Webster Cottage - 1 minute walk to beach!

Welcome to the Webster Cottage. This cozy cottage sits on a private cul-de-sac that gives you peaceful and quiet vibe but stands only one block from Newcome Beach. The main house features 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and includes a fourth bedroom detached from the house featuring a separate entrance, queen bed, twin daybed, A/C, and smart TV. This is a perfect set up for some wanting their own space.

VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS and recently updated with new furnishings throughout! Have your morning coffee on the front porch as you listen to the birds chirping in the secluded woods around you. The kids will love the wooden swing in the front yard and all will enjoy the weber grill and large outdoor dining table. We provide beach towels, chairs, and a pull-wagon for your trips to the beach. A new outdoor gas fire pit and plenty of seating allow for nights of chatting, sharing memories, and roasting s'mores.

A nice scenic walk or a really quick drive will get you to downtown South Haven, which is only about 1 mile away. This cute cozy cottage gives you the best of both worlds. Close enough to enjoy all of the wonderful things South Haven has to offer yet located in a quiet and peaceful spot that allows you to relax and unwind at the end of each day.

A nice vintage cottage with modern kitchen. Great outside area. Only suggestion is it isn't appropriate for people who are balance challenged & light sensitive.

EXCELLENT location! Unfortunately, the home had not been properly cleaned. The oven was dirty and smoked and showers had mold. When we turned down the beds and found the sheets had not been changed, we decided to drive home instead of staying the night. The owner was kind and prompt in reply, but we had not taken photos and the cleaning crew refuted our claims. Recommend check for cleanliness at check-in and call immediately, taking photos of any concerns.

Wedding weekend

This was our home away from home the weekend my son got married. The house was clean and being greeted when we got there was such a nice touch. We had to go buy pods to run the dishwasher but considering that is the only issue we had I would say it was a great weekend. Would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed

First overall impression was good. Property manager was very nice and accommodating. Every room in this house is on a different height level, including the kitchen. Not an easy house to move around in due to the sloping and in some places, soft and saggy floors along with the constant up and downs from room to room. The deck and steps out side are uneven and the steps need some kind of marking to be able to see them when stepping down. Could also use a handrail. The deck was not clean., nor was the master shower floor and stove. The drapes covering the windows and sliding glass door looked like old rags. They could use vertical blinds for the patio door and vertical blinds for the windows instead of the large gray rags. There is a lot of wood rot on the exterior as well. The tv in the masters bedroom only got one Chanel.. Handhold bars are needed throughout this house.

This house was perfect for our family. Gibby helped us when we were having difficulty turning on the bon fire. Overall, house was perfect and cozy!

Stay was great!

We had a great stay and house had every thing we needed. The owner was easily accessible when i had a question and quick to respond. We had a wonderful stay in South Haven and at the Webster cottage.

Good Stay with Caveats

First the positive. Cute older house with a lot of updates and super close access to the beach. Lots of amenities, beach toys etc. New appliances. Great decor, awesome front porch and cool fire pit area. Handy outdoor shower for sandy feet. Friendly property manager. Areas for improvement are all little things most people can manage through, but it’s worth noting for the price of this rental. Hallway bath is old and in need of TLC. Back bathroom is well done but shower needs a good cleaning. Also, less privacy in that bathroom due to a glass fireplace enclosure that you can see through from bedroom to bath. Must pass through one bedroom to get the one in the back, which we understood. But the barn door that separates them won’t stay shut without the use of an additional hook that locks out the guests in the next bedroom from access to the bathroom. If you want to sleep kids in that room and still give them access to your bathroom during the night, this might not work for you. The little out building in the back of the property with extra beds is pretty musty smelling. We didn’t use that space and fortunately didn’t need to. Lots of lighting in the house and lots of switches. It would be helpful if they were labeled.

Loved South Haven

We had a great time in the home. The location was great, the size was great. My boys (ages 5 and 1) loved being able to walk quickly to the beach, and it’s also just a five minute drive from the downtown area. The outside spaces were inviting, though the seating cushions need replaced and the weeds could be trimmed back. There was also some trash in the back by the playhouse. The outside shower was the best. The inside shower floor could be cleaner - and the bathmats were not fresh. The carpet in the bedrooms was icky. For people without kids on the floor and things like that, probably no issues whatsoever. Would recommend this place. Gibby, the property manager who met us there, was very nice. Very friendly.

Girls Trip

We stayed for a long weekend. The location was great! It is a short walk to the public bench and a short drive to downtown. The listing says beach chairs but they are pretty flimsy “bag” chairs- not beach chairs. They were not great for the beach. I would suggest bringing your own beach chairs. There is a wagon for walk to beach and that was very helpful and appreciated. Our check in was a bit weird as the house wasn’t ready (we arrived an hour after the check in time) People were there cleaning/working/hanging out in front yard for about an hour after we arrived. It was an odd start and I am guessing/hoping just a fluke. A quick text that the house wasn’t ready would have been greatly appreciated over the awkward arrival. Overall, the house was cute, clean and comfy… and most importantly close to the beach and downtime.

Nice visit for a wedding weekend

Stayed with a group of friends for a wedding in the area. Very close to a nice beach, clean house, awesome front patio and common space. Two of the bedrooms connect to each other (need to go through one to access the other, or use external doors), but easy enough to work with.
