Cottage by the beach, great family destination

Come and stay at our generational family cottage suitable for individuals or families who appreciate a more traditional cottage experience taking you back in time to relax and unwind.
Located in Huntsville overlooking majestic Mary Lake, the cottage features a small public beach at the end of the driveway with a gentle sandy walk out into the lake. Bring a canoe or kayak to enjoy the lake and river, or rent a boat or jet ski from the local marina and enjoy 40 miles of boating through 5 lakes. Go swimming at the beach which is not usually busy and is great for small children, or play some board games and cards with friends and family. Relax in the Muskoka chairs and just take in the beautiful scenery, the fall colors are absolutely gorgeous around the cottage. End the day cooking dinner on the supplied BBQ, and have a bonfire in the evening under the glorious stars (when permitted).

The cottage is approx 850 sq ft, on one acre in a quiet area, has two bedrooms, one queen, and two single over double bunks, and one bathroom. The kitchen contains a fridge, stove, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.

Conveniently located 10 mins to downtown Huntsville to enjoy all the great restaurants, shopping, festivals, and all the town has to offer. Also located close to Arrowhead Park, Algonquin Park, and Santa’s Village.

We loved our stay! The cottage was very homey. We enjoyed board games and fires in the evening and swims and exploring the area during the day. The cottage had all of the amenities we need and was very clean. The beach at the end of the driveway was clean and quiet. And the stargazing at night was phenomenal!!!

Private Oasis

Great location as it's close to town but very private at the end of the road. Chris was responsive and helpful. Had mostly everything we wanted in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable.

Amazing Cottage Getaway!

Great Cottage Place in a great quiet, neighborhood. If you are looking for a nice quiet cottage relaxing neighborhood with a private beach, this listing is perfect for you. Chris is a great host, that answers all your questions and provides great support, I would recommend booking this property!

Cozy cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The view of Mary Lake was gorgeous, within 2 minutes you were standing at the lakes edge. Chris was very welcoming, there were cute little touches at the cottage for guests as well as lots of games to play. I hope to return next year.

Great Base Camp

Chris was an excellent host. We used his place as a jumping off point for day trips into Algonquin and Arrowhead Park. The cottage had everything needed to make our stay easy and comfortable. A selection of classic 80's and 90's movies from under the TV were on regular rotation when the weather was not cooperative.

Relaxing week in a family cottage

We are a family of 5 and really enjoyed our stay at this lovely family cottage. You can see right away that it's a family owned cottage which is still used by that family! The decorations and little details add to the cozy charm of this cottage. Everything you might need is available - from the kitchen equipment, BBQ, extra blankets for the beds, heaters and A/C and a clean and spacious bathroom with hot water for the shower, outdoor furniture to enjoy the view of the lake - and there was plenty of firewood for the fire pit which saw quite some use in the evenings during our stay. We felt right at home and would love to come back!

Cozy Cottage

My family and friends enjoyed our stay at Chris’s family cottage. It was cozy and they provided plenty of games for us. The kitchen had everything we needed. The place was clean upon arrival, we had access to the firestove and the bbq which made for a wonderful stay. It wasn’t as warm as we would have liked but we managed to have a great time; we spent some time in town & learned about some history at “The Heritage Place.” The lake was a very short distance away & a nice view. Thanks to Chris & his family for an enjoyable stay at their cottage.

Nice and Quiet

Cottage was nice and quiet. Nice waterview from the front lawn. Within 20 to 30 minutes to beaches, trails and downtown Huntsville. Port Sydney Beach and Hutchenson Beach within 20 25 minutes. Santas Village within 45 minutes. Limberlost Forest and wildlife reserve with multiple trails to do. Chris has multiple games to play inside and out. Chris has multiple heaters and fans to be used if needed. Will be going back again, highly recommend.

Unforgettable family vacation

I booked a mini vacation at Chris’s cottage - 3 adults and 2 6 year old boys. I really wanted to give the kids a traditional cottage experience much like what I had as a child. The cottage did not disappoint! The host has added many small touches to the property that make it super family-friendly! There are many DVDs, kids games and toys, and great cottage decor - the kids fell in love with the mounted fish in the cottage! Mary lake is stunning, and the beach is less than a 1 minute walk from the driveway. We spent every evening around a campfire gazing at the beautiful night sky :) I wanted to get a bit of R&R and my early morning walks to the lake and up the road did not disappoint - I saw deer, fox, snakes, and may other birds and wildlife. I met a few of the friendly, cottagers who shared some of local lore such as dead man’s island - the kids delightedly told ghost stories each night about the island. This was an unforgettable family vacation. Chris was a very responsive, kind host, and we can’t wait to go back :)
