Welcome to the Kickback Cottage! Centrally located between historic Charleston and the beaches. Less than 15 minutes to most attractions. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops, Shem Creek, Old Village, farmer's markets. Comfortable mattresses with organic sheets sleep 8 (6 adults, 2 children). Relax on the screened porch and around the fire pit. Infant and beach amenities abound. Boats welcome; boat ramps nearby.

The home was clean, well stocked, and in a great location in Mount Pleasant. Convenient access to beaches, shopping, restaurants, and historic sites. Communication was excellent. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone looking for a vacation rental in the Charleston area.

The house was close to everything we needed. Equipped with everything you need to have a great time at the beach. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back the next time we are in Charleston!

Incredibly cozy and relaxing atmosphere. So enjoyable to be so close to so many activities that only the old Shem Creek area offers! Golf cart, walk, drive. You choose the path. You will not want to miss the charm and welcoming home away from home feeling! Make a good decision, rent this home.

Spring Break 2025

6 of us stayed the week before Easter and were very happy we chose this property! The house was very clean and had everything you could think of. The king beds were so comfortable and the layout was perfect for our family. The location was ideal for our trip with beaches and all of the sightseeing locations so close. Shem Creek quickly became our favorite spot, which is a very short drive away. Mount Pleasant is an amazing place and this house is where to stay to experience it all!

Clean house great neighborhood

Very well appointed kitchen. Games for the kids and a fantastic screened in porch. Responsive host. Clean house. Great for families or small groups.

Lovely and Convenient

We had a wonderful stay at the Kickback Cottage. It was convenient to everything. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. The home is well-equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Even an air fryer, which was unexpected! We had a full house, but this place was so spacious that we never felt cramped. We just wish it had been warmer so we could have enjoyed the outdoor space more. We would definitely recommend this place!

Family Fun in Mt. Pleasant

The cottage was nice and clean and easy to find. The layout worked out good for our family. The items provided especially for the kids was a plus because didn’t have to bring as much stuff. The bathroom near the laundry was nice other than getting hot if door was closed (no air vent). But it was spacious. The water pressure In the shower was a plus for me because most places we stay don’t have good water pressure. Location was convenient to local beaches and down town Charleston. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Just right for us

We wanted a place to visit with family and Kickback Cottage fit the bill! Nice screen porch and backyard area. It was convenient to areas that we were interested in seeing. The home was stocked with whatever you might need for comfort, babies, bbq, and beaches! The only negative was TV service (Sling TV), but not that important.

Perfect location!

Chrissie was a fantastic host and was prompt to assist with all of our questions regarding our stay. House was well stocked and neat. While we weren’t there much, it’s a great space for hanging out, especially the porch and backyard. Would certainly recommend if you’re staying in Mount Pleasant. Although, everything seemed to be a short 20 minute away.

A Great Place to Gather with Friends and Family

Our stay at the Kickback Cottage was excellent. The house is very well maintained and comes with just about all the amenities you need for your stay. They also provide beach towels, chairs, and things for the kids to make a trip to the beach even easier. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable. We didn’t use the backyard and patio much due to the Charleston heat in August, but it’s a really nice area to hang out when the weather is right. The owners were extremely communicative and quick to respond to any minor issues or questions we had. We loved the location in Shem Creek being in between downtown and Sullivan’s Island. We’d definitely stay here again for a future visit to Charleston!

Listing doesn’t do it justice

The pictures and the description doesn’t do this place justice. We came in for a fishing trip (so the Blackstone and the Grill were the stars of the show for us) but this house could comfortably fit 2-4 families our couples with ease. Large, clean, well lit spaces, a great location, and a great place. Will definitely be back. 10/10

We are a 50-something couple who at a humble gym playing a silly sport called pickleball which is now all the rage. We're still passionate about pickleball (we've played in several countries and take our paddles everywhere we go), about traveling and our family and friends. We spent 18 months during the pandemic exploring the country, staying in Airbnbs along the way. That experience made us even better hosts. Our wish for our guests is that they have a fun, relaxing time and make memories they'll cherish for their lifetimes.
