Aislada, fuera de la red, Dog-friendly Cabina en Pristine Lago

Esta cabaña rústica y acogedora tiene 250 pies de muelles privados en el prístino lago Six Mile, aproximadamente a 7 millas del océano. Perfecto para un retiro tranquilo lejos de las personas, el tráfico, la contaminación y el estrés de la vida digital moderna. Lugar aislado sin vecinos visibles, a 10 minutos del pueblo de Machias. Disfrute viendo los valles, remando en nuestra canoa, pescando y con una excelente natación libre de malezas.

Fuera de la red, cabina estacional (mayo - noviembre). No hay tuberías de interior, agua corriente o electricidad. Agua limpia para ducharse y lavar platos disponibles en el lago y barriles de lluvia (los huéspedes deben traer agua potable). Cocina bien equipada.

Debido a sus características simples y rústicas, la cabina es más atractiva para excursionistas, campistas y personas que aman la paz y la soledad del aire libre.

Desde mediados de junio hasta mediados de septiembre (nuestra temporada alta), alquilado por semana, con un día de cambio de sábado. Fuera de temporada, las fechas son flexibles con un mínimo de dos noches.

Los perros de cualquier tamaño o tipo son bienvenidos en la cabaña y tienen mucho espacio para deambular sin correa. Los perros que les gusta nadar realmente aman esta propiedad.

I looked at lots of pet-friendly places before I stumbled upon this wonderful spot! The location is so peaceful, it’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I’m definitely planning to book it again when I’m back in Maine, especially since my fur-baby is welcome!

Had a nice relaxing time with our kids and dogs! The stars at night were incredible and watching the sunset from the dock was beautiful! Only 11 minutes from machias where we got groceries, food, and went to small shops. Such a peaceful place to stay.

This cabin ahas all the modern comfort you will need to enjoy your time at the lake. Our granddaughters loved it as well as our 2 labs. Anne was exceptional at quickly answering all our questions. The improvements that were made I believe in 2023, they definitely spared no expense they were done right and looks to have taken thought as to the comfort as well as the general beauty of it and keeping with nature and not destroying any of it, right down to the beautiful large boulders made into steps. We appreciated all that went into the remodel, and how well the cabin was stocked. You won’t be disappointed if you choose this little Beauty on the lake.

This is a wonderful place to say whether in Summer or Winter. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. As we stayed in Winter the lake was frozen over and we felt like the only people in the world.

We loved the cabin, very clean and cozy, wood burning stove was great, it's location the fire pit and the canoe, the neighborhood was great for walking. Star gazing was amazing, Owner very responsive and knowledgeable about the surroundings. Would definitely enjoy returning to your cabin. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Peaceful Escape

Not only is the cabin gorgeous but the location and the property could not be better for a quiet escape in the woods. The pups loved swimming in the lake. The star viewing is also unmatched. The whole experience is perfect.

This house lives up to its billing and reviews.  The isolation- even from neighbors- was wonderful, and the cabin quite comfortable.  Everything was nice and new.  We were impressed with the size of the kitchen, and were able to cook some elaborate meals.  The one night we didn't have cloud cover the sky was mind-blowing.  Even though the house is 500 road miles from our home, it's likely we'll come back.

Anne is originally from Manchester, Maine, and Nathan is originally from Northern Michigan. Anne taught English as a Second Language at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 18 years after spending 3 years teaching English in Japan. Since 2016 she has worked for the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati as Executive Director. Nathan is a professional actor (stage, film, television, and radio) and carpenter. They live in Cincinnati with Sunnie, a Bernese Mountain Dog born in November 2023. They spend several weeks at their cabin each year and enjoy sharing it with like-minded people who appreciate Maine's beautiful and remote landscapes.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The North Coast region of Maine is often overlooked because it is remote and not as developed as other coastal areas to the south. We consider the area's remoteness a plus. There is very little traffic, noise, air or light pollution, and yet the region still offers everything one really needs in terms of supplies and essential services. Our end of the lake is quiet and relatively undeveloped. The use of powerboats on the lake is restricted, so it's very good for canoeing and kayaking. The fishing can be good in the spring and early summer.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The cabin is very private and is located at the north end of Six Mile Lake in the town of Marshfield, Maine, approximately 10 minutes from Machias (pop. 2,500). When you're there, you will see very few people outside of occasional kayakers. It's quiet and clean, completely free of air and light pollution. The star gazing is excellent.

There is excellent hiking along wooded, coastal trails approximately 30 minutes north of the cabin. This area is known as the "Bold Coast." It's relatively undeveloped and uncrowded, even in peak summer months. You can download a free map from a local non-profit organization (see address below).
