You’ll be surrounded by stunning scenery & endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Our spacious one-bedroom rental features a king bed & a full-sized pullout, making it the perfect size for a romantic getaway or a small family vacation. The full kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook up delicious meals, & the covered porch provides the perfect spot for enjoying breakfast with a view. Step outside & follow the path to the lake, where you’ll have access to your own private dock for boating & swimming. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit for s’mores and stargazing while watching the twinkling glow of the fireflies. Located 4 miles from I-57 & I-24. Comfortable for up to 4 people.

We could not have been more pleased with this cabin and property!It was even better than the description as there were lovely trails to walk, that were a nice surprise.Ken and Denise were excellent hosts and detailed touches were everywhere in the cabin.Highly recommend this peaceful place.

This place exceeded our expectations in every way! It was absolutely perfect—peaceful, relaxing, and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin was much more spacious than the photos suggested, and it was exceptionally clean and well cared for. We loved that the lake was just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.The hosts were wonderful, made sure we had everything we needed and truly made us feel welcome. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

This cozy cabin was perfect for our little getaway of 3 adults. It was very comfortable & well stocked in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The lake & boat dock area were nice and might be a bit of a hike for some. The cabin is centrally located to all parts of Shawnee National Forest attractions. Highly recommend!

We wanted to visit this area of IL for our 36th anniversary. The cottage is in such a beautiful location, very scenic views that we loved waking up to in the mornings. Everything was clean and cozy and comfortable, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for such a spot. It was a very nice place to come back to after a day at Giant City State Park, and finding various area restaurants with great BBQ.

Our hosts communicated with us before our visit and provided great information and reviews about area activities and restaurants in the cabin when we arrived. The cabin was nicely decorated, clean, and included everything we needed in the kitchen. The porch provided a peaceful place to sit and watch the wildlife and sunsets. We look forward to returning again!

This property is located close to plenty of antique shops and two beautiful state parks as well, yet secluded from any traffic after a day of adventuring. A super clean and comfortable place with modern amenities and charmingly decorated. While relaxing on the front porch, we saw deer, turkey, bluebirds, and even a fox. It was a great place to wind down for a few days. Denise made sure we had everything we needed.
Breakfast spot perfect for wildlife and bluebird viewing on the front porch.
Open field beyond fence where deer gather in the mornings and evenings.
Living room with two recliners, sleeper sofa, cozy fireplace, and ROKU-equipped tv.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. Check-in, communication with the hosts, the cleanliness of the place, everything. There is quick access to the lake, to a state park, and to highways, and the place is surrounded by acres of woods and fields.
