The shimmering blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico extend out before you at Lighthouse 1013, a beachfront escape near the very heart of Gulf Shores. You'll spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and taking in an incredible view of the water from your private balcony.


Step inside to find a gulf-front living room with a flatscreen TV, a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and such at-home comforts as central air conditioning and free WiFi. There are flatscreen TVs in both bedrooms, a bunk nook for additional sleeping space, and a private washer/dryer to refresh your swimsuits and beach towels nightly.


Lighthouse comes with a host of amenities that include two zero-entry pools, a heated indoor pool, two hot tubs, a fitness center with a sauna, and 635 feet of private beach. You'll be a quarter-mile from Gulf State Park, three-quarters of a mile from the Gulf State Park Pier, and three-quarters of a mile from the Gulf Shores Parkway - the thoroughfare that's home to Waterville USA and dozens of popular restaurants, eateries, ice cream parlors, activities, and attractions.

Not up to par

Don’t believe what you see in the pictures. Everything is worn and dirty. The appliances don’t work. No ice maker, the dishwasher only works part of the time. The shower floor is dirty. The outdoor furniture is rusty and worn. We have stayed at the Liggthouse for years and this was the first time I’ve been disappointed. Definitely will not rent this unit again

Dredging

Overall, we had a very nice time. When we arrived, they were dredging in front of the complex. That was frustrating because I brought my 80 year old parents and my niece from New York so they could hear the waves but all we could hear was the beeping of the machinary. We were also not allowed on the beach. Fortunately they dredged through the night and on Sunday we were able to sit on the balcony and hear the waves. There is a lot more beach for you now!

Poor Communication

We had several issues that could have been non existent if the management and rental company communicated with one another and then properly communicated to my family, the guests staying at the property. I am grateful for Megan who listened and made sure that we were no inconvenienced again during our stay.

Great Location, Great Property

The location is great. It is just far enough away from the busy corridor, but close enough to walk to whatever you are looking for: shopping, eating, etc. We enjoy this spot. The beach is great and the pools are nice as well. Highly recommend. Will stay again.

Nice condo but needs some attention

When I walked in it seemed the place was very clean but after a few hours I realized the sofa and throw pillows were filthy from years and years of use and not ever being cleaned. I mean, the throw pillows were supposed to be cream but were brown from bodies… just gross. The mattress was worn/lopsided and likewise filthy although the bed linens were clean and white. (If you like something more substantial when you sleep, I suggest you bring an extra blanket. Thank you to a previous reviewer; I brought my weighted blanket.) Also, if you do not wish to be an exhibitionist for the nighttime beachgoers, stay out of the living room after dark as there are no curtains. The shower in the main bath has a clogged drain and the toilet paper holder is hanging by a thread so I ended up using the second bathroom. The toilet in that bathroom appeared clean but there is gross black stuff up under the rim. You won’t notice it, though, unless you are in the tub…lol. Other than those things, it really was a nice place and I enjoyed my visit. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for eating in (basic supplies and lots of gadgets and small appliances) and I loved the seating options on the balcony. I encourage Vacasa to get with the owners for a little more TLC for the sofa and mattress.

Comfortable and beautiful view

The place is comfortable, clean and the view was amazing! We saw dolphins from the balcony. The outdoor pool isn’t heated, but there is an indoor pool for the cold days. We would stay again!

Still waiting for resolution since the 2ndday of the trip.

I have been renting from VRBO for a least 10 years. Maybe the problem is Vacasa? Not sure. Hoping to hear from leadership at VRBO soon. We have other stops along the way home to Chicago. I am extremely upset still today. No communication with leadership or property management when we tried to use the stove and found it broken. I am expecting to hear from VRBO since that is the company I rented from.

No follow up on major concern and awful bed sheets

We loved the location but we had to use dirty sheets and towels all week because the dryer was broken which they failed to mention. I made sure to choose a location which had a washer and a dryer because I knew we wanted to use the beach often and my daughter had her softball tournament so we needed to clean uniforms and such for the week. When I went to do a load of laundry and realized the dryer was unplugged, I plugged it in and saw that it did not work. I immediately reached out and was told someone would get back to me. At the end of the day I followed up that no one responded and I was told to have patience and that they were forwarding it to the local staff and because it was now after hours, someone will most likely reach out to me tomorrow. Needless to say, no one ever reached out or fixed the issue so we were not able to wash our sheets and properly clean our beach towels. There were only a handful of hangers so we couldn’t even lay stuff out to dry properly and even at that point, it would take over two days to fully dry saturated wet towels and they would not be usable until then. Again, when choosing a place, have a new washer and dryer was number one on my list because I knew I needed to use it so the fact that it was never communicated is highly disappointing. Then I was told they were reach out to local staff for some compensation and again not a single follow up on the matter. On top of that, I did not get a good night of sleep all week. I like to have blankets on me when sleeping because I get cold very easily. These bedspreads were basically a light sheet and comforter which was just as thin as the sheet so you basically had two sheets. I searched around in the closet and found a throw blanket but even that was light and not heavy enough. Not to mention it did not cover the full bed. Every night was awful and I froze. The mattress, sheets and pillows were extremely uncomfortable to sleep in for an entire week. You will definitely want to bring your own pillow and heavy blanket or you will toss and turn all night and not get a solid night of sleep. The kitchen has some basic items but no Tupperware containers at all. So if you had leftover food or anything you wanted to package up to eat later, you are out of luck. Definitely bring your own Tupperware containers or Ziploc bags to put stuff in because nothing is available to do so. We paid $3300 for six nights and I was expecting a much more pleasant experience. We come to Gulf Shores every year for a softball tournament and I will definitely not be returning to this location. Poor communication and no follow up on concerns.

Lighthouse Gulf Shores Anniversary Trip

We loved our view & larger balcony- nice access from both bedroom & living space. But.. ice maker needed a new filter, plug in the kitchen near coffee machine was coming out of the wall, water continually dripped in the extra bathroom tub could not shut it off. The cooking pans were very inexpensive and everything stuck to it no matter how you prepped it with cooking oil or spray. The scatterrug in the living space was stained, worn. there was sand underneath the cushions in the living room Although these are small things it still is important. Those things are very in expensive to repair otherwise we would have given a five star review.

Great View and layout

A lovely condo decorated quite nice. We had a minor problem with refrigerator and Vacasa was prompt to take care of the problem. The layout is so nice with the bedroom and living room on the balcony allowing the sound of the waves to permeate the condo. The only complaint was that the living room furniture was quite old and the throw pillows were dirty - however, the rest of the place was lovely and shower really huge and nice. We would come back.

Beautiful view. Condo needs a deep clean. Pillows on sofa were dingy with dirt spots. Guest bath needs updating. No water pressure. Ice maker did not work. Internet went out while we were working. And that was our purpose For the trip.
