Escape to our cozy 2-bedroom cabin nestled in the heart of Cotopaxi. Enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors while indulging in modern comforts. The Arkansas River is just a short 15-minute drive. Spend your days relaxing by the wood stove while catching up on your favorite shows on the smart TV.
The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to whip up delicious meals, including a stove, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Gather around the dining table or step outside to the outdoor furniture and grill. When it's time to unwind, take advantage of the games, DVD player, and video library. The cabin also offers essentials like towels, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, and hair dryer. There's plenty of parking in the garage and spacious driveway. We stayed 3 nights over Thanksgiving weekend. The cabin is warm and welcoming, and the property is beautiful with great rocks and views. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make your own meals. Our dog loved running around and sniffing out animal tracks. We visited Bishop’s Castle and The Great Sand Dunes and the weather was sunny and in the 50’s so it was nice for driving to longer adventures. Highly recommend any time of year, but if it snows you will need 4WD for sure!

Me and my puppy had a blast! We chose this spot because I wanted my dog to be able to run around off leash and explore, and that's what we did every single day. I was working remotely and the wifi was perfect for that, and every morning, evening, and during my lunch break my puppy got to go romp in the woods. We ran into a moose! And found some bear poop. So I was a little nervous actually lol, thankfully my dog doesn't get too far away from me and has pretty good recall.

My husband and I had a great time. The house is secluded but close enough to Salida to get the essentials when needed. Zoe was very quick with responses to any questions we had. The home was clean and very cute. We would stay again!

Everything went great, a beautiful picturesque place, just keep in mind that the nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away :) And the access road is a bit long, unpaved, but you can't find a better place for privacy, the house has all the amenities and the internet works well.

Mountain Getaway

Amazing and gorgeous property north of Cotopaxi. The night sky pops without all the light pollution of a city. The property better than it is listed. And most importantly, my dog love the enclosed dog run. We will be back again.

Mountain cabin

This cabin was very nice on the inside but the outside could use some attention. Still a nice getaway. The drive to Salida with construction took about 45 minuets so plan to bring food.

Third Time's a Charm

This has been our go-to place the last three summers before school starts. Clean, spacious, quiet, and a well-stocked kitchen. Plus our doggo loves it. A great homebase for hiking in the Wet Mountains or in your own backyard; and the Arkansas River's at the bottom of the mountain, for fishing, rafting, or just dipping your feet. We go to just sit, read, stargaze, relax, and watch the dog chase insect wildlife. The perfect place . . . maybe.

Cozy Cabin

We loved the cabin. It is up in the mountains and very relaxing. Hiking on the property was even better than expected with many large boulder formations. The cabin was very clean and probably the best stocked VRBO we have been to

Peaceful Mountain Retreat

This is a comfortable home in an exquisite location. Each morning we awoke to birds singing, each afternoon the breeze blew through the pine boughs, and each evening we watched the stars. This is a wonderful place that is out of the way, quiet, yet offers quick access to Salida, the star town of the area.

I came to Colorado over 20 years ago after spending most of my life in upstate NY. Colorado winters are quite mild in comparison!

We enjoy spending quality time together as a family from game nights, our kids' sports, to visiting with family and friends. We have 3 kids with two in high school, and one in middle school. In addition to having 3 children, we have two dogs (both rescues.) We have been fostering dogs for almost 6 years and have rescued 25 and counting!

The picture is from us rafting on the Arkansas River. It's so much fun!!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Things can get a bit hectic and we have wanted to have a little slice of Colorado in the mountains for a few years now. A place to relax and enjoy. We wanted to have a cabin in the mountains that is far enough away from the city to enjoy the stars without light pollution, to have mature trees to look at and walk amongst, and close enough for family activities. We found all that and more in Cotopaxi!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The peace and quiet and not feeling rushed to do anything while at the cabin. You really are on mountain time and we always feel like we get to "reset" whenever we're there.
