We enjoyed our stay at this house. Tori was great to work with - very responsive and flexible. House was as advertised - great location! Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were all updated. Deck connected to great room was amazing! Beachfront deck was also a favorite spot. Thank you!

Rented 2014 Thanksgiving week. Introductory line, “This large & lovely completely remodeled oceanfront Stinson Beach house…” is simply misleading. The house is not oceanfront. The house is set back at a minimum behind an additional fronting undeveloped lot. So you may be surprised, as we were, when the neighbors drive into what you think is the “backyard” of the home you are renting, and park their car. On our arrival evening, we discovered stains all over the sheets, some inches long, along with hair. We discovered many of the sheets in the linen closet were also stained with yellow spots – I'm not talking about ink stains here. They were entirely unacceptable. This was a major turn off. The upstairs bedroom pictured in image 7, top row, has large gouges in the wall, scrapes up and down and filthy stained carpets. There was significant damage on the wall to the left of the headboard and large scratches along the north west and south walls. The upstairs bathroom has no curtain or blind so you shower or use the toilet like in a fishbowl. During our entire stay the stench of human sewage, presumably from a failing septic tank, wafted up from the drains in the shower and sinks, the bedrooms downstairs, and overwhelmed us as we walked up the front steps to the house. The bathroom rug was filthy and appeared not to have been washed in months. We had to wash the rug, the sheets, and the towels, as none were reliably clean. Next-door neighbor’s two dogs, left alone, barked incessantly, for hours. The front door handle literally came off in our hand. The flimsy shower curtain rod in the downstairs bathroom fell to the floor. The damage and dirt throughout the house left us dismayed. Dirty hand prints on the paint, severely damaged door jams and molding, paint chipped, wood damaged, leak stains on windowsills, cracks, gouges and scratches. Window screens and base boards caked with filth. All documented in over 25 pictures. Although we were blessed with exceptional whether during our stay, and long walks on the beach were our refuge, the foul stench of sewage within the house and all around the front stair case outside, and the filth and extensive damage inside left us thinking a more appropriate name for this rental would be Funky & Filthy.

We were in contact by email during their stay(wifi passwords & no burn day info), unfortunately the guest did not alert us that there were any problems, making it impossible for us to address them. The first we heard about their dissatisfaction was in an email several days AFTER they had returned home. We were shocked and dismayed, this is definitely not the experience we strive to provide. We have a local manager who would have immediately dealt with any problems if he had been contacted by the guest. The day after receiving their email, the septic issue was promptly fixed, our local manager went through every sheet, towel and bath mat in the house and found no problems. We refunded the cleaning fee. Joe K's final email said "we propose that you refund half the rental fees paid to you." We refused, thus the review. Please take a look at all of our other reviews to get a more accurate and less vindictive picture of our home.

Standout features were the large living room with lots of comfortable seating and nice deck. The kitchen was spacious. When we needed measuring cups and a few other items, they were purchased and delivered.

absolutely perfect

we have stayed in Stinson a million times over the years, but never at this home. i have to say, it was perfect in every single way. the location, the house itself, the extras like tons of board games and a super well stoked kitchen, the deck out on the beach, the fire pit halfway between the home and the beach. it was far beyond what i imagined it to be from the listing. both the owner and the property manager were quick to respond and lovely to work with.

Perfect Home

We enjoyed this property immensely. The “great room” is wonderful for social gatherings as well as quiet contemplation while watching and listening to the ocean. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is top quality. Our dogs enjoyed the environment as well. The weather cooperated with lots of sunshine. What more could anyone want!

Lovely and ideally situated beach front home

7 Joaquin Patio is a perfect venue for a coastal getaway. The beach front setting is awesome, with stunning views of the ocean as well as an informal garden teeming with hummingbirds and butterflies! The house is steps from the beach and just a short walk to town. The cozy, well appointed living area is perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends. There's plenty of comfortable seating for visiting, lounging, dining or simply enjoying the view!

the best of Stinson

This is a super cool 1920s property that has a spiral staircase going down to the backyard and then the path to the beach - right from your backyard! The living room opens up with these huge barn-size doors so you just hear the surf all day long and feel the sea breeze and watch the every-changing colors of the sea. It is so peaceful. The pillows and duvets were luxuriously comfortable - to the point where you just want to stay curled up in bed...except that the beach awaits. The kitchen is large with a brand new huge oven (several turkeys can fit in there if you're thinking Thanksgiving!). The fireplace in the living room heats up the house very fast on cool foggy mornings (but there's also central heat). And there is this crazy bush in the yard that had literally 50 butterflies swooping in and out. I think there's a bit of magic in this house. :--) We had the best time.

Fabulous property!

I have rented perhaps ten different homes at Stinson Beach and this property is the most well-managed and beautiful. I liked the decor especially: so artistic and interesting. The place felt like home rather than a rental. We all loved being able to see and hear the ocean. A find for sure that I would highly recommend.

Great place, close to the beach

If you love trails, or love being close to the beach, you'll really enjoy this house. It's just a few steps from the beach, and a 15-minute walk from some of the best trails in the country. Really appreciated the dog-friendly aspect as well.

Family vacation

The location is right on the ocean with an awesome deck on the dunes. The house is very comfortable and suitable for all ages. The children loved playing on the beach and at night watching movies in the media room. We enjoyed the sunsets from the balconies. In town we ate at the Siren Cafe and Parkside Cafe both are terrific.

Beachfront Paradise!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The ocean view from the upstairs deck is amazing. We fell asleep every night to the sounds of crashing waves, and had the beach at our fingertips during the day. The house had all the amenities we needed – you don’t ever have to leave! There’s also several bedrooms/beds so we invited a few friends up to stay and enjoyed playing games by the fire pit. It was beyond anything we could have asked for. Thank you for creating such a relaxing stay and sharing your dreamy home with our family!

Perfect Location and great for Dogs

Could not ask for a better location than this. Great backyard for our dog, direct beach access. House itself was wonderful, great views lots of space. Stinson is a quaint little town and short drive to Bolinas and other towns in Marin.

We are a family of four plus two dogs. Our daughters love to boogie board, body surf, collect shells and fly kites. Of course there are the soft serve ice cream cones at Parkside too! We love the true vacation feeling only 30 minutes from home.

For our family, Stinson Beach is the perfect getaway! 30 minutes away from home it feels like you are a million miles away. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves, watching the sunset, counting sea lions and pelicans, boogie boarding and enjoying a walk on the beach all make our vacation time fantastic! Stinson Beach has a great bookstore, the market(which has practically everything!) great restaurants and of course soft ice cream cones.....

Our home offers a unique setting. The charm of a home built in 1949 combined with updated baths and kitchen. We have gorgeous ocean and mountain views with a lush private garden which is warm and tranquil. There is nothing between our home and the beach except our garden and the dunes. Enjoy cocktails on the dune deck, run down to the beach for some swimming and boogie-boarding, read a book in the garden then retreat to the house where you can warm up in front of the fire in the great room and enjoy white water views until the sun goes down!
