyard, and the wide screen TV. At the end of the road, one block away, we could view the sunset over the lake, and there were stairs down to swim. It was very conveniently located to great beaches: just a 10 minute drive from North Beach South Haven (25 minute bike ride I took three times in 4 days !), 15 minute drive from Saugatuck, 30 minute drive from Silver Beach. Would definately consider going back next year !

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Hygge Cottage. It was a very functional, comfortable, and clean. It was a bit farther out from South Haven than we usually stay, so we had to coordinate as a group to get into town via car, but the trade-off was that we didn't have to book an entire week's stay. The change in location and scenery was actually enjoyable and it allowed us to park our small speed boat in the driveway and launch it from the ramps. Our only concern about the place was the sticky shower door and the potential for it breaking if it were to be pulled fully closed -- probably something that could be easily fixed. It was nice to have a yard and outdoor space, ability to build a fire (although we didn't) and sit outside. The property has two outside decks.

Second stay in 2 years

We love this property. The house is very clean, location is peaceful & it’s within few minutes drive time to the beaches and shops. We could not open the shower door over the pan but the owner addressed this issue immediately. We would stay again.

MI Visit

My boys and I stayed two nights at the lake cottage. It was perfect for us. Located less than 10 minutes from the beaches, and from South Haven itself, we spent the days swimming and then went into town for meals. It was a great stop to relax and unwind on our way home. The cabin was great for us; plenty of space, very clean, short walk to the shoreline. Very highly recommended for location, quality of the property, and fantastic communication from and with the manager.

Great house, perfect location!

The house was the perfect size for our family of 4. Very clean and even cuter in person! Communications were clear and we had no issues whatsoever. The location is really great, it feels secluded but is so close to South Haven and an easy drive to spend time in Saugatuck. After a day at North Beach in South Haven it was just a quick drive back to the house to shower and change and head back to town for dinner (Three Blondes is a favorite). Close proximity to the house meant not having to rinse off sand and change clothes in the bathrooms at the beach - and that made everyone happy! Thanks for a great stay, we’ll definitely be back!

This property was clean, nicely decorated, spacious and on a quiet street. Its about a 10 min drive to downtown South Haven. It slept 4 adults and 2 children comfortably. Owner eesponded quickly when I messaged her with a question. Highly recommend.

Cutest Cottage

This is our third time staying at this cottage because it couldn’t be more perfect! All needs are accommodated for. We especially love the short walk to the beach and being just 8 minutes away from South Haven.

This property was adorable, i loved all the flowers, herbs and succulents. I stayed with 4 kids and two adults. We played games that were available in the house. We had a cozy little fire on our lastnight, and walked down to the cliff. This place was close to a bunch of shops and boat rentals. A couple grocery stores near by so we were able to cook. Would absolutely stay here again!

Cottage Getaway

Adorable and very clean little cottage provided ample indoor space for 3 adults. Open floor plan allowed us to engage and gather for breakfast. The bedrooms and bathroom are down a short hall for privacy. Kitchen is equipped for light cooking. Host thought ahead to provide items like coffee and tea, comfortable beds and plenty of towels to welcome us and make our stay pleasant. We did not have time to use the fire pit or outdoor decks this stay. Would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.

so relaxing

Quiet neighborhood within walking distance to lake views. No access to the actual lake shore due to recent landslides, but you can walk there and watch the sunset. Super clean and comfortable home, with easy access to all of the regional attractions. Everything in the home was great; very comfortable beds and pillows, fully functioning kitchen with all the basic food prep stuff like pots and pans, utensils, etc. My kids enjoyed the trundle beds, and we had fun with some of the games and puzzles. The only thing is that the light switches are a bit quirky. Some of them don't seem to control anything, and I couldn't figure out how to turn on the fan and overhead lights in the bathroom. The shower door doesn't close all the way, but we just put an extra towel on the floor and it was fine.
