As beautiful as the home was, I'm leaving a one star review due to how our stay and experience were impacted by our host. I have been advised by VRBO's customer service to leave an honest review of our stay and our experience with the host. Mid-stay, our host messaged us while we were out to dinner and requested that we pay her an additional fee via Venmo for a 'pet fee'. I felt that that was very odd, to be requested to pay an additional fee outside the platform.After confirming with VRBO's customer service that the host shouldn't be requesting additional payment outside the platform, I let the host know that VRBO themselves advised me not to pay this fee via Venmo. The host got a little snippy with me. We also realized that the host was 'monitoring' us with outdoor cameras that weren't disclosed on the listing. We felt unsafe and worried about the host potentially coming over to the residence and removing our belongings and our two small dogs, even though the listing was advertised as being 'dog-friendly'. Everything about this stay left my husband and I very uncomfortable. I will not book with this host again due to how uncomfortable we became during our stay here which is unfortunate because the home was very nice. VRBO did confirm that it was the host's error of not including the charge for our pets in the total paid amount, anthat I DID disclose we had two dogs. I'm very unimpressed with this entire experience and wouldn’t recommend this residence.
