Upon arrival, we were greeted by a sign saying go away and that we weren’t welcome there. The neighbors clearly don’t like that the property is a vrbo, which made us feel very unsafe there with our young child since the property is so far out in the woods. I feel this is something people should be warned of prior to arrival.We had issues with most of the appliances during our stay. The host offered to send someone to check them out, but we didn’t feel like we should have to be disturbed during our stay. The oven made the whole house reek of gas, so we wasted money on groceries that we couldn’t make in the oven due to obvious safety issues. The washing machine was just filling up with water and draining it right out, skipping the wash or spin cycles half the time. This made us feel like any towels or sheets had not been cleaned properly. The dishwasher’s detergent drawer was still closed and full of the detergent after running a cycle, meaning the dishwasher is not using detergent. Again, this made us worry about the cleanliness of any dishes. Many of the pots and pans need to be replaced. Most of them are borderline unusable due to burnt food on them and heavily scratched nonstick surfaces. There was dog poop left in the fenced area that I picked up myself, the fridge needs a deep clean, mold on the ceiling by the vent in the master bathroom, hair in the sheets in the master bed, etc. Nice house with a beautiful view, the house just needs attention in some areas.
