9,700 sq ft custom executive home on 5 acres in gated community. No last-minute reservations will be considered...owner requires a minimum 5 day notice before approved arrivals. 3 night minimum. Maximum 14 nights rented each year, no exceptions.
House is full of contemporary art and has 5 large King ensuite bedrooms (each has a large smart TV), Theater with 130" screen and surround sound , exercise room, pool room, large living areas, gourmet kitchen, with heated salt-water pool and hot tub (pool normally covered from Nov-April each year) - all on a beautiful wooded lot in the gated community. Plenty of comfortable furniture and a children's sleeping room.
Great outdoor living - Large covered upper deck with artificial grass covering, skylights, fans, seating for 14, including a dining table, fire pit, swivel-rockers, large umbrellas and stairs down to the covered patio and pool level. Huge walk-out basement with 60' patio, outdoor grill, beautiful salt-water pool and hot tub.
A truly magnificient house with high custom ceilings and high-end details. Many works of art throughout.
Owner requires renters to submit extention of liability insurance not less than $500,000.

Bourbon Trail House

Absolutely fantastic house and great host. If you are traveling to Kentucky for the Bourbon Trail, this house is a great place to stay. Awesome, gated, quiet community great for any kind of function. 5/5!!!

The house was beautiful. The neighborhood was great! Clean, classy and not far from downtown, sites, and attractions. If I am ever in the Louisville area I'd certainly stay here again.

Perfect Place

My group of peers and I (6 of us total), rented this house from Jim. The house was beautiful, spacious, and had all the amenities to make it feel like home. We spent a lot of time on the rear deck for our group meetings and the lake scene really was picturesque. I took regular jogs around to observe the quiet and friendly neighborhood.

Lovely family get away

Lovely home with comfortable bedrooms for a large group. Very clean. Nice that it was a fully equiped home with everything at our disposal. Plenty of space for our family to gather, sunroom, living room, deck and the beautiful back yard over looking the pond. Our youngest granddaughter loved the swing and our grandsons enjoyed fishing. Of course, the adults were content to sit by the water and visit.

Wonderful Home

My family and I stayed at Greystone for a long weekend in June. We found the house to be even more spacious than the photos reflected. We especially enjoyed the air-conditioned sunroom as well as the deck areas which both overlooked the lovely yard and pond. We found the house to be very tastefully decorated with various themes throughout. The owners were very responsive to our questions before our arrival and during our stay. They even provided detailed suggestions about area attractions which we found to be very helpful and informative. We would recommend this beautiful home for anyone looking for a spacious, relaxing family gathering.

You don’t have to leave the house....

All we can say is WOW!!! 4 generation in the house with two little ones. Something for everyone. Sports, sauna, movies, games, books, bedrooms, bathrooms. Book now. Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy. Owner is so easy to work with. Can not disappoint.

Wonderful House for a Retreat / Reunion

Our group of 12 college friends came together here for a weekend and had a very enjoyable experience. The house is very large and spacious and is well suited for large groups or get togethers looking for a 'retreat'. Plenty of social rooms to hang out in and plenty of sound isolation if light sleepers want to use the bedrooms while others are active. Very beautiful backyard, perfect for lawn games, and a great screened in patio and outdoor deck that we spent most of our time on. Excellent game room downstairs. I think Jim's pictures and details describing the website capture the house very accurately and should give other prospective renters a very clear depiction of what they're getting. Property was very clean and well maintained. Jim was very helpful with suggesting restaurants and things to do in the area.

Excellent Derby Rental

My friends and I had a great time in Louisville at the Greystone property. We came for Derby, and wanted a central location for everyone to stay while there. The house was as advertised and looked even better in person than in pictures. The owner was very responsive during the booking stages and while we were there. I would highly recommend this property for Derby weekend or otherwise!

First class all the way!

