RIVER FRONT Cabin on the Pedernales River & Texas Wine Road

Enjoy a relaxing stay in our newly renovated log cabin on the banks of the peaceful Pedernales River. Enjoy the swimming holes or put your feet in the bubbling rapids. The property offers plenty of room to spread out over 6 acres. Explore the river and keep your eyes open for wildlife. The deer come by at sunset to say hello. The cabin features a fully renovated kitchen and warm great room which is a great gathering place for family or a place to relax. This is wine country so make sure to open up a bottle of wine and sit on the patio while stargazing at night. When the sky is clear the stars are incredible. The town (5 minutes from the house) has some wonderful restaurants and often live music on the weekends as well as some great shopping spots. The cabin is 4 bedrooms and sleeps 9. The upstairs master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and a connected bathroom overlooks the property from large windows. Recharge in a brand new memory foam mattress at the end of the day. In this room there is also a comfortable futon that doubles as a Full bed. Another bedroom downstairs featuring original exposed beams includes a new memory foam bed mattress ready to welcome you after a long day at the river. Off the great room is a long room divided into two sleeping spaces. The first space features surround windows and a full mattress. The second space is our bunkbed area featuring two twin beds and one full bed. It's a great spot for the kids to wind down with a movie after a long day at the river. (Note: The full bedroom and bunk rooms are linked together but can be closed off by doors) The cabin is perfectly located at the start of the Texas Wine Road. World-class wineries are within a 5 minute drive with over 50 wineries to choose from. Some of our favorites are right in Johnson City! Make sure and hit up the popular Pedernales Falls State Park which is also close - only 20min away. Get your tickets early as these sell out. Fredericksburg, Enchanted Rock, Wimberley, and Blanco are all a quick 25 minute drive.

** On the property we have a small cottage that we rent out long term. This will not affect your stay as our renters are very quiet and keep to themselves.

**Please note that our house has a NO PET policy.

Amazing stay!

Property was better than the description. Deer visited all day, huge fire pit by the river and the house was fully stocked with everything you would need.

Hill Country Experience

The house was just what we were looking for to have a Hill Country getaway. The area is beautiful and proximity to the river is great. Our kids had a blast feeding the deer and exploring the river.

Great mini get away!

This rental house was very clean and well managed. The property is very detailed and has all the amenities you need. The owners were very quick to reply when I had a question and were super helpful. Our family truly enjoyed the time and memories made at the cabin house.

Great Vacation

We all had such a good time. The house was perfect for the 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room for all of us. House was clean and had everything we needed. The river was a short walk from the house and the kids had a great time playing in the river. Definitely a place we would like to visit again.

Do not hesitate! It‘s the right choice!

We had such a good time! The house was really amazing and easily fit all 7 of us. We loved the water access and beautiful is an absolute understatement for the whole area. We would definitely come back! 😊 The host was very nice and communication was very easy at all times. Can absolutely recommend!

River heaven

Our family absolutely loved the is house and property. We spent hours playing on the river “rock hopping.” It was truly Mother Nature’s playground. We also enjoyed the playground at the house and large yard where we played baseball. The house was well appointed and we enjoyed finishing the day with a movie each night, watching the deer that came out at dusk and looking at the stars. Perfect escape from the city! We also loved the exotic zoo and visiting our favorite wineries.

Great house by the river.

Great property with a short walk down to the Pedernales river. The river was perfect for lounging and chilling out in the water. There is a smooth sandstone river bed. The grandchildren enjoyed the play set and watching the deer eat corn that was left for us by the hosts. The house was clean and functional and we enjoyed the outdoor patio and gas grill too. We left an item and the hosts were kind enough to mail it back.

Even better than advertised

I took a chance and legit picked a place on the map that looked pretty. This property delivers on every level. The house was beautiful, spacious and more equipped than any other VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. The river was a hit with the kids as well as the adults. Crystal clear and cold! All of the animals came right up to us and almost wanted to hang out. Probably the best part was the view of the stars at night. Incredible. It was just what we needed to rest and relax.

Charming and Quiet

We immediately felt at home during our stay. VRBO was having some kind of malfunction and we could not communicate through the App. However, our hosts were able to see that we attempted to get into the property a bit early and allowed for an early check-in with that tiny bit of communication. While we waited, we enjoyed the outdoor space and each other’s company. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area. It was clean and cozy. Check it out if you are in the area and want to enjoy some solitude but like to be close to town.

This was a perfect stay! We had my Bachelorette party here! We were close to wineries, places to eat and just some relaxing on the property. We didn’t get to partake in the River fun due to the drought, but that was ok bc there were other things to keep the fun going! Great house, has everything you need and great check in process! Highly Recommend!

Outstanding experience

A1 property with amazing hosts! The house is beautiful and the river is stunning. We had a big group of 10. 4 adults and 6 young kids. It was perfect for us! Would love to come back some day. If you're considering this property and it meets your needs, just book it. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful cabin

We loved the cabin, true nature at its best tucked away in the countryside. We enjoyed the visiting deer and hanging out on the back patio at night.

Family Get Away

We enjoyed the property on a cold rainy weekend while enjoying some time away with our daughter and her family. The house was just right for visiting Johnson City and surrounding areas. The deer family almost will come in the house to greet you!

We are native Texans and a family of 5.5 counting our dog. We dreamed of a home we could escape to with our kids to make memories. We never anticipated finding something so rich in beauty as well as having so many options of things to do. This is a very special home for us. We love the outdoors, nature, star gazing, wildlife, fishing, kayaking, and floating in the river. We also enjoy visiting our local wineries and checking out new ones from time to time.

You will have a hard decision when you visit this property. Will you go to the river to spend your day or go to town and visit wineries.....You will often find live music at most places as well during the weekend days. We feel this property has two major high points aside from the house itself. The beautiful river and the 290 Wine Trail.
