You'll love staying in the updated, and full of character, South Farm property. The 140-year old home sits on 2 acres that borders nearly 300 acres of the south tract of Wau-Ke-Na William Erby Smith Preserve, and is minutes to nearby beaches including the 1200-ft, dog-friendly beach at the north tract of Wau-Ke-Na William Erby Smith Preserve (just two miles north to the parking lot, then a short nature trail walk). The south preserve offers hiking/nature trails, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and birdwatching. South Farm is minutes from the crossroads of Glenn, MI, nearby farm stands and breweries, and is only 15 minutes from the large beaches and attractions in South Haven and Saugatuck (Douglas and Fennville too!). The property comes with all the comforts of home, a spacious outdoor patio, fire pit, grille, Level 2 EV charger, yard games, beach wagon and supplies - you'll enjoy relaxing all day long. The kids will love the bunk beds and separate upstairs bonus room, equipped with a 50-inch TV ready for streaming and gaming (bring your own system). We love our place and know you will too.

This farmhouse was more than we expected. The pictures on the website are accurate and very welcoming. The home was well equipped for all. There was even a pantry of extras from previous families. When a problem did arise it was quickly acknowledged and taken care of. We were a party of older women but it was full of entertainment for children as well. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking to be in a peaceful setting and yet very close to all that Michigan has to offer. Host and hostess very thoughtful. Thank you!!!

The exterior of the property was inviting. The patio is very comfortable and has a nice view of the surrounding area. The house is very cozy and clean. The kitchen items were easy to find and we had everything we needed.The bedrooms are roomy and we were very comfortable.The house rules were clear and not overly restrictive. The guest information book was clear and helpful.We truly enjoyed the property and had a good weekend.

Our family had a wonderful time at South Farm! The home had everything we needed and the property was very peaceful. Great location with easy drives to beaches, wineries, and more. Rebecca and Zach were very responsive and excellent hosts. We would love to visit again in the future!

Very quiet and secluded location. A lot of room for the dogs to roam. At night you felt like the whole area was just for you and your group. Wild life right in the yard. A very short drive to the dog friendly beach. This beach was also quiet, and clean! Again, felt like it was there just for us. We were at other beaches that were packed in the same area, so we just kept going back to this one, even without the dogs. Also about equidistant to either South Haven and Saugatuck and only about 15 minutes to each. Don’t sleep on Douglas. That town made for a nice break from the crowds, even though it’s on a much smaller scale than the other two cities. All in all, a very nice house, great hosts and a really good location. It was a great week!

We had a great time while staying here. The house was lovely, nicely decorated and very clean. The large kitchen was great to do our family meals and it was well stocked. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. We also enjoyed the surrounding property. We took advantage of the fire pit and enjoyed the tree swing. It was fun to watch the wildlife in the preserve behind the house. It was easy to check in and check out. We also loved that it was close to lots of things to do in Saugatuck and South Haven.

We had an amazing stay at the farmhouse! The place is perfectly set up for a family vacation and the outdoor amenities (fire pit, seating area, grill, swing) were all the highlight of our stay. We especially appreciated the use of towels, tent and beach chairs for our many visits to the local beaches.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time! The farmhouse was perfect and the space for the young grandchildren to play was just what we needed. We plan on returning next year! The hosts were very helpful and quick to respond.

Summer Vacation!

We really enjoyed everything about South Farm. The spacious kitchen to be able to cook breakfast and the occasional dinner, the outdoor patio, the fire pit, and the location was perfect for walks with the kids and the dogs. We were right in between South Haven and Saugatuck and really didn’t spend more than 20min in the car to get anywhere we were going. Would highly recommend!

Best vacation ever!

South Farm is outstanding!! Clean, comfortable, well stocked, and an amazing location surrounded by wildlife! I could not have asked for a better experience. Zach was super helpful when there was one small issue, and it was resolved quickly. Communication and instructions were clear and easy, and the house is very well thought out. I hope to go back again soon!

I love South Farm

As much as I'd like to keep knowledge of this gem to myself, I have to say that my family and I have had WONDERFUL experiences with this property and its responsive owners Zach and Rebecca. I could write a book about the many details that made the trips to South Farm so special, from the deer peeking out of the grass at us while we drank our morning coffee on the patio, to the bees buzzing around the lavender while we sat in the same spot. The house and property are not only very well maintained, there were no surprises. We could make ourselves at home there and not have to ration towels or think about a quirky appliance that didn't work right. Thanks so much Zach and Rebecca! We truly hope to visit again soon.

Super cute farm house

If youre going to the South Haven/ Sagautuck area with a decent sized group this house is a great fit. Its so cute and in amazing condition. It's out of the way of the bigger cities, which are only like a 15 minute drive away) so its nice and quiet. The hosts were crazy responsive and we'll definitely be booking again if we ever go back!

Home away from home

South Farm is a beautiful historic house and property. It is comfortable and well maintained and decorated. It is the perfect please for our family vacation. For us, that means grandparents, parents, and kiddos. The dog friendly beach is nearby as our hiking trails. The whole area has unique restaurants and other points of interest. We cooked at the house and sat around the campfire in the evenings. It was so wonderful. We highly recommend this place.

Wonderful!

We had a great time at South Farm! Everything we could possibly need was provided, the antique charm mingled with the modern conveniences and finishes were exceptional, and the quiet country lane to walk down and view Lake Michigan was a special bonus. This home is lovely, is as you would expect from the pictures, and exceeds expectation. So much to enjoy in the area as well. We would love to come back again!

A wonderful repeat stay

We had family members coming from various out of state and in state locations for our spring celebration. The hosts provided us a solid venue for this occasion. Their communication, instructions, and expectations were all very clear and responses to our questions timely. For us we also had the benefit of mild sunny weather. ( Michigan in the springtime you never get a guarantee) It was also very entertaining to watch the deer and wild turkeys frolicking while sipping morning coffee. Overall our family members all report the experience as “exceeding expectations”. Ease of which to gather at this location made easy by the hosts.

Perfect Fall getaway

This was our second stay at South Farm. Just as lovely for the family as the last visit. Cozy living room where everyone could hang out and play games. Big kitchen and dining area. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Lots to do in the area — and the nearly empty beaches are beautiful for walking even on chilly Fall days. Love this place — we will be back.

Farmhouse stay

This older farmhouse sits on an incredible piece of property, heavily treed with a plentiful and species variety of large, mature trees. We saw our share of deer, wild turkeys, chipmunks and lightning-fast red squirrels. We also enjoyed using the direct access trail to the nature preserve. It was a fun experience. Thank you.

Fantastic family trip

This was a first outting with three families and their babies! What a fun experience. We loved the farmhouse cottage feel and being in nature. Zach was super accommodating when we were trying to checkout with four toddlers, it got a little crazy. I'm glad I called him and he made me feel less stressed about trying to tie up loose ends on check out process. Thanks again guys such a fun family trip and memories!