Having read the reviews from all the previous travelers, I was expecting to find a great house. We did...it's even better than expected! What a setting and what a house...it has everything you could hope for for a family reunion and base for a weekend in Louisville. The beds were first rate, and the decor outstanding. I cannot say enough about the setting...the yard is to die for, and the owner provides four kayaks for enjoying the small lake, plenty of wood for the fire pit and great outdoor living. Again, first class all the way!

FFA Convention

I took a group of FFA students to Greystone during the National FFA convention for this year. It is a very beautiful home and made us all feel like we were right at home. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone in the Louisville area in need of a home to stay in. They had made renovations to the home since our previous stay and they were all very nice!

Exceptionally attractive and comfortable home

Our family stayed in this beautiful home for a three-day family reunion. It was perfect for us. The view of the small lake and the grounds is stunning. There are lots of bedrooms with various sleeping options, the kitchen is modern and well equipped and the dining room accommodated all of us plus there were other tables for smaller groups to eat. There was so much to do from a small swing for toddlers to kayaks, a games room, movies, computers, and much more.

Fantastic...just Fantastic!

This house has EVERYTHING you could ask for in a vacation home. The owner was great to work with and supplied us with lots of tips and places to go...but we didn'the even want to leave the house. Very beautiful setting, even nicer than the photos, and we had a great time on the pond with the kayaks! We may never get back to Louisville, but if we do we already know exactly where we are staying. Greystone is by far the finest place we have ever stayed in.

Wonderful place to stay

The house is a wonderful place, to stay. We are looking forward to the Kentucky Derby and staying in this exceptional retreat. Beautiful, with a water view. Everyone enjoyed staying and relaxing in this magical destination. Maintenance is excellent and so well kept! Great place for any event or gathering.

Piedmont Academy FFA

Our FFA chapter thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greystone for National FFA Convention. The house was very beautiful and accommodated our FFA students during our visit there was a lot of activities to be involved in and is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. It was a good distance from Louisville but was not a bad drive to make. There are a good amount of stores and restaurants close by as well. Our group enjoyed the theater because we could all be together doing something to end our day.

Excellent house for large groups

This house was the perfect location for our reunion. Many rooms for socializing and many comfortable places to sleep. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Excellent lake views, plenty of outside space, nice neighborhood and reasonable distance to downtown Louisville and other attractions. Jim was very responsive to all questions/comments through the whole process and accommodating of our large group. I would highly recommend this house for any group.

Youth Convention

We were in town for a youth convention and 26 people (20 youth and 6 adults) stayed very comfortably in this home with no problems. The accommodations were exceptional and true to pictures and descriptions. The house and grounds were clean and well maintained in a quiet neighborhood. We had plenty of privacy. Jim was very helpful providing us with all the information needed and even suggestions on things to do. He called and checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed and made himself and his representatives available to us. I would definitely recommend this place to large groups, families, or multiple families to stay together. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and close to anything that is needed or wanted which makes it the perfect place to stay.

Amazing Home

10 of us stayed for 4 nights and loved the house. It has every amenity you can imagine, and we used the mall. Great sound system throughout the house, basketball court, kayaks for the pond, amazing enclosed patio, huge deck with a grill, and a ridiculous man cave to name a few. Everything we clean and in order. I could not recommend a better house if you're staying in the Louisville area.

Excellent vacation home

My friends and I were looking for a fun place to spend the weekend in Louisville and we found it at Greyhouse. The home was perfect for our group of 10. There was plenty of room and all of the furnishings and entertainment options were first rate. Between the projection-screen TV, expansive outdoor deck and lake, some of us didn't want to leave the house. Jim was wonderful to work with and it is obvious they care about creating a truly exceptional experience for their guests. Highly recommended.

Lovely Home, Set up for convenient rental

I really enjoyed my stay here. The house was set up extremely well to accommodate a group like the one that we had staying there. Every bedroom had the convenience of a inflatable "bed in a box". It also had plenty of space to stretch out in. The home theater added an easy way to let 6-8 people sit and enjoy a ball game or movie. The sun room also provided a nice place to sit and either play a game of cards or read, and on cool nights we were able to open all the sliding windows to enjoy the nice breeze. I would recommend this place for a group that isn't looking to get too out of control. Which could include family gatherings or class reunions.

It was very nice and accommodated our guests. It was close to the wedding venue and other attractions including the airport. I couldn't find a check in or out list to note any thing that was broken or missing. (i.e.-the statue with the missing arm.) I would have also liked an inventory in the linen closet and because when it was time to clean up, I couldn't remember where all the blowup beds went. Is there a food bank nearby for leftover food? All in all it was a great place to stay.

We, group of athletes, came to Louisville to race in Ironman. We had a wonderful time at Greystone and all of us were so happy with this magnificent property, 5 stars out of 5 for everything, from the booking in the beginning til the stay at Greystone. Nice and quiet neighbourhood.

Illinois family of 14 enjoy lovely Louisville weekend

This beautiful home was perfect for our extended family weekend. It has all the little and big amenities you could wish for. Spacious common rooms and outdoor spaces for all the family to congregate, like the wonderful deck and basement family room. And special quiet corners, like the library and enclosed back porch, were lovely for one-on-one time or reading. We so enjoyed fishing and watching ducks on the pond. The musical talents in our family entertained the rest of us on the well-maintained baby grand. The home is clean, classy, modern. The owners' were accommodating, friendly and honest folks. We spent as much time relaxing there as we did enjoying Lousville's distinct attractions. Thank you for making your home available to us.

The listing description was accurate; however, the pictures did not do the property justice! It is a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood. The home was immaculate upon our arrival and included everything we could have possibly needed. The owner was very helpful when needed. I would recommend this property. We visited Churchill Downs, The Louisville Slugger factory, a distillery, etc. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us - we have some wonderful family memories!

Excellent maintained property, everything noted there plus more!

This property in Louisville, Kentucky is conveniently located close to anything that you want to see in and around Louisville. The home is located is a beautiful neighborhood. Easy to find location. House is beautifully done and has the things listed and more. The pictures don't do the home justice, it even more beautiful and comfortable. The informal downstairs room for watching TV and movies is so comfortable that you just melt into the furniture. The kitchen and dining area is beautifully done and very easy to find anything that you may want. We found nothing out of place or in non-working order. the home was very clean and beautifully decorated. We would highly recommend Taylorsville Lake and State Park for recreational purposes. Chuys in Louisville is one of the best Mexican restraunts that we have even eaten at. A must see the the Louisville Slugger Factory. You will not be disappointed with this property. Good value for your money!

Yes, this house is going to cost you more to rent...but it also provides more. Sharing a large home with other couples or coming as a business, you'll appreciate the finer things! This is located in a very private, gated community of estate-sized homes on lots that are all 4-5 acres. Especially suited for a small corporate retreat or the shared experience of Derby or professional gold tournaments with 4-5 other couples, this house is truly a vacation to remember! At 9700 sq ft, it is large enough to accommodate your group! Lots of wooded land, large, sweeping lawns...and you will likely see plenty of deer during your stay. We are almost 5 miles east of Louisville in the beautiful rolling hills behind private gates. When you step inside and visit the house, you'll see why we fell in love with it...high, custom ceilings, large rooms , a great deck and patio...and privacy! So much more than we could list!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We are a little farther, 25 miles, from Churchill Downs than some would like...but a true country estate. You'll spend around 40-45 minutes on Derby day, but it's worth it for all the relacing you'll be able to do at the house. Being on the east side of town, we are also closer to most of the bourbon distilleries that are a popular attraction! If you want a place to relax and get away from it all, this is it! The house is absolutely filled with unique art...sculptures, paintings, metal art, etc. I've seen the photos posted of pretty much every other high-end home being offered, and this is the house that has it all!
